We put out an open call that I want to talk to you guys proposing. We wanted to find people who might not have totally seen themselves as head speakers before, but who definitely are. People that haven't had the opportunity to move their idea forward yet. An idea by itself won't achieve anything. But what if in the audience there were experts and mentors and investors to take these ideas and help them grow? Then all bets are off. Speakers rehearsed their talks in front of the team and in front of each other. As time went along, I was able to Oh, we're just all over the place right now. We all have deeply rooted passion within us to see change in the world. Coming up and doing this sort of thing is not their day job. And this is scary. Sometimes they do mess up. Sometimes they forget to say something just to sorry million dollars. Sorry, added a few zeros there. The reality is everyone gets nervous. There is a weight of expectation with a TED talk. Hundreds of thousands of people would like to be in this position. We want to have millions of people around the world dreaming about their chance to share their idea more broadly and to give it its chance.
