How do you rebuild confidence after failing a math class? This is one that is hard to do because we think when you think about it, failing a math class, I mean, it feels really big. It's not just like failing a test or getting a question wrong, you know, you you've taken the class, you got a grade, and you failed. How do you rebuild your confidence? How do you come back from that knowing that you can accomplish what you need to accomplish? And so my answer is this. You know, when what I've seen from people who fail classes, in my experience, they fail because they're not good enough to do the mathematics, right? They they don't know the math and so they fail. And they work really hard sometimes and they do their best, but they don't get it. And the reason people don't get it, the reason they can't learn is because either one they didn't understand the teacher, two their math background was really weak, or three, they didn't have enough time. And so time solves the other two parts of that equation. Given enough time and energy, you can make up for the bad teacher. lack of experience. Because if you put in enough time and effort and energy into a class, you will be able to learn. And the reality is that different people are at different levels. So those people that passed and got A's, it wasn't necessarily because they were smarter than you. It's just they had a better background or they had more time or they understood the teacher better. You know, one of those three. Most of the time it's because they had a better background. And you can't fix that. You can't fix that better background without putting in the time, right? Everyone has to learn mathematics, right? Nobody's born knowing math. So, you have to get to the level where you can pass that class. So, you have to put in the time and you know, no, it's possible. I have I've had plenty of students who have failed classes, algebra, statistics, calculus, differential equations, pre-cal. They've taken my classes and they've passed. Why is it because I'm an amazing teacher? No. It's because they put in the time. effort. They knew that given enough time and effort and energy, they could do it. And so if you failed, if you failed a math class and you're taking it again, just make sure that you're able to put in the time necessary to succeed. And I know it's hard. You might have multiple classes, jobs, kids, significant others, responsibilities. Life is hard, but if you put in the time, you can do it. And it's worth it. I mean, a lot of times people just need one or two math classes for their degree. You know, a lot of times people who fail math classes oftentimes are people who just need the class for their degree. They don't really like math. They're not that interested. They're taking it. It's part of their busy schedule. And they they just need to get through it, you know, and so they don't put in enough time. But math is hard. It requires time. That's the thing about math, right? So, put in the time and you can do it. And that's all I wanted to say in this video. You can do it. Just put in the time and you can make it happen. You want to learn math?
