### Intro []

Nano Banana 2 is officially here and oh my gosh, I have a lot I want to show you because I've been comparing Nano Banana 2 with the original Nano Banana and Nano Banana Pro and I've been getting some very surprising results. In this video, I'll do a head-to-head between all three of the models so you can see which one ends up on top. Just so we're all on the

same page about this, generally speaking, Google has two different categories of image generation models, regular and pro. Nano Banana, the original one, fell under that regular category. It was a really good model, but after that, they released Nano Banana Pro, which was so much better in terms of quality, but generally speaking, costs more money to actually use. Now, Google has released Nano Banana 2, which again falls under that regular category. I just want to make it clear that we do not have any information as of the making of this video about Nano Banana Pro 2 or Nano Banana 2 Pro, whatever they're going to end up calling it. So, for purposes of this video, we are going to be comparing the new Nano Banana 2 to Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana. Let's start out by

### NB 2 vs NB [1:09]

comparing the regular Nano Banana, which I'll have over here on the right, and Nano Banana 2, which will be over here on the left. For each of these comparisons, I gave them the exact same prompt. This first one, I asked it to create a still from a major Hollywood studio film. I wanted to capture a hero moment where there's a gritcovered tactical soldier in carbon fiber armor emerging from an explosion. Now, the image that the original Nano Banana made for us is pretty good. I mean, it's an okay image. It looks really nice, but it looks like AI made it, right? It feels sort of fake. Compare that to the one on the left. It still looks like AI, but look how much more detail there is in here. The difference between one and two is night and day. This one just feels so much more thought out. There's a lot more detail in it and it looks more realistic. For this next example, I asked both of them to create a cyberpunk style image of a rain sllicked street at night. And just I mean there's no comparison between the two of these. The one on the right, original Nano Banana, just feels very washed out, very sort of flat. And the one on the left just has so much more detail in it. Even the reflection looks a lot better. The way a lot of it's sort of shining off of it. Uh just all the extra street signs. It is just much better quality. Next, I wanted to compare how each model handles editing images. I frequently have AI help me with the thumbnails for my videos. So, I thought that would be a good test. For each of these, I uploaded the same image of myself and told each model to design a viral thumbnail using my photo. And again, just a tremendous difference between one and two. The one on the right here, again, Nano Banana one, unusable in my opinion. Like, it's okay, but I would never use this as a thumbnail. And this one on the left, in one shot, it nailed it. I mean, this is a great looking thumbnail. Look at the shadows on my face. Compare that to Nano Banana, where my face just looks flat. It is so much better quality. Where the difference might be the most striking though is when you ask each of them to create an infographic for you. Here I had a simple request. Make an infographic explaining how to buy a used car. The one that was made by Nano Banana honestly looks a bit like a joke at this point compared to the one that was made by Nano Banana 2. There's just no competition here. And this has been my general finding when comparing these two models time and time again comparing the same results from each of them. There's no question here that Nano Banana 2 absolutely smokes Nano Banana. But that's not the main question here. Of course, the new model is going to be better than the old one. The real question here, surprisingly, is which model is better, Nano Banana 2 or Nano Banana Pro? So, once again over here on

