What Happens After You File an I-751. If you’re removing conditions on your green card, you need to understand what this stage really means for your status, your ability to work and travel, and the risks if something goes wrong. In this video, I walk through why your I-751 receipt notice matters so much, what to expect with interviews, and why an I-751 denial can quickly turn into immigration court and removal proceedings.

### Segment 1 (00:00 - 01:00) []

If you're filing for your I-751, the very first thing that you're going to get is your receipt notice, and it is extremely important, guys. Do not lose it. You need the original. That is your proof of your extension. That is the proof that you are still a valid green card holder. That is what is your proof of your being able to work and for you be able to travel internationally with your expired card and your passport. And will you get an interview? Well, I have to say that almost every single I-751 that we have filed in the past year and a half has gotten an interview. It is extremely important to work with a skilled attorney because if your I-751 gets denied, it is immediate notice to appear in court. There's no discretion, and you'll end up in removal proceedings, and you don't want to get there. We have worked on so many complicated, complex I-751s where the clients were divorced. There was zero evidence. We know how to prepare you. stand up to nasty immigration officers who are trying to take our clients' rights away. And there's one thing that I will not stand for, and that is an immigration officer that is going to treat my client badly.
