## Описание

Cero means "Zero" in Spanish.

Business was my gateway drug to philosophy and understanding humans.
In these short podcasts, let's talk black holes, computing, physics, business and philosophy, and let's try to keep it short.

At the end of the day, everything from product to marketing to sales is fundamentally about psychology.
I spend a lot of time reading research papers and running experiments in the neurosciences lab and on people.
On Instagram, I've noticed how putting out any advanced content on this type of research gets me lower engagement - so I'm going to reserve that platform to put up motivational quotes and updates, and use this playlist to put out content for people to really win at this game of life.

so one of the things that you know I've just been running thought experiments on over the last few years is if we were to build an apex predator the human apex predator what would that look like and to understand that you know you have to go back and step back in the animal kingdom and you look at realize that there are two kinds of distinct leadership type figures and I wouldn't call an apex predator a leadership type figure and I'll come to why in a bit you see two distinct type of figures the first one is the traditional alpha male which is you know this creature that's driven by the drive to defend and to maintain its position as top of the stack rank and you know in a future episode i'll talk about what stack rank means but in this case it means being on top of the pecking order which is being ranked 1 or rank two in on social situations most likely rank one whereas in the animal kingdom apex predators are a completely different type of beasts they work primarily through the channel or means of relatively aggression and they often take pleasure and pride not in defending their own kind but in hunting down tracking down and killing their prey in novel ways they are seekers of excitement and exploration rather than seekers of defense ability and security a good example of this in the animal kingdom is that whales don't usually travel alone they travel in groups known as parts and there was just one documentary where I realized that whales don't just hunt for survival they don't just hunt to kill other animals and eat them as food and survive they also hunt in a team for sport and there was just one example especially in the documentary where they separated a mother seal from its baby and they spend six hours drowning the baby seal and then ate nothing but the tongue they're absolutely horrendous but they're driven by the neural circuit for excitement and exploratory behavior take another intelligent species for example the Dolphins with dolphins researchers have pretty much reached the conclusion that much of the killing serves no direct evolutionary purpose dolphins will slaughter of hundreds of power poisons at a time and the evolutionary reason for this would probably be if the Popeyes is completed with the dolphins for the same resources such as food but they don't Pappas's eat completely different types of food from dolphins killing a purpose doesn't increase the dolphin chances of surviving or reproducing the only conclusion is that dolphins kill power poises because they want to and that brings up the question of dominance every animal who lives in groups include most mammals form dominance hierarchies social animals are not democratic and there is an alpha animal and often a beta animal do you see even dogs have an alpha animal who is dominant over the others as well as a beta male who is second in line to the Alpha this is just it's evolutionary psychology right we can see this live in any social animal group that we create including in human beings this may come as a surprise to you but massive social animals like physically big social animals like cattle are more dangerous to handle than big solitary predators like Tigers Apple can attack a person like a human person to achieve dominance but at I don't want because a tiger doesn't care about dominance social hierarchies are just not for Tigers that's not how big cats work you have to be extremely careful not to trigger predatory aggression in a big cat obviously but that's it every year several dairy men and farmers are killed by cattle challenges and in my opinion best way to prevent dangerous attacks on people on humans by cattle is to raise these social grazing animals strictly with their own they should look up the people as a benevolent higher power you know I've been thinking about if we were to build an apex predator a human apex predator what kind of training would be required for that person and you know I'm reminded of a Batman right and you read the original comic so you watch the movies and you realize you know here's this normal man that goes all the way to you know the Himalayas or some isolated place who learns from the Masters you know he start how to suffer a train or train his mind and body and then he comes out through all that suffering a better human being and by better I mean more agile better on his feet better sharper intellectually but I don't think that's how an apex predator is built I think that's the wrong way to build an apex predator I think if you wanted to build a peak human what you'd have to do