### NB 2 vs NM Pro [4:17]

the left will be Nano Banana 2, but this time on the right will be Nano Banana Pro. And I use that same prompt we used before where we want that major Hollywood studio with that explosion scene. And comparing the two of these, I got to say, I like Nano Banana 2 more than Nano Banana Pro. Just look at the difference. This one just has a lot more detail in my opinion than the one on the right. And it really feels a lot more immersive. I was pretty surprised when I saw those results because remember pro is like a pro version and Nano Banana 2 is just like the regular version. I know it's the newest one, but I would still expect pro to maybe be a little bit better. But in this case, I just like two a lot more. This was just one example though. So let's see what else I made. So for this one, uh again, this is the cinematic street scene at night, the cyberpunk style. And once again, Nano Banana Pro sort of has that same feel as the regular Nano Banana where it just feels a little bit flat and washed out compared to the one that Nano Banana 2 made. So, two for Nano Banana 2. Uh, again, very surprised by this. Here's where things get a little bit interesting. Again, I gave both of them the same prompt. And just looking at the images my face, first of all, I like Nano Banana 2 better. It looks a lot more natural. The shadows on my face is a little bit more detail to it, but it's very, very close. However, Nano Banana Pro did a better job at intelligently thinking through what this thumbnail should look like. Inside my prompt, I basically told it to take this image of myself and create a thumbnail from it. And in that thumbnail, I want a computer screen and a screenshot on that computer screen. Now, Nano Banana 2 fumbled this. They didn't quite understand what to put on the computer screen, so just put the original image of myself on the computer screen, which obviously isn't what I'm going for. Now, no Banana Pro was a lot more intelligent, and actually put something on the laptop screen. I also feel like the text is just a little bit more legible here for a thumbnail. So, I would give the win here to Nano Banana Pro, but just slightly. And there are things I do like more about what Nano Banana 2 created. This next example is again the infographic, the same one as before. And again, I have mixed thoughts on this. I think the one that was created by Nano Banana Pro is a lot clearer. It shows step by step how to go through the process of buying a used car, and it is very clear. Also, looking this over, I don't see any mistakes in terms of letters that are all messed up. The one that was created by Nano Banana 2 looks more impressive. It created like this road map for you of how to go through the process of buying a used car. There seems to be a lot more detail in here and little images as well. Also, looking through this, I didn't find any mistakes. However, it's not as clear. We have step one, two, three, four, and then step five is over here, which is fine, but sort of this road map, it seems like you should follow it. And it's a little bit confusing because it doesn't quite make sense. So, this one feels more impressive, but I think the one on the right is just a little bit more clear. It's very neck andneck for me, and I think it really comes down to personal preference. But for this next example, for me, there is a clear winner. Here I asked each model to create this sort of miniature hero scene of a little mouse. And I like the one that was created by Nano Banana 2 more. The shadows are great. The lighting is great. All the little details. The one that was made by Nano Banana Pro looks fine. It just feels a little more flat than the one that was made on the left. But I don't want you to think that I'm just praising Nano Banana 2 and it doesn't have any faults because there were some tests that I did where it fumbled a lot more. So here for each of these I uploaded an image of myself. This is a party I went to recently. It was like an 80s themed party. So I wore this outfit that is a real image. I can't believe I have to say that these days, but yes, that is a real image. And then I threw both of them into Gemini and asked them to make this look more8s. Now Nano Banana Pro did a great job at this. You can see right here that it kind of surrounded me by a boom box, all these neon lights, all these posters. It looks a little bit fake, but it got the vibe right and it's still me. Nano Banana 2 really struggled with this. It made actually a fantastic looking image and it feels more realistic than the one that was made with Pro. It even has this little date stamp on the bottom right. It improved the rug. It feels like more like a real image. But that's not me. That's not me at all. It totally changed up the character. So I gave it another shot. This time I gave the same prompt, but I said maintain the character consistency and it did a better job, but it's still not me. Nana Banana Pro, every time I've used it, it's just really great at character consistency. And Nanata 2 really struggled with this one for some reason. For this next example, I gave each of them a very detailed prompt to see if they were able to follow instructions. So, I asked for an image of a transparent glass pyramid on the left side of a table. In the middle is a leatherbound book that's open to a handdrawn sketch of a dragonfly. And on the right is a yellow mug with black polka dots and steam rising out of the mug. And looking at both of them, they both did equally as good of a job, I would say, and they both failed in the same department. So, the book in the middle isn't open to a page. It has a dragonfly on the cover. So, they both messed up the same thing. The mugs for both of them look great. And I'll say the pyramids look great for them as well. And the other thing I wanted was a reflection of the mug in the glass pyramid. And both of them interpreted this a little bit differently. The one that was made by Nano Banana 2 did a very good job of literally just reflecting it. and the one on the right which is now to Banana Pro. It's a little bit more abstract but it's the right idea. Like that's actually what it could look like in this case. Again, it's neck andneck. I think both of them are equally as good and they both have faults with them as well. Now, one place where I found that Nano Banana 2 absolutely destroys Nano Banana Pro is putting yourself into famous movies or onto sets of famous movies. I mean, just look at the difference between the two of these. This looks pretty good. Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro looks funny in my opinion. It really looks like I paid someone like five bucks to Photoshop my face onto the face of someone else who is on the set of Star Wars. It just doesn't look good. The one on the left, it looks a lot more realistic. And I found that was pretty consistent. So, here's one from Pirates of the Caribbean. And again, look at the one from Nab Banana Pro. Yeah, I mean it's okay, but it's nowhere near as good as the one from Nano Banana 2. Now, there

