Hi, it's dumpster diving time again. Gigantic bales. Look what we have here. We have a box. And I thought I was just going to score some monitors, but uh anyway, they're all bubble wrapped up for our protection. This is what I noticed. It is a mini PC. Uh it's a little Intel Knuck thingo. Is it? I have never scored one of those. I am going to take that back. We got some phone stuff, too. Is that No, I'll have a digger. A bigger deeper dig. Whatever. I'm confused. Anyway, um let's go back to the lab. All right, they are wrapped for our protection. So maybe the company like moved into this building and then they just never unwrapped these uh from you know another location. They just sat there in storage or whatever and when they I don't know maybe they've left here or they've upgraded or whatever or clearing out the IT room or whatever it is um and they're uh left these monitors. I'd be absolutely shocked if these don't work. There was a third Philips monitor with it. Uh, and it had a post-it note on it saying working as almost all of my monitors are actually working. So, these are AO jobbies. They look identical. Uh, 24E 2450 SWH. I don't know what the SW is. It's always nice to get matching monitors like this. Yes, they are matching uh model numbers. It means that you can, you know, set them up as a nice dual monitor arrangement uh with the Knuck. Yes, here it is. It is an Intel Knuck. Um it's an older Celeron uh jobby, but look, it's still got the plastic on the power button. Um 2154 that just happens to be the Castle Hill postcode uh next door to uh where I am. But uh anyway, we got Kensington lock SD card slot, dual HDMIs, the Ethernets, and uh it still has the Peely sticker on the top. So, I'd be shocked if that doesn't work. Uh I managed to get the uh plug pack with it as well. Little bit of wear on the uh cable there. And I found a um little bit crusty, but I'll take it. Uh power over Ethernet. I'm going to I could use this for uh the bunker internet upgrade that I've got uh coming where I want to uh like install a remote power over Ethernet internet uh 4G 5G, you know, modem thing. So anyway, um let me get some cables and power these up. I'd be stunned if these monitors don't work. All right, monitors hooked up. Let's plug it in. Hopefully the plug pack works and press the power button. Yes. Well, flushy. Yeah. Fishy flash. Hard drive is flushy flashing. Intel nuck. There it is. And of course, yep, the monitor. Yep. The monitor's going to work. It's in dual monitor mode at the moment. No worries. Winner chicken dinner. No surprises whatsoever. They probably got Windows installed on this Knuck. Come on, you can do it. It's slow. It's one of these old ones. Uh, what is the exact model number? No, it's just the original Intel Knuck, I guess. Product code box 7C JYS A MN. Yep. Working on updates. 92% complete. Okay. Yeah. Well, it's got wind. That's Windows 7 by the looks of it, isn't it? And the other thing is these companies usually don't wipe their hard drives when they toss stuff like this out. I have found company information on hard drives. Like, so I actually know who actually threw these things out. Um, it's just crazy. Unbelievable. At least remove the hard drive. Um, poor IT practice, but you know, uh, sometimes these are from smaller companies or whatever. Okay. Yeah. No, we've only got the one monitor at the moment. It's got the email address, so I can't show you that. Uh but pin or is it 2154? Uh yes it is 2154 I think. Uh it's showing welcome but it does that doesn't it? So uh yeah it's from a marketing department originally belonged to marketing department at a company. I won't tell you who. And yep, there you go. I'm in like Flynn and dual monitors working a treat. So, I got two 24 in AO monitors. They're are full HD and nothing fancy, but you know, I'll take them. Probably got like a 20. Um, yes, I do actually collect all of

these monitors and I eventually bulk give them away to like schools or other, you know, um, underprivileged u, you know, community things or something like that for those that want them. I've done that several times before. I've given away like over a dozen monitors. So, yeah, I've scored a little Intel Knuck here. Um, that's the first time ever I've found a little knuck or mini PC as they call them these days. Um, Intel were the first, weren't they, for this sort of form factor, and then everyone else copied it and has done way better now. And yeah, they're super great. Um, form factor. This will still be useful even though it's a seller on Joby. Does it have the Wi-Fi? All right, let's run CPU ID on this thing. And it did have uh Citrix on it. Uh, so it looks like it like there's nothing else on here. No, there's no Bitcoin. I always check for Bitcoin. Um, and no. Okay. So, we got an Intel Celeron. Celeron J45 10 watts TDP 14 1. 2 volts, 14 nanometers uh at 2 gig. We've got uh mainboard Gemini Lake host bridge. We got 4 gig of RAMW. Well, there you go. DDR4. That's right. Is it expandable? it. Um, and it's got UHD graphics 600 in it, but you know, if you want to see the benchmark, it's not going to be great. So, yeah, you're writing home to your mama about this. But, hey, you know, load Linux on it, and this is a fine little uh knuck uh machine. 4 gigs is okay if you want to just run something simple on it, and Bob's your uncle. Anyway, I reckon that's a winner chicken dinner for today's dumpster dive. So, if you liked it, please give it a big thumbs up. As always, discuss it down below and over on the EV blog forum. And if you want to buy my merch, which keeps the channel afloat. Can't make a full-time living from selling dumpster stuff. As much as people think that I could, I don't think so. Um, yeah, this little knuck ain't worth much. Uh, neither are these monitors, but they're handy, so I'll keep them. Beautiful. Um, yeah. Anyway, keep me afloat. Check out evblog. store. Buy yourself a multimeter. And for those who always ask in the comments about the dumpster room, no, you cannot get ex access to it. It is not a public dumpster. It's a private dumpster in a big commercial office park like this that serves multiple buildings here, hundreds of different companies. And yeah, they just toss out stuff like this cuz it's not worth anything to them. And it's not really worth it, you know, time or effort to sell it on eBay, but I found some great stuff on there that is. So anyway, catch you next time.
