### Segment 1 (00:00 - 05:00) []

A few days ago, Chevy emailed us asking us if we want to drive the new Corvette before it's even revealed to the public. We said, "Yeah. " — Oh, yeah. — Today, we're going to talk to the people that designed it. — Wow. — And we're going to answer the question. — Oh, that's so sick. — Why the heck are they building another Corvette? Right over there in that garage is this new Corvette trim. You and I are going to see it together for the first time. I can't wait. Let's go. Yo. Okay, dude. Look at this thing. This is the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport. And it's not just an appearance package. What's under the hood here? It's going to change, I think, almost everything for Chevrolet, but we'll get to that. A lot of you Corvette guys already know why the Grand Sport name is significant. But if you don't, I got you. Back in the 1960s, a little car called the Shelby Cobra was dominating racetracks all over. This was a two-fold problem for Chevy because A, those Cobras were powered by Ford engines, and B, General Motors had banned themselves from racing after a terrible crash at Lama in 1955. So, the question was, how do they beat Ford without officially racing against Ford? Zora Arcus Duntov had the solution. build a stripped out super lightweight vet with a huge engine and sell it to private teams who could do Chevy's dirty work for them. Go racing without contradicting the motorsport ban and hopefully beat Shelby, Jaguar, and Ferrari at Lama in the process. Seemed easy enough, right? Which brings us back to this one. So, Chevy has commemorated that original Grand Sport three times. Uh they did it with the C4 back in the '90s, which is honestly one of my favorite Corvettes ever. Then with the C6 and C7, now with the C8. Let's uh let's take a look at some of these details here. Obviously, you got the hash marks and the Grand Sport badge right there. These fenders uh they look like they're a little bit wider like the -ray and Z06. This is the wide body because these guys are 275s in the front. Damn, that's a wide tire. That's crazy. Let's go see what they got in the back. Now I'm curious. 275s in the front. 345s. Pablo, you ever driven anything with 345s? — No, I never handle that much meat. — I bet this thing's going to freaking rip, dude. — So, you're going to want all the grip you can get in the front because not only is the Grand Sport obviously rear wheel drive, but you can get it in all-wheel drive as well. You can get an option with the electric front motor from the ZR1X. 186 horsepower going to the front wheels. I mean, that's more than uh a lot of us have going through our cars, right, Pablo? — Yeah, I got 100. — 100? You have 100? — Sorry. — It's okay. It's it's how you use it. Hey, don't go. All right, let's see if we can take this top off and see how those supple seats feel when I'm in the car. Feeling pretty good, Pablo. My bottom's feeling real good. How do I look? You look like a dad. — I look like a You look great. — You know what's smart? Checking All State first for a quote that could save you hundreds on car insurance. — Man, I can't believe how many fish we caught today. — You know what's not smart? Not checking that your cooler is secured before heading home from your big fishing trip. You worked really hard. You're patient. And now you have a cooler full of fish to show for it. I'm proud of you. — Thank you, man. — Yeah, everyone at the office is going to be so stoked. Tuna, catfish, trout, salmon. CAN'T FORGET SALMON. YEAH, CHECKING FIRST is smart. — I knew we should have brought a net. — So, check All State first for a quote that could save you hundreds. You're good hands with All State. — Dude, how cool is a blue interior? I love a blue interior. Real Nolan heads know that. It's got red stitching on the seats and everywhere else. I think it's pretty sweet. All right, we got the top down. We got the keys. I think we should fire this thing out. Little cold start. Pretty good. I can't even hear myself talk. That's loud. Damn. That's loud, dude. I just talked a lot louder than I thought. Oh my. What' they put back there? I can't wait to drive this thing. Oh my god. — Okay, I don't know what I was expecting, but that surprised me. All right, let's talk about the really big deal with the Grand Sport. You guys just heard it. It's the engine. That is the brand new

