Google Gemini have just announced personal intelligence which is a new update inside Google Gemini app. It's rolling out in the US currently and then it will roll out to everyone else later. I think a lot of these features come to the US first if you want to see how it works. Basically, here's an example. It's like a personalized greeting inside Gemini. And then you can see here it says the best assistants don't just know the world. They know you and help you navigate it. Today we're answering the top request. You can now personalize Gemini by connecting Google apps with a single tap. Right. Launching as a beta in the US. This marks the next step towards making Gemini more personal, proactive and powerful. So, for example, what you can actually do is connect information from apps like Gmail and Google Photos, which is pretty crazy to make Gemini better, right? And if you switch it on, you can control which apps link to link. Each one supercharged the experience, right? So, for example, it could connect Gmail, photos, YouTube, and search in just a couple of clicks. So, you can see how people are using it. Right? Now one of the most important use cases for this is like reasoning across complex sources and retrieving specific details say for example like an email or a photo and it can combine these right so it could be like text with photos with video with Gmail just to get more unique answers. So, for example, you can see here in this example video, it says I need to replace my tires. And Gemini actually understands what car this user has, right? And then, what's my license plate number again? And it actually connect, review past chats, review your Gmail, review your Google Drive, etc. And then it pulls out the license plate, right? So, it really knows you better than anything else. And if we keep scrolling through here, you can use it for like tips on books, shows, clothes, and travel. Could be great for like planning. Let's say for example you're going on a break or a holiday or a past trip and that sort of thing. And interesting as well here it says by analyzing our family's interests and past trips and Gmail photos. It skipped the tourist traps, right? Instead it suggested an overnight train journey specific board games we could play along way which is pretty crazy, right? If it can look through all your photos, your YouTube history, your Gmail, if it can look for all your personal chats as well, like it's personalization on a whole different level, which means that the outputs and the actual responses you get are going to be 10 times better as well. So it looks pretty cool. Again, it's only available in the US. So, it's only rolling out over the next week to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the US. Once enabled, it works across web, Android, and iOS. So, that's the other thing. If you have this on your phone, it's not just going to work inside Gemini on the desktop, but also on the phone as well, which is pretty useful. And then they've said we're starting with this limited group to learn, but over time, we'll expand to more countries across the free tier. It's also coming to AI mode and search as well. By the way, if you don't know AI mode, this is pretty cool as well. So if you just go to AI mode here, this is basically how you can use the AI search inside Google for free. And so if that's personalized as well, like personal intelligence personalization across AI is going to be on a whole different level. And then if you want to set this up, you can go to open Gemini, tap settings, tap personal intelligence, and select the connected apps. So for example, email, photos, and everything else. So that is exactly what it is, how to use it, how to set up, etc. actually got some notes on how you can use this, plus a free 3-hour course on exactly how to get started with this. Like the old way would be, for example, you know, you type the same context into AI like 47 times in one week. AI forgets everything you told it. It spends 30 minutes editing every response. You get generic answers. They don't really help you. And there's no actual connection to like your data or workflows. It feels like talking to a robot, not an assistant. That's how Gemini feels right now. And it's one of the reasons I don't really use it is it just it doesn't help me as much as say Claude or something like that. Right? Claude has a lot more data on me and it seems to remember better. The new way is like Gemini will remember your business model, your customers, your goals, your personal life, etc. Pulls data from Gmail and photos and YouTube. Checks your calendar. Learns your preferences from search and YouTube history. Gives you personalized answers based on your actual life. And then it might save you a lot of time. Number one, repetitive tasks. And number two, finding personal data. And number three, just by not having to type in the same prompts every single time.
