OpenAI posted this passed midnight:
"We have reached an agreement in principle for Sam Altman to return to OpenAI as CEO with a new initial board of Bret Taylor (Chair), Larry Summers, and Adam D'Angelo.

We are collaborating to figure out the details. Thank you so much for your patience through this."

And Sam posted a few minutes later:
i love openai, and everything i’ve done over the past few days has been in service of keeping this team and its mission together. when i decided to join msft on sun evening, it was clear that was the best path for me and the team. with the new board and w satya’s support, i’m looking forward to returning to openai, and building on our strong partnership with msft.

Sam ultman is officially returning as the CEO of open AI right now they have a new board that they have put into place they just tweeted this for some reason past midnight so they got me out of bed to make a quick video and this is really interesting because earlier today EMT Shear was the CEO of open AI for about like three days and he actually ran twitch for about 18 years but he was saying that he was trying to figure out the reason why Sam mman was fired so he was tweeting about that there were some reports about that why they let Sam Alman go and he wasn't getting an answer it seemed he wasn't getting a very accurate answer and in real time here at 12:08 Sam mman tweeted I love open Ai and everything I've done over the past few days has been in service of keeping the team and his mission together when I decided to join Microsoft oh yeah he joined Microsoft Sunday evening it was clear that was the best path for me and the team now there was talk of about 600 open AI employees they only have like 700 employees they were all going to leave and go to Microsoft with the new board and with SAA support I'm looking forward to returning to open Ai and building on a strong partnership with Microsoft the most wild weekend and couple days after that in the world of tech that we've ever seen hopefully by Friday this all simmers down so I can make a regular AI news weekly update video but this is what we have so far again this is all happening past midnight on November 22nd 2023 Sam ultman back as the CEO of open AI
