873 lucky individuals will get to own this new Ducati, the 800cc Formula 73. It's a tribute bike built on the Scrambler platform to pay homage to the original 750 cc super sport desmo. This is Ducati's first production Desmrome valve bike and they nailed the finer details. First of all, 73 horsepower out of a fuel injected Desmo Lin is a bit modest to say the least. They could have got more out of it, but they didn't. And that was wise because that's almost exactly what the original made at 72. Furthermore, the headlight with the cross shape in it is a reference to the practice of taping your headlight on track day to keep your glass from shattering everywhere in the case of a crash. But my favorite detail is actually the gold stripe on the gas tank, which is done because the original fiberglass gas tanks on race bikes were left unpainted there so you could see the fuel level through the transparent fiberglass. Now, that's cool. What do you guys think?
