question for you please what would your advice be for someone who has both their parents divorc by the way on their payroll meaning me so I run a coffee shop for my mom and not do well with that and then now I started a transportation company for my dad and now I feel like my time is like being split into building both businesses but I don't know like in terms of technology I feel like the transportation company I think the bigger thing is making sure both your parents know that are you the driving force of both businesses you need to tell them to shut the [ __ ] up in what way if are they complaining my mom isn't my dad isn't but in terms of is or isn't no isn't well then you're set in terms of like growth I feel like my energy could be very well spent like growing the coffee shop as opposed to the transportation so tell your father that you're going to be spending 70% here and 30% here because you think that's right for you and that doesn't mean you love him 20% less it means that that's the business decision you're making for yourself and if they don't like it they're more than welcome to build their own business they I know like I do it for them I understand well then do it then if you're not happy it will all good but if you're doing 50/50 when you want to do 7030 then you won't be happy then neither of them will win okay the way to be selfless and give is to be happy yourself yeah I agree so make yourself happy thank you so much you're welcome to get really quickly thank you so much have the best holiday how you doing for are you so

well we met a long time ago in La I don't even pick the video met a long time ago in La at the friends and family I was too scared to talk to but I've read all your books watched your content for a good 6 to8 months like two years ago back when you were this big I have a business we did 10 million in the last 3 years we saw football baseball like jerseys full I'm a little nervous but wor Appel fully customer sports apparel really a platform all the customers do it themselves basically go online place that full order kind of like a printful totally interesting yep so what do I got to do what to get more customers no to go to 100 million get more customers we can get more customers but the problem is that it's too expensive everything is too expensive you you're not profitable on the execution of the business right now no well that's a problem you can't build a business that isn't profitable we made 300,000 on this 5 million this year that's bad yeah it's really expensive I mean our plan is Tech like we're trying to the whole process we paying sales people we're paying off people paying full-time designers you're running a non-practical business you raised a bunch of capital we didn't raise any money so how are you doing it on sales huming on sales constant Financial pressure raising money now raising 5 million now why are you why like where are your expenses you like the thing that I'm always fascinated by about these conversations is you have to win the game of being at least at sustained profitability cu the second year underwater you're you have pressure we're under constant we're not losing money but we're under constant pressure from a cash flow standpoint from to pay factories yeah to pay factories make payroll I mean it's been like this for 5 years already so sounds like you're not running a smart business like you either have to raise capital or change your business model this business used to make when that guy ran it made 10% gross profit when I ran it me 23 like that was writing a smarter business which took pressure off super aggressive on Revenue all we're about is revenue I'm trying to get 50 million Revenue 100 million Revenue even if it's not sustainable that's that's what that's something that's not sustainable loses unless you sell are you building it to cell yes that's why you're going to lose okay do you understand I don't still don't know how to move forward but well it's you know moving forward starts with if you actually try to build a business not to sell you're more likely to sell it starts with that you're so caught up in the startup culture cuz you're under 40 and everybody under 40 is 19 you're caught up in the start of culture oh schol yeah they're all selling they're all you all that's why all of you lose four win and [ __ ] 9,000 lose 6 win and 800,000 lose you're not building businesses You're Building Financial Arbitrage machines predicated raising capital and flipping not actually building a sustainable business cut costs of course raise prices cut costs slow down string out payment terms run an actual of course you have no patience you're caught up in the I'm going to flip the ship for a billion honestly bro on some real [ __ ] cuz I want you to win this isn't just a motivational video this is like you have to run a business of course cut cost of course go renegotiate credit terms mean of course go do pre-selling so you get the cash flow in like real run a real business got you know what I mean yeah because what you're going to do now is focus on raising Capital which going to waste focus there's nothing worse than focusing on raising Capital you're at the mercy of somebody writing you a check you're in a [ __ ] spot versus actually building an audience and actual business and customers who are a business that actually pays and lets it sustain and grow you're in a [ __ ] spot and so is every kid right now everyone's just raising Capital you're more focused on reverse engineering BCS than RSE engineering [ __ ] customers that's the market that I feel that's what we're in right now man no it's not what we're in it's what you chose to look in I'm bu the [ __ ] an agency during this time I had the most leverage in the [ __ ] world 10 years ago to raise Capital what did I build a horeshit [ __ ] agency it's not the game we're in it's the game you chose worked with them for a while I got a lot of networking and a lot of connection through that but in the end have you debated the concept of both school and it's been tough because I have to or not have to but I'm expected to and I expect myself I'm going to put 100 whatever I'm doing 100% into that why don't you put 100 into both well to maintain a little bit of sleep as well of course but I mean here here's where I'm going with it if you have the ability to be the kind of student that you're talking about I didn't have that ability I was so over indexing in One Direction but the reality is that the thing that you're looking for in life that could happen because of your roommate at Duke or brown not because you [ __ ] hustled 24 hours a day I think the world's interesting I think the that I've gotten through self-awareness I would also like to uh provide value towards you in the way that you like to say go selfish and how it gives you more media and things along those lines I like to give you some more value in that sense of asking you know for people that come from a little bit of my background with the message itself awareness that you push out for you to lean in a little bit with that message cuz it's been so helpful for me it makes me happy it really has you know uh you know I garden and I can find times where I'm in peace and there and things along those lines you know
