If it takes you a lot of time to solve math problems, that's actually a good thing. Because of the constraints in our education system, we're often demanded to do math in a time constraint. However, in real world problems and especially in mathematical research problems, you often take a lot of time to think about things and the ideas are usually all over the place and unclear. For example, a while back, I was working on just clarifying what it is that I wanted to argue and you can see all of my thoughts were all over the place. It's often arguably more important to have the tenacity to stay with a problem over a long period of time because regardless of what type of problem you're working on, whether it's theoretical math or not, consistency over a long period of time wins.
