hello my name is Jana Ritter and I'm at the S company here at the Carousel Bar at the hotel Mont Leon with the legendary Marvin Allen Marvin thanks for having us here today we are here today talking about herb Saints so Marvin tell us you've been at the Carousel Bar for about 10 years now what is the importance to you with working with local Brands like herb Saint and Pa bitters I think it's just great having such great Brands to work with uh the herb Saint is really cool um of course the P the ABS that just recently came out again which is really cool and it's got a great flavor profile it's very mixable whether it's on the rocks or in cocktails it's just a great thing little bit later we'll show you a couple cocktails we got with it sounds great and then of course the sierak ride too awesome now a lot of people are intimidated by The Taste profile of absence type drinks like herb Saint so tell us a little bit about how you know how you walk someone through using the product and the mixability of herbs a lot of situations I've seen with people that don't like the profiles they've had too much of it there's been too much placed in a cocktail you do have to be careful you don't put a whole lot in you just want a little bit of the background coming towards you don't want to overwhelm the cocktail what are some different ingredients that you think really accent The Taste profile of herbs um pineapple juice works very well um let's see uh orange juice somewhat but not quite it depends on how you work with it um tomato juice Works real well and that I know that sounds bizarre but if you think of Italian sausage which got that spicy anise flavor with a great tomato sauce works well great all right now I know you have a cocktail prepared for us the Kentucky morning Fizz correct so let's get mixing okay first thing we're going to do for this is we're going to crack an egg so just get the egg white toss the yolk away then we're going to add about an ounce and a half of sazar rye whiskey about a/4 oce of uh herb saint then three or four dashes of peshaw got that nice herbal little sweetness to it also gives it a really pretty color and about 1/4 oce of simple syrup half oz of fresh lemon juice what we're going to do is what I like to do is call a dry Shake which means you're going to shake it before you put any ice in there which is going to give it a nice froth and then we'll go ahead and add ice and chill it down strain it all right now for someone at home what kind of glass do you suggest serving in this is a um it's like a 14 o Collins glass okay and you want to do something nice and Tall me you're going to add a little club soda to the top to give it a nice Fizz orange slice okay and there you go your nice Kentucky Fizz all right it's a great way to start good morning I think I'm going to try one too Cheers
