## Описание

Oscar is using GPT-4 to speed up and automate tedious manual processes in health insurance. The claims assistant has reduced the time it takes for Oscar to resolve escalations by 50%, with accuracy on par or better than human agents. By partnering with OpenAI, Oscar is making it easier for agents to review patient claims and automate parts of the processes that drive up healthcare costs.

I'm Mario Schuster I'm the co-founder of Oscar and the president of technology and CTO I started the company in 2012 and uh it was a fairly simple motivation we thought Healthcare is too costly and too complex too cumbersome too complicated the use I think one of our proudest accomplishments today is that we were the first insurance company to assign a baa with open ey language models were really the first time that we thought you can translate the messiness of the Real Worlds into a much clearer digitized plan the cracking of problems by applying language models maybe isn't even the hardest parts it's to then take that solution you found and put it into a workflow replace an existing workflow system with it and make it useful in a company's day-to-day setting my name is Nikita Lua I'm a senior product manager here at Oscar health and I lead our AI R& D team the reason why I'm interested in AI is because I think it will unlock a lot of use cases in healthcare that previously were untenable we actually have built proprietary data sets that help Benchmark models against Healthcare specific use cases the open AI models consistently perform the best gb4 helped us build a claim assistant that is going to be used to automate at least 4,000 tickets per month 48,000 tickets per year and that's massive Time Savings for our internal teams and that helps us respond to members and providers much faster five out of the six people of our pod are women and all of us are in our 20s and 30s which I think is really cool because what it shows is that there's not one stereotype of who is going to be ultimately pushing the frontiers of AI development we want to go towards the extreme of a model those your clinical issue we need to over time bring down the cost of seeing Physicians and being in the hospital by a factor of 10 in the next you know 3 to 5 years or so the only way to do that is to have a model really in that conversation all the way not just scribe not just record but actually have the conversation the medical record is the Holy Grail of patient information in healthcare and sometimes for our most complex patients the medical records can be as long as 500 pages we have one specific use case at Oscar where clinicians have to review more than 1,700 cases of medical records and each one takes around 20 minutes that's around 9 weeks worth of time for these clinicians there's a little bit of selection bias in the system patients with the most acute and complex Healthcare situations are the ones with the longest medical records that's why I'm so excited about AI because now we have a way to make sure that the sickest patients actually have access to the best care possible just like everybody else
