This is one of the most dangerous things that can happen to you when you study. So if you study mathematics for long periods of time or physics, maybe you are a computer programmer and you're working in it. This is something you have to watch out for. And it's something that happened to me. one of my good friends. It's something that happens to most people in any field where you have to think and work for long periods of time, when you have to concentrate for long periods of time. And the reason it happens is because if you're doing math or physics or chemistry or biology or you're doing some coding, you're going to be sitting down for very long periods of time. And that has an effect on your health. And this is an interesting topic and it's one that is motivated by an email that I received today. I I'm not going to read the email in this video, but basically the person was saying that they were 45 years old and they have a job and they are trying to learn mathematics, but they're worried about sitting for prolonged periods of time. So there is a solution to this and it's a very good one and in this video I want to give it to you. So my solution is one that I try to employ and one that many other people's also use. It's every single day when you wake up, make it a habit to do some physical activity, right? Don't stop, right? You got to keep moving your body, right? So do some activity every single day, right? It is one of the secrets to success in this world. Some of the smartest, richest, most successful people in the world do this. They get up every morning and one of the first things they do is they exercise. This does so many things for you. One, it removes that guilty feeling, which what the email was talking about. The person was feeling guilty. You're not going to feel guilty about studying math for four hours if you've already gone out and gone to the gym or you've gone for a run because you know you've did your that you did your daily physical training. Not only does it remove that guilt, it's good for you, right? It's going to help with weight loss. flexibility if you stretch. It's going to help with muscle growth. It's going to help with your mindset. That's probably one of the biggest ones for me. you know, working out every day, even just like a light home workout, push-ups, sit-ups, some stretching, some jumping jacks, you know, if you don't have a gym, you can do that. That's going to make a huge difference in your mindset. It's going to help you learn mathematics because it's going to clear your head. It's going to help you do better at your job. These are things that are lifechanging, my friends. I don't think people realize how much an of an effect physical exercise can have on your mindset. And so that's one of the things you have to watch out for if you learn math. You know, when I was in graduate school, I definitely gained weight. I still have my old student ID and my face was puffy and fat and I remember I gained some weight because all I did was mathematics. It's zero exercise, you know. I had this friend when he was studying uh for his engineering degree. He he told me he gained so much weight, you know, he started he picked up bad habits, started ordering Papa John's pizza every weekend and eating junk food, just feel good foods cuz, you know, it makes you feel good when you're stressed and you're studying and you're trying to work on some hard engineering problems. It's fun to order pizza and dip that pizza in garlic sauce and I think that's okay in moderation, but you got to exercise. You can't Don't let your body go to waste if you're studying mathematics. It's one of the big things that happens to people. And you know, often times when you think of math people, you think of skinny people who are really skinny and you know, nerdy looking and out of shape or overweight. It's a stereotype because it's real. You know, people let their bodies go, but you can be in shape and you can learn math. You can do both things. There are people that are in great shape that do mathematics and physics and computer science, right? So, you can be in good shape and you can learn a lot of math at the same time. And I think again the secret is to just get up and make it a routine. Do a little bit every day and you're going to see that you those incremental steps that you make every day, working out every day, it's going to make it's going

to make a big difference in your ability to learn math and in your mindset and in your physical health. You know, I can't emphasize it enough, and there's all kinds of routines you can do. One of the things that uh you shouldn't do is you shouldn't overdo it, right? There's this old saying that I first heard many years ago, you know, in the bodybuilding circles. I used to freak in a lot of bodybuilding forum and it says that the best workout routine is the one you can keep. So, my advice is do something you can continuously do, even if it's just planks and sit-ups and push-ups and stretching. I mean, start with that, right, every day. And it it'll make a big difference in your mindset, my friends. You know, I always talk about this, too. You know, train your mind, train your body every single day. It's very important. This is your one life. You don't want to waste it. You give it your best, right? And make every day count. Make it count. You know, if you can wake up tomorrow and you train your body, you train your mind, your day is a success. Then you can, you know, spend the rest of the day doing whatever, you know, get up in the morning, do some exercise, do some mathematics. You've done both. Everything else is a bonus, right? bonus. It's a good way to live your life. So, yeah, I wanted to make this video because I got that email. I read it briefly. I should have read it again, but I can't. I don't have my computer here. Uh, and I thought it was an interesting question because it's certainly a valid concern. This person did have a valid concern. They were feeling guilty about studying for prolonged hours. They were worried about, you know, the effect it's going to have on their body. And that, my friends, is a valid concern. You know, this person was 45 years old, but it doesn't matter how old you are, right? I was much younger when I was in grad school, and I gained a lot of weight. You know, my buddy, he got his engineering degree. He's an engineer now. And uh he gained a ton of weight, and he was in his 20s, like 22, 23. I mean, he got fat. He got really big. And uh we talked about it for a long time. And after that, he went on a hardcore diet. uh started training every day, ended up doing powerlifting. The guy's got some great genetics and he's doing great now. So, don't let studying destroy your physical health. You you've got to do some physical activity and and try not to think of it as like, oh no, now I have to exercise, too. Try to think of it as this is going to make me better at mathematics. physics. When you move your body, when you exercise every day, it it's gonna make you better at those things because it clears your mind. You know, there is nothing like physical activity. I mean, it really helps with the mindset, my friends. It really, really helps. If you want to learn math, check out my courses and books. I've also got some motivational books. I'll leave all of that in the description. Um, stay strong, my friends. Stay strong.
