### Segment 1 (00:00 - 01:00) []

the eye chart. In the real world, it doesn't matter how big the letters are that you can read. It's not an absolute measurement. It's not objective. You go to an optometrist in a dark room, you're going to have different results than in a well-lit room and a different results in naturally ambient lit room versus artificially lit projected chart versus printed chart. Stress, no stress, did you eat a bunch of carbs before taking the eye test? Constantly varies. So, that's the number one thing. Don't look at the eye chart as some kind of gospel of eyesight. It is a reference. What do you want from your eyesight? You don't care about eye chart, right? Like what you can see on an eye chart. What you care about is can I recognize the person in the office that's walking towards me? Do I not look silly because I have no idea what their facial expression is? Do I know where they're looking at me? Should I nod and smile? Are they ignoring me? Are they paying attention? The more you do that, the more clearly the eye chart becomes a translation tool for what you really want, which is real world visual acuity of English speaker. That's what you want, right? I think you want the chart to be just a translator.