### New features [11:51]

are a few other updates to the new Nano Banana 2 that I think you need to be aware of. First of all, in the past, anytime I had Gemini make an image for me, and there was something I didn't like about it, it often struggled if I asked it to edit those images. But I find that Nanoan 2 is a lot better. So, remember this image right here where the book is supposed to be open and it's not? Well, I then told it the book needs to be laying open and this time it actually did it perfectly. Another thing that Google has said that Nano Banana 2 can now do a lot better are aspect ratios. So, here this is 9x6 or sorry, this is 16x9. So, I told it to do 9 by6 and it was able to do that. So, this is like an image I can now post to Instagram. Although, interestingly enough, it then switched it to a closed book again, which is kind of interesting. And then I told it to make it a square, and it was able square. So, following aspect ratio prompts is much better. The other really neat feature is that Gemini now understands the world a lot better because it is powered by real time information and images from web search. So, if you ask it to create an image of a location, it's going to be a lot more accurate. Here I asked it to create an image that looks like you're looking out the window of an apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn. And it did a really good job. This is actually what Park Slope looks like with all these different brownstones. You can see Manhattan in the background and even a church right here. And the final thing that Google has said is that Nanoan 2 is much better at putting text on infographics, which we saw before. And in my testing, I find that to be very accurate. And it can even translate into dozens of different languages. That's something I can't test because I don't read anything except for English. We'll have to take their word for that, but it's really cool that it is available in so many different languages. Now, as for availability, Nano Banana 2 is currently

### Availability [13:54]

rolling out. I don't know when it's going to be available for everyone or where in which countries, so don't get mad at me. I have absolutely no control over that. What I do want to show you though is how to actually access it. You can come into Gemini, click on create image, and then if you have it available, what you'll notice is that when you type in your prompt, it'll say right here, loading Nano Banana 2. It doesn't always say that, but probably at least 75% of the time, it will tell you which model it's loading right here. And that way, you know you have Nano Banana 2. Now, what's interesting is that in the past, your choice right here between fast thinking and pro determined if you were going to have nano banana or nano banana pro. Fast was always nano banana and thinking and pro were nano banana pro. But now when you choose fast thinking or pro, you always get nano banana 2. At least as of right now as I'm making this video. So, as far as I can see, you can't even access Nano Banana Pro inside of Gemini even more. And I think that really speaks volume into the testing that was done between these models because Google, I think, has concluded that, yeah, Nano Banana 2 is not only better than Nano Banana, but also better than Nano Banana Pro in most use cases, or at least so close that it doesn't make a difference. And that's pretty wild when you think about it because once again, this is just the regular model. Imagine what Nano Banana 2 Pro or Nano Banana Pro 2, whatever they end up calling it, is going to be like. It crazy how good the new Pro version is. And you better believe that when that drops, I'm going to be making a video about it. So, if you don't want to miss out on that, make sure you definitely subscribe to the channel. Otherwise, let me know in the comments section down below if you have access to Nano Banana 2 yet and where you live so that other people can know if it's coming out for them soon. And let me know what you think of the new Nano Banana 2. Otherwise, thanks so much for watching and I'll see you in the next video. Bye for now.
