### Segment 1 (00:00 - 01:00) []

Let's talk about things he did really well here and things he could also improve to make this big lift even better. First, the starting position is pretty good. The spine of the scapula is aligned over the bar. His bar is touching the shins and his gaze is forward to slightly up. This is how Olympic weightlifters position their body in the start position which is going to be slightly different than a powerlifter performing a deadlift. The bar, however, then drifts away from the body, which can make the rest of the lift more difficult. To fix problems like this, Olympic weightlifterss will often use combinations within the training, such as a clean lift off, pausing just above the knee and making sure the bar stays close to the shins the whole time, plus a clean, again, pausing at that position and making sure the bar stays super close. But if you're really strong and athletic, you can make up for these little inefficiencies and make big lifts. Just think about how much more he could lift with these small little changes.
