has been a lot more information since then so we're going to also cover that too but it basically said that the opening ey board was in discussions with Sam Alman to return as the CEO now of course if you didn't know of course pretty much everyone knows at this point that samman was fried on Friday and essentially he was fired out of seemingly nowhere this was a snap decision so essentially the update that everyone wanted and was intrigued about was a source Clos to Sam Alman says that the board had agreed in principle to resign and allow Alman and Brockman to return but have since waffled missing a key deadline by which many open AI staffers were set to resign if Alman decides to leave and start a new company those staffers would assuredly go with him so essentially what happened here was Alman was going to return but there was some certain agreements that needed to be made and of course in addition with Sam Alman and Greg Brockman to return they actually set a deadline by which if those terms weren't met it's clear that many of the openi staffers was set to resign now later on in the video I'm going to go into some key points because I see a lot of people on Twitter and in a lot of discussions missing some key points that really change how you're going to view the situation so right now it's Sunday night but I can guarantee by Monday morning there's likely to be some kind of update this is because as you know we are currently on the weekend and in the tech World things don't move as quickly on the weekend so we should have that update by tomorrow and there are a few team so much now if you don't know what this tweet is referring to it's referring to the fact that essentially the entire team at openai or many of the most important members decided to leave in solidarity with Sam Alman or essentially basically said that when Sam Alman starts his new company or his new Venture we're going to go with him now what's also interesting was that we also saw a love heart posted by Mira morati which is the CTO of open Ai and was supposed to be the interim CEO the CEO that would be stepping in from Sam Altman this interaction between them both interestingly enough like he did and now of course this begs the question with Ilia sukova seemingly in a position where it's going to be pretty awkward for him to continue working at the company are they going to be able but they haven't made a final decision and that Altman has been weighing on a new Venture but open to returning now as you know Microsoft invested around $1 billion into open aai to help them train former co-ceo of Salesforce INC now you might be thinking why would Brett Taylor be qualified to be the new director of open AI if he was previously at Salesforce but Taylor actually left Salesforce as the CEO to launch a new AI startup in addition to him starting this AI startup what was also interesting about this possible new director's resume was that not only was he the co-ceo of Salesforce alongside Mark bof he also served as the board chairman of Twitter during one of the most high-profile corporate takeovers in Silicon Valley history so what's also interesting was that they said Greg Brockman so it's clear that the outside capital and the outside investors are having a really large impact on how much is being done here it's really clear that Sam Alman is a major part of open ey and with all of these investment firms stating that look if Sam Alman leaves we know that the value of open AI is going to drop severely and this will change our actions it's quite like they're basically saying that look if Sam alman's out we might be out too now what is very interesting and a key part here is that Alman is open to returning to ### could potentially get kicked out again or there could be another coup or hostile takeover that leaves him without the company because of course as you know this is pretty much his life's work According to some and this is something that they've worked on for the past 8 years together now I do also think that Sam Alman returning to the company and changing the way that the company is governed is likely the reason why we are waiting for an update even now this is because if there are going to be some changes likely what's going to happen is they're likely going to draw up some contracts and I'm pretty sure that they're going to have their lawyers look at these contracts and ensure that the way the company/ open ey is governed now that they're going to be going over that document with a fine comb and ensuring that there aren't any loopholes that can kick Sam Alman out and there aren't any other loopholes that gives him too much power what's also a piece of news that leave with Sam Alman if they felt that Sam Alman was pushing forward too fast that wouldn't be the case at all so it's clear that there was another reason for Sam Alman being ousted from the company and it's clear that safety was most likely not the top concern now here's the thing that many people are thinking and debating is that is Sam Alman going to return I do think like I said before that Sam Alman and GRE Brockman are likely to return to the company but I don't know how this is going to play out because right now it's clear from us that Sam Alman has all of the leverage with the fact that he basically has not only the backing of Microsoft but the backing of the key employees and key members that created open AI now we have this tweet which is actually quite interesting it said around that is a very true point if someone did backstab you and did try to Stage a coup in your company it's very unlikely that you're going to be able to foster a positive workplace environment I think the big question that we're now being asked is will Sam alour return I think it's safe to say that Sam will return but it's definitely going to be on his conditions because he has the backing of Microsoft the key employees in the company and we know that without Sam Alman and the key employees in the company it's only going to be a matter of time before brain drain starts to happen to the AI followed by Greg Brockman but I wonder why he still didn't comment on current events he says that I don't have anything too remarkable to add right now I like and respect Sam and I think so does the majority of open AI the board had a chance to explain their drastic actions and they didn't take it so there is nothing to go on except exactly what it looks like it's clear from that statement that they were blindsided by this decision and right now it's simply a waiting game so overall within the next 24 hours it's likely that we're going to have an update on Monday but I hope it's not another twist and turn because this is something that has been pretty shocking and I'm guessing that everyone was surprised by how strong Sam alman's pull is at open Ai and I'm going to leave you with a comment from Sam Alman that actually somewhat forecast the catastrophic things that can happen when you're in a company and it also does remind me of the movie The Social Network when Mark most people that are good in really other ways eventually just get killed the company gets killed by um stuff going wrong and you know so much about being a successful entrepreneur is just not giving up um when we have funded people who have a great idea perfect background on paper and um you know a great product and still failed uh it has usually been that they are insufficiently determined so I think this is the most important non obvious skill of a Founder um of course you need a good product and a good market and to be smart but that's really obvious um the degree to which being like a you
