NEW Google Veo 3.1 Update 🤯

Google Gemini have just released a brand new update to Veo 3 which is their video generator as you can see right here they said and we're rolling new Veo 3. 1 upgrades are rolling out in the Gemini app. So we're going to test this out now mainly the two improvements here. Number one vertical videos and number two you get better outputs with less prompting. So here's the story for example you can see that you can make your videos vertical which is cool. Great for Instagram. I think Instagram's going to get flooded and just with even more Bayer 3. 1 videos. As you can see, it says make your videos vertical from towering shots to social already crops. Gemini has your video size covered. Upload vertical image, select the video chip, and ask Gemini to turn your photo into a video. It will automatically stay in the same asp ratio and orientation. Now, this is not fully rolled out to everyone. I'm actually going to test it and see if I've got access today. And you can see another example here. So, they've said make more expressive videos. We've enhanced the way VR 3. 1 uses reference images to help you create videos that will maintain more consistency and give you more creative control like you see right here. So outputs are more dynamic and engaging. Characters stay the same when the settings changes and scenes stay the same if you transform subjects with them. And combining disparate elements, so for example, like characters, objects, textures, and stylized backgrounds is completed with more finesse. Let's see. So here's an example of the video that it could generate. And again, this is a vertical one right here. And you can see these updates are also rolling out now for Google AI Plus Pro and Ultra accounts. You can just open the Gemini app or visit this. So, let's test this out. We can go over here and we can use video. Like I genuinely don't know if I've got access or not. So, we're just going to take a random vertical image and then we'll try and use that as a example for this video. Let's see. We'll log in. Try out. So, we're going to just download a photo of me and then we will plug this into Gemini. So, let's grab that picture. So, we'll plug that in here and then we'll just say okay, animate this video just as a test. So, this is a vertical image of me and we'll see what happens. So, it's generating the video here. So, let's have a look at what else this update means. So, it says our latest video update generates lively dynamic lips that feel natural and engaging. supports vertical video generation, blah blah. And there's three improvements here. So vertical to 1080p and 4K resolution and then also improvements to V 3. 1 ingredients. Right? So with short prompts, you can generate more dynamic videos. Let's play an example right here. So we've got the video like and this is a raccoon being transformed into a talking character in vertical video. So you can see does look a lot more expressive, a lot more realistic. We're still waiting for Veo 3. 1 to generate the video. So we'll keep going. Looks pretty cool. You can maintain identity consistency for your characters. So identity consistency is better than ever with a 3. 1. The video keep your characters looking the same even as I said change making it easier blah blah. Let's try this out. So see what it does. So I'm walking on spot Mars in a space suit is the prompt here and then it transforms it into this which is pretty insane to be fair. That looks way better. Yeah, I've got the vertical video right here. That's crazy. That is pretty good to be fair. It's like it's pretty realistic. Let's see if it's got sound as well. Interesting. All right, let's try this now. So, I'm going to say I'm walking on Mars with a spacuit. Test this out. And in the meantime, let's check out more of the updates. Control the scene by maintaining the integrity of your setting and the objects within it. You can also reuse an object backgrounds or textures across. So, let's see what we got here. So, for example, this is some aura fizz with a kitchen and then it flies through the window and shows the cans like the quality is insane. Let's see what we got here. I think we can also upscale this. So we can make it 1080p or 4K as well according to the new updates and then also seamlessly blend textures, characters and objects. So you can combine disparate elements like characters, objects, textures, and stylized backgrounds into a cohesive high impact clip. So if we take a look at this one, as you can see right here, you've got the texture of this, the color of this, and then the landscape of this. And then the prompt is car with pattern drives in fantasy landscape mode from pattern cinematic trailer and dramatic music. So let's see what it does. Wow, that's crazy. That looks so cool. Here's another one. So, this is another example. Fashion show where model glides through the cathedral. Insane. It's better than the Avatar movie I watched recently. All right. So, you can see how you can use this, how you can add visuals and stuff like this. So, just created a random character. It didn't actually listen to me. Let's try that again. I'm going to upload the image here. So, we'll copy this and then we'll go back to the chat here and we'll

