Let's open the [music and singing] relations mailbox. — I think this is unprecedented kitchen technology. Seattle Ultrasonics made a knife that sends like 30,000 teenytiny vibrations through the blade per second so that the knife feels sharper than it really is. And I heard that and I thought, "Wo, this is going to feel like a lightsaber. " But in reality, it's more like 6% sharper. And that might be enough for say like an older, smaller cook who hates sharpening knives. I haven't had this long enough to tell, but maybe you can feel more of a difference when the blade is dull. But then again, it's so big that maybe a regular knife with improved ergonomics would be more helpful, more effective than one of these. The way I see it, a product this futuristic needs a sort of party trick to sell it. If you turn it on, it does freak out your AirPods. Like all the noise cancellation goes crazy in your head. If you turn it on while wet, it'll do this cool steam thing, but that's pretty hard to see. Unfortunately, the party trick that's most perceptible is doing this, which makes a crazy high-pitched, bone chilling noise that you can't even replicate properly over video. I want to see this company succeed. I would like to see how version two improves the idea even more, but I do think it's going to be an uphill battle without some sort of party trick. The closest thing I could get was making little slices fall off the blade at the push of a button. You need something that's going to elicit some number of oo and a's. And maybe they'll figure it out. I do think that they can succeed. After all, our place is still kicking and they make one of the dumbest pans that I've ever seen.
