### Segment 1 (00:00 - 01:00) []

I think there I mean there's I think a lot it's interesting the landscape even sort of how we're thinking about China has um has changed this week when you know the president postponed the long-awwaited summit with President Xi. Um I took that I think a lot of people did as an indicator that I think his plan was that to have the Iran war done before he showed up in Beijing to talk to President Xi um and to have that as part of sort of you know the bargaining for the whatever sort of grand deal. I know his aspirations to have a generational agreement with the Chinese on some on, you know, on the breadth of issues, security, trade, tariffs, all that. Um, and the fact that, um, he postponed the meeting, you know, says to me, well, certainly the Iran the war in Iran is going to last longer than the end of this month. Um, so that was a bit of a um, yeah, that was no surprise that it happened, but it was just it's not not particularly encouraging. Um because again we I've been writing tweeting about this like this is this is meaning I think is still the most important meaning of his presidency. Um this solving having some kind of grand bargain with the Chinese that outlast that you know that that makes sense that can outlast one presidency is really important. Um and I think that that's been postponed means that the circumstances to be discussed um are not yet settled. Um, and of course things that are unsettled are always a little bit unsettling.