sixth generation Chevy small block. They're calling it the LS6. It makes 535 horsepower, 520tlbs of torque. It's naturally aspirated. There's no turbos bolted onto this thing. It's all motor. It is 6. 7 L or 409 cubic in. Keep that in the back of your brain. When you're building a uh a C10 in the future, you're going to want to find one of these things. Hold on, hold on. Isn't there already like a healthy amount of cars in the vet lineup already? You got Stingray Z06, ZR1, ZR1X. What's this guy bringing to the table? Well, I know the perfect guy to tell us why that rhymed. Didn't mean to do that. What's up, Tony? How are you? — Yeah, nice to meet you. — This is Tony Roma. He's the chief executive engineer for Corvette. — So, the Grand Sport philosophy really for the last couple generations is to give the end of a lineup, kind of reward our faithful customers, right? — When you guys are doing like development, like what are you actually doing? — Yeah, at this point in development, because we're so close to production, these are what we call laptop trips. So, we've got uh a bunch of engineers that are literally just uh looking at ones and zeros. So, we got people here on the transmission, the electronic limited slip. We've got people here with the dampers. Putting the last little hone on the edge of the knife right now. So, that's what we're up to right now. — All right. So, the yellow car that's testing out there, that's the one we're going to be driving. It doesn't have any of the markings on the car. Doesn't have the bumpers or any of that might distinguish it from any other Corvette currently on the market. That's because Chevy is afraid that there might be spies around here getting shots, might be flying drones, who knows? getting info on this car. So, they've disguised it. It's purely meant so test drivers on Chevy's team can come out here, give input, and they can make adjustments. They're in the garage. I can see a whole team of mechanics. They're getting input from the drivers and making adjustments on the fly. Super cool to like actually be out here for a development session like this. It's neat to like see the money that these OEMs have in action, frankly. Let's be real. Oh, there it is. That yellow looks good, man. any spies lurking, be like, "What the hell is that? " — All right. — Your name is Aaron, correct? — Yeah. — Nolan. — This is Aaron Link. — Pleasure to meet you. — He probably has one of the coolest jobs in the world. He's the global vehicle performance manager for Chevrolet. He's going to tell me how to drive this thing. — I'm going to put that down cuz you're going to get blinded. — He set the lap record at the Nurburg Ring with the Z06. It's cool guy. — This is that off camera tricky one. So, you want to turn in like now. — Yeah. Okay, that's cool. — Clober this curb. Straight line. Break hard. And then turn. Turn. Turn. Turn. Yep. Now hug this left. Easy here cuz you run out of track. Okay. Well done. Seems like you've done this before. — With the track somewhat committed to memory, it was time to chase the other test driver and forget pretty much everything Aaron told me. I know I'm not doing well. He's leaving me in the dust. — Yeah, it's going to be hard to catch him. — Hard on the brakes here. Coming up my favorite turn wide here. Oh, we're already at the end of the track. Oh, that's terrible. My race engineer would be very mad at me if I was in a racing situation right now. Okay, one downshift. Hold through the 90°. Find the apex. Going to try to do a little bit better this time around. Hard on the brake. Downshift. Let the car rotate. Back on the gas. Oh, I that one up. Car rotates nicely though. Okay, let's see if I can actually nail this one. Yeah, little slow. Oh, but fine. Oh, rear end kicked out a little bit. — Let it settle. — Let it settle now. Turn back on the gas. My voice is cracking. Here comes my favorite turn. Okay. I hung on to him. Here we go. — Nicely done, man. — Thank you. — Yeah. Very nice. — You figured the car out pretty damn quickly. — Yeah. As soon as I There's a car in front of me, I was like, "Oh, now I just got to chase him down and forgot pretty much everything you told me. " Yeah, I don't know. You kind of figured it out pretty quickly, but yeah, the lead follow helps.

### Segment 3 (10:00 - 12:00) [10:00]

— How to gracefully get out of this. — Yeah. Good luck. — Oh, do I look cool? That thing is That's crazy, man. Oh, wow. All right, now Aaron's going to give me a ride. We'll see what this thing can really do. Oh. Okay. Hey, it's still putting me back. Wow. Oh yeah, dude. — Riding in this machine really got me thinking. Sure, it was a development day for a product made by one of the biggest corporations in the world, but the speed and forces acting on my stretchy human face had me reflecting on how much human effort went into making this car a reality. All cars really. And the track and the buildings around food I ate earlier that day. the gentleman at the gas station who I asked to give me the code for the bathroom whose plumbing I was so thankful for. This car reminded me of the truth. A truth we can lose so easily in the stress of modern life. That we are all connected to each other, our planet, and the universe around us that life is so beautiful and worth living. I mean, isn't it just cool that we're capable of like doing this as a society, as a human race? — What are you talking about? — Thank you guys so much for watching. Thank you to the entire team here at Chevy for uh allowing us the privilege of driving this thing. It really means a lot. Um cuz it it's amazing. Great car. Uh hit the subscribe button. What do we got? If you want to see the complete opposite of this car, go check out this video right here. Uh, more bumper-to-bumper on the way. Um, now I need more seat time.
