Hospitality is changing. The customers are changing. They all look for a very seamless streamlined, digital-first experience. Staycity is a leading aparthotels group. We have forty hotels around Europe for a total of 6,500 rooms. An aparthotel is the perfect blend between a home and a hotel. If you are traveling for work if you're on a weekend getaway you can eat, sleep, work, relax, and enjoy your stay in prime locations without compromises. Our customers come from all over the world. We did an analysis on the booking funnel and we saw that the conversion rate of the checkout and payment pages wasn't great. So we knew we had to do something. We needed to give people the type of payment methods that they want plus a frictionless experience and replicate that across payments at the reception, web, kiosks, and so on, and so forth. Once we started talking with Stripe it was clear that the level of depth was higher than the competition. We wanted a global partner someone that could scale with us so that if we want to quickly open a hotel in a jurisdiction we have a partner that can support that ambition without having to switch between multiple payment suppliers. We use Oracle OPERA as our property management system. Any vendor that we onboard needs to be tightly integrated with OPERA — and that's where Stripe helped us with the OPERA Connector to deploy the payment terminals. Once the initial development was complete we could roll out Stripe across the first of the thirty hotels in three months. When I reflect on all the ways that Stripe has helped us what comes to mind is how easy it is for customers to pay at every point of our journey. You make a reservation you arrive at the property both at reception or at our kiosks with the Stripe Terminals. You can add extra packages, parking, breakfast. Every single step of the journey touches on Stripe. This also simplified our operations maintenance of the Terminals integration to the various systems reconciliation, a lot of processes automation of certain payments. We also unlocked new revenue streams. We can now convert to different currencies and show prices in the guest currency. So that's amazing. And overall, the funnel has improved by fifteen to twenty percent in conversion rates and we can sell more direct on our own website. Whether you are a business customer or if you're out in a city exploring the payment process just fades in the background and leaves you enjoying your experience. And that's what Stripe allows us to do.
