Don't put too much effort into your startups name, and keep it generic enough so you can pivot. The goal of a startup is to find "product-market fit", that is, something the market can and will pay for. Don't box yourself by keeping the name too specific. 

Also, look for SEO clearance to make sure Google doesn't put you anything other than rank 1!

why are you doing an entire video on naming a company the truth is that naming your company is actually a science there are many factors to watch out for and a lot of people spend too much unnecessary time trying to name the start-up when they don't realize that they might have to change what the startup is about in itself my suggestion

and something that's worked really well for Avalon as well is to give the startup an extremely generic name and I'm sure a lot of you are raising your eyebrows right now and thinking hey you know the startup is something special to me it means you know why don't I take some time off to figure out a name for the startup and my suggestion to you is don't talk about the generic name that has nothing to do with the startup itself think about companies like Google if you didn't know Google was a big search engine what would you think they did the cool thing about naming your startup in a generic fashion is that you can always change what the startup does in the future however for a company like job spire it would be extremely hard for us to pivot from doing jobs and start making driverless cabs which why it's an amazing idea to give you a startup a generic name this gives you unlimited space to pivot the word pivot means that you can slightly tweak the idea of your startup or even radically tweak its idea if the market doesn't respond and isn't paying for the tool that the startup is providing then what you do is look for

something called SEO clearance now SEO clearance was a word we invented in sizer to check if a startups name has already been taken by Google now this doesn't mean that if you type a start-up same to Google something appears in on the first result but rather whether you can beat that first result in itself the way to do this is to download a Chrome extension called similar web once you have similar web then you go Google the name of your startup if similar web tells you there is no traffic data for a particular company then that means it might be safe for you to use the company name as your own and beat them in terms of traffic Google respects traffic and many other variables but we're only going to talk about traffic right now Google respects a company that is appearing in the news that has traffic and that is providing real value to its customers in my future videos
