And what about one tip or two? Um, for new editors, — don't feel like you necessarily need to like walk the audience through every single like beat in a scene. Look for those places where you can, you know, cut out steps and and, you know, and go from A to F instead of A to B to C to D because that's also what keeps the pace of a film interesting. You know, if the audience can predict where you're going. It's like, okay, the scene, you know, ends and now we're going to start a new scene and then we're going to watch somebody enter a room then they're going to finish and leave. It gets boring and you start feeling that and you get restless. So, just like look for the places where you can surprise an audience with a cut that they're not expecting or just, you know, make them feel like they're being pushed through a story rather than taking a leisurely stroll through it. — Do you have any specific examples of that maybe from like Frankenstein or John Wick? There's a cool cut in Frankenstein that GMO I think actually GMO came up with this one and it's when Victor is leaving he's leaving the bathroom having just been confronted by Harlander and then the next scene is Elizabeth knocking at his door and he's going to answer it and so we actually just like Victor takes like a couple of steps towards frame right and then in the bathroom and then we cut to Victor coming in off of frame left in his apartment and it seems like it's like a continuous cut like he should be in the same location but we've actually switched scenes and switched locations at that point and it works. because of continuity of motion. Even though you're just like, wait, like, you know, I'm you're in an entirely new place, but you actually like Yeah. It's so it's kind of seamless that like it doesn't it doesn't bump you in any
