So, what's the upcoming Fusaka Ethereum upgrade all about? Let's dive in. Fusaka implements 13 new Ethereum improvement proposals with one main goal, scaling Ethereum further. The most critical EIP in this upgrade is EIP7594, better known as pure D. L2s such as B or Arbitum post their data to Ethereum in these designated storage spaces called blobs. Currently every node has to download all the blob data to verify it creating a bottleneck. Pier D stands for peer data availability sampling. It facilitates scaling blob space by allowing individual nodes to download only a fraction of the data specifically 1/8 of the blob data rather than the whole thing. In pure das, the beacon nodes verify data availability by mathematically sampling small pieces of the blob. This way, we can target eight times more blobs, massively increasing scale for L2s while keeping node requirements low. Another blob related update is the introduction of blob parameter only forks or BO forks. Right now, changing blob parameters requires a major hard fork. With BOF forks, the number of blobs per block can be gradually increased outside of the major network updates. Fusaka also aims to increase the gas limit per block from 45 to 60 million, which helps scale L1 capacity directly. Outside of scaling, Fusaka hardens Ethereum against DOS attacks, cuts node overhead, and unlocks Pasi native wallets on L1. Fusaka is a groundbreaking upgrade. It doesn't just make Ethereum more scalable today. It fundamentally changes the architecture to prepare the network for the massive scale needed in the future.
