## Транскрипт

### Segment 1 (00:00 - 02:00) []

And breaking student loan news, the latest status report from the Department of Education on repayment plan processing and loan forgiveness processing just dropped today and I'm going to do a quick two-part series here on what all these numbers mean because we need to break apart repayment plan processing from PSLF buyback. So, I'm going to start at the top with IDR processing this month and this matters so much because there are 7 million of you in the SAVE plan that are changing your repayment plans next 6 months and you need to know these numbers. So, if you notice only 321,000 people submitted an application last month, which is surprising given the emails, but you'll notice that the highest number of applications ever processed, 424,000, happened last month. They are doing a pretty good job of moving through the applications. There are still 553,000 pending applications, but I think a lot of those are going to end up being in that denied pile because they're old, they're outdated, uh they were paper applications, they don't match the new repayment plans. So, it'll be interesting to see what happens to that. It's also really cool to see the next box there, 21,000 people got loan forgiveness related to IDR plans. That includes 10,500 for IBR, 9,900 for ICR and I'm really confused on the 800 Pay As You Earn, especially because people shouldn't have been eligible, but I'm really curious on what that is. I'm going to try to dive more into the numbers on that. But, for those of you that need to change your repayment plans, now is the time. While they are significantly improving processing, I have seen a tiny slowdown. I used to say it was about 3 to 7 days. I'll tell you right now that 7 to 10 days is what I'm seeing most likely with all the loan services except one and I will let you guess which one that is. So, with that being said, please send this to a friend that needs to know it and like, subscribe, and follow the College Investor here for the latest and stay tuned for part two when we're going to talk all public service loan forgiveness.