### Segment 2 (05:00 - 10:00) [5:00]

is you'd have to train that human by out the aspect of play right you'd have to replicate the animal kingdom and what I mean by play is you have to train this human being to look at everything as a game and allow that person to fail or succeed without any repercussion so if you want to design any long-term training program to facilitate that predator mindset in a human being you'd have to train that human being through a sense of non-competitive play which means that federal success doesn't really matter and exploration because the student will find this training extremely pleasurable and self-actualizing in fact a student will administer this training to himself or herself again and again rather than something to suffer through it forced in fact the idea is you know ultra high and psychologically optimized assassin would have a perspective that saw other human beings as a different species altogether naturally that person would predict upon them rather than viewing them as some potential rival or competitor for scarce resources and this doesn't have to be in a psychopathic way it could actually be only in one very specific aspect for example in when I with people of my rank I think of it differently as to when I game with people who are offer much lower rank because I don't see them as competing for my resources and I'll tell you my own experiences with this right when I played this game called dota and I've been playing dota for almost a decade now when I play with people who are of my rank I've genuinely struggled and I take very little risk right because I want to if it's a one-on-one situation between me and an opponent I try to get that opponent or kill that opponent as quickly as possible but in a situation where I'm playing with somebody of much lower rank then my first thought is never kill the opponent as quickly as possible it is to toy with the opponent right I'm genuinely having fun so for it sometimes do is I just you know I let the opponent go while I'm chasing him down and then suddenly you know just show up behind and just when the opponent thinks they've survived I'll show up and I'll put them out of their misery and you know rain on their parade but I and I do this a lot right sometimes you know how to stand the middle of the map and I'll just do nothing and the opponent think hey this guy is probably lagging and they did come right up next to me and then I'd spam every skill I have to put down the opponent as quickly as possible it's fun and you know sometimes we do this is a team effort - my co-founder Shashank and I we've been playing dota together for 10 years and the rapper we have today is incredible both in the game as well as outside obviously today I do business with him and that rapper carries over but what we generally used to do and even do sometimes these days is you know shank would lure the opponent into a trap that I've said and then you know we purposely you know it's like we connect so many times that when we do it just feels good right it feels like we're toying with the opponent and we learned more from taking these extreme risks well you know there is a percentage chance that the opponent would survive right and but we don't beat ourselves up over it whereas on the other hand when we're playing against people of our own skill level and not somebody you know of much lower level what generally happens is we won't take these risks and when we don't take these risks we don't learn anything new we don't become predators and in the real world when you look at the version of an apex predator that person or that creature is just toying with its opponents and that's also my relationship with entrepreneurship right when I started there was no enroll I was just learning and playing I made a youtube channel because it was fun I made I start writing code because it was fun a hint and that's why I got good at it if it was a struggle and if I had some financial constraint when I was extremely young or if I said okay you know I have to get it done in this much time it was something that was forced or something that somebody taught me I don't think I have had the same level of success I think in general neural circuits you know in the brain this would be an extension of this circuit that's responsible for excitement and anticipation right if you extend that to the act of play and you do that for long enough then you become an apex predator at that game and if you look at any professional in any sport whether it be an offline sport or an eSport or even in business after they've gotten truly comfortable in their environment they start playing they start taking extreme risks and they become a threat to everyone around because they're so unpredictable right and all that's required to trigger them is predatory aggression dehumanizing the enemy it's something the army does a lot right especially you know when one country is up against the other the leaders of the army are given Express instructions to dehumanize the enemy so that it no

longer becomes a struggle but it becomes the act of actually looking at another person like that persons of the different species I think it's notable that animals who are set up by experimental design to be able to self administer stimulation and talk about in novel or new environments they sometimes do it to the point of complete exhaustion right and they will usually use interest in virtually everything else the seeking or the exploratory circuit is inherently addictive which is why it works compared to the circuit where you're actually struggling and you're learning through actual struggle animals will avoid stimulating that circuit where they have to struggle as much as they possibly can stress is a deterrent it's enough of a deterrent for animals to completely avoid the circuit all the lives if they don't have to actually touch it but the exploratory circuit if the animal doesn't keep stimulating it again and again the animal will get bored and boredom is a much stronger driver than fear because boredom is something the animal will feel even in the absence of fear is very situational we know that the predatory forms of aggression feel good to the animal but effective aggression which is comes from a defensive place or from a place of fear feels bad and they will avoid stimulating it which is why I think if you were to build a human predator you'd have to a dehumanize every other human and be make sure that the predatory or the form of aggression which is stimulatory or novelty seeking is stimulated and you don't have to create total psychopath ie in fact you don't even have to touch upon the topic of psychopathy or sociopathy in this because you can create an apex predator in a specific game or in a specific art form or sport for example you could be an apex footballer DOTA player you could be an apex businessman which means that only in that particular field you see everything as something that stimulates the novelty circuit you
