## Описание

Today's VeeCap documents my new children's book launch with VeeFriends: Meet Me In The Middle. I start my day with an interview on The Today Show where I talk about the book. The vlog also features two fireside chats I had at Barnes and Nobles, and where it all started: my family's wine store. It's always great connecting with all of you and talking about why I think we need to focus more on meeting in the middle. But my favorite part of the day was getting to give flowers to the only high school teacher who believed in me! Hope you enjoy!

Gary's approach sits at the intersection of business and pop culture. He keenly understands how to bring brand relevance to the forefront. He is a prolific angel investor with early investments in companies like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Venmo, Snapchat, Coinbase, and Uber.

This year, Gary unveiled his seventh book, "Day Trading Attention" where he provides fresh insights into navigating the modern social media landscape. Gary's expertise guides readers on harnessing underpriced attention channels in the digital age. He emphasizes mastering storytelling in these arenas and highlights the "TikTokification of Social Media," where content relevance surpasses follower counts. Businesses can leverage this shift to enhance their brand and boost sales. "Day Trading Attention" equips readers with essential skills to succeed in today's dynamic digital world. Gary also announced his first children's picture book, based on his VeeFriends characters, titled "Meet Me in the Middle”. The picture book, which will prominently feature two VeeFriends characters, Eager Eagle and Patient Pig, delves into the emotional elements essential for nurturing children's empathy – a crucial skill for their future success.

Gary is an entrepreneur at heart – he builds businesses. Today, he helps Fortune 1000 brands leverage consumer attention through his full-service advertising agency, VaynerMedia, which has offices in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Mexico City, London, Amsterdam, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur. He also owns a Major League Pickleball team called the 5s, is part owner of a Big3 basketball team, and is an investor in the revival of the SlamBall League.

Gary is also the founder and creator of VeeCon – a contemporary super conference that converges business and pop culture with innovation and technology. In addition to running multiple businesses, Gary documents his daily life as a CEO through his social media channels, which have more than 44 million followers and garner over 300 million monthly impressions/views across all platforms. ### [0:41](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-9DilEVA2M&t=41s) The Today Show appearance

two of the characters in The V friends World eager eagle and patient Pig and these two characters really go through this great competition of basketball but they overdo it eager eagle gets a little too eager which gets sloppy patient Pig gets a little too patient which becomes complacent and it really teaches the kids about the value of balance so what is one thing you want modern parents to teach their children to Champion losing if you make kids think that losing is bad they're going to struggle in real life because losing is a big part of real life you have this book meet me in the middle why now I think the world's lost

### [1:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-9DilEVA2M&t=94s) The importance of meeting in the middle

balance I think we can all agree you know we've gone to the two extremes and I think balance in the middle matters I think modern parenting has slightly lost its way hence this book I think losing is good not bad I think eighth place trophies are bad not good patient Pig and eager Eagle two of the characters in my world eagerness is amazing tenacity going for it but if you do too much you're sloppy patience is remarkable and hard but if you do too much it becomes indecisive and complacent everybody how many people in

### [2:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-9DilEVA2M&t=130s) Challenging perceptions... with oysters?

### [3:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-9DilEVA2M&t=186s) Barnes & Nobles premiere

been talking a lot and we talked a little bit about this on our show this morning about social media and children and them not having the social skills because everything is on the phone kids are less social in the way that we grew up which is they may not be walking into rooms like this and having conversations they're more comfortable in their phone I would argue that 1984 70% of the people that went to a cocktail party or were in a public settings were also introverted and they just didn't have a phone to look down on but they were very quiet in the corner or they picked one person that they found and they spoke to and they were not very social being introverted is not changed because of Technology your options when you're an introvert have changed cuz you can go to the phone hi Gary my name is J you co you L it's so good to see you brother two V Chucks on the stage okay great to see you how are you give her just like one piece of advice always listen to yourself okay got it give me one thiing sale you can take away the biggest mistake that people make in sales is they try to hang on to someone who's never going to buy in the first place never sell the unsellable I think it's pretty legendary that Gary you didn't reschedule this even though

### [4:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-9DilEVA2M&t=279s) Getting stitches during a meeting

you're getting stitches right now I think that's really the definition of No Excuses at this point thank you my brother I started my reefing company last year and 100% of the business was organic reach so how can I grow our business even further on social that might be more in line with reaching other women make a lot of the decisions in a home so I think you have a actually natural competitive Advantage for half the market Roofing skews a little bit more mail for home decisions than some other categories like in the home I don't want you to over philosopy the gender opportunity or other things that nature I just actually want you to go harder you should be on all seven platforms it sounds like you've got technique down I want more

### [5:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-9DilEVA2M&t=342s) Book talk at Wine Library
