### Segment 1 (00:00 - 01:00) []

If you're moving with your partner and you're thinking of doing a 50/50 split where you're getting married, this is for you. Let's say person one earns $4,000 after tax a month. Person two is a higher income earnner. They're earning $7,000 a month. If their shared expenses total $4,000 and they're using a 50/50 split, they'll each be paying $2,000. If they're splitting it 50/50, person one has $2,000 left over. Person two has $5,000 left over, which means person two has more than double what person one has. With this split, person one is impacted by their ability to save, invest, and pay off their own individual expenses. In this case, with a low income and a high-inccome earner, this plan could impact their lifestyle in three different ways. One, what if one person wants to take a vacation that the other one can't afford? Partner two wants to run out of the kitchen and partner one doesn't have the funds. Let's say partner two loves to go out with their friends. Partner one can't join them because they don't have the funds. Both partner one and partner two end up living a different lifestyle even though they are a partnership and they are living together. So I have a different take on this and it's based on my faith you know biblical principles that you know a man and woman are joined one and I agree with that statement even in finances in my marriage there is no her money and my money it's both of our money and both of our finances and we both are working together on a shared goal so for some married couple this is going to work really well but what I generally suggest based on my faith-based principle is that there should be no her money my money it should be our money because we are one team.