try the same prompt again. But just something to be aware of over there. It's definitely not perfect, but we'll try this again. So, this time we'll take the actual image, upload that. It doesn't seem to remember it if you just plug it in directly. And then you've got native vertical outputs. The other interesting thing here is they've said for consumers and creators, we are bringing VER 3. 1 ingredients to video directly to YouTube shorts and the YouTube create app for the first time. You can also try the enhanced Vea 3. 1 ingredients to portrait mode in the Gemini app starting today. So let's have a look here. Create video in your media gallery or in Okay, so you can do this apparently for free in YouTube shorts and YouTube create app. Let's try this out. So, whilst we're waiting for that video. Oh, there we go. We've got my video ready. So, that is me walking in the spacuit. It is very animated and the quality is good. I wonder if we can upscale that to 1K or to 4K. Let's try that out. Say upscale that video to 1K or 4K. 1080p or 4K. See if it can do that. So, let's try this out. If we go to YouTube shorts over here, see, I've got it in YouTube shorts. So, I'm in my short section here. Create post, podcast, new playlist. I can't see it. Maybe if we go to that short, we can edit it. Clips, create video clip. I don't see that anywhere. Maybe in the editor section. Doesn't seem to be available though, but apparently you can do this in the YouTube create app if you don't have access directly inside YouTube. And then we've got the video here, but it's totally messed up. All right, so let's try this. So we're going to take we're going to download that video here. And if we upload it, can we upscale it that way? Also, this is interesting. So they've said we're committed to providing tools to make it easier to determine if content is AI generated. This is why videos generated by Google's tools are embedded with our imperceptible synth ID digital watermark. Right? So basically this can be detected as AI generated. For example, if you uploaded this video into Gemini, you can say is this video generated with AI and it can analyze the video source, use AI detection and then figure out and it says yes. Both the audio and the visuals were edited or generated by Google AI. So it can detect this as well. And we've got one video generation left. So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to take the exact same video. We're going to plug that in. We're going to say this man on an elephant on the beach. 4K or 1080. I will say it's definitely a step up. in the right direction when it comes to the video itself. Like it's just so much more animated. Looks so much more interesting as video itself. The texture in the background look really cool as well. And then even looking at this one, it doesn't feel like so much as previous. It looks a lot more realistic. Weird smile on my face. I said I can only generate videos from text or images, but it was an image that we generated. Nice hit and miss. It's definitely not like perfect. You can see all the imperfections right here. But that's basically the new update from Beo 3. Let's have a look what other people are building with this as well. So, if we go inside, so we can see what people are creating, what it does, etc. Let's have a look at a few more examples here. The elements are pretty cool. Oh, apparently 1080p and 4K is only in flow. So, let's try flow. If you've never used Flow before, by the way, just go to labs. goox. Google/ effects/tools/flow like you can see right here and you can start using it from here. So we can set up a new project now and we'll click on ingredients video. Then we're going to select Veo 3. 1 fast. You can choose portrait here outputs 2. I can't see an option for 1080p though. So let's take this crop it and save it. And then we'll take the same prompt here. This is also a good way to bypass the limits on Gemini. And then we'll try it right here. Let's have a look here as well. We got a ve 3. 1 quality. I think that's the one we probably want, right? So you got quality, fast, lower priority, fast, and quality. So I'm going to choose quality here. Hit enter. Says this feature isn't supported on Vera 3. Okay, let's switch to fast and try that. You can also use it inside AI Studio, too. So if you go to AI Studio, like you can see here, you can actually build out an app pretty quickly that generates videos. So you just go to build start and then what you want to do is just make sure that you use this option animate images with beo3. Let's have a look if there's any other new ones. I think that's pretty much it. You got prompt based video generation as well. And then also you can select control image aspect ratios. And then from here you can just say okay build out an app that generates videos with Veo 3. 1. Right. And now actually build out an app using 3. 1's new API options. If we go back to Flow we've got the man on the elephant. There he is. It still doesn't look that realistic to be honest with you. I mean, someone could tell that's AI for sure. All right, so that's basically how to use Veer 3 in the new update. You can see some examples. You can see the limitations of it as well.
