## Описание

75% of the Earth’s land surface has been significantly altered by human hands. One Tree Planted is on a mission to change that.

We don’t ask where we can plant trees. We ask where trees can restore the most life.

Our work prioritizes the restoration of 14 critical landscapes—places where forests, people, wildlife, and climate intersect. Where reforestation can weave broken ecosystems and fragmented habitats back together.

This is how we rebuild the living infrastructure that sustains all of life on Earth.

Our goal is ambitious: to restore 500,000 hectares of land across 5 global regions by 2035. Together, we know we can make it happen. Join us.

FAQ: Our 2035 Landscape Restoration Strategy

What are One Tree Planted Global Priority Landscapes?
The landscapes where we work are some of the world’s most biologically diverse yet severely degraded places—and reforestation is urgently needed. They are prioritized based on several factors, including:
1. Ecological processes
2. Demonstrated environmental need
3. Existing restoration programs
4. Strategic alignment

What is forest landscape restoration?
Restoration at landscape scale is a strategy that intentionally focuses reforestation and restoration initiatives in global landscapes that have been identified as having the greatest need. These areas typically have experienced significant land degradation, are in climate critical regions, or house Key Biodiversity Corridors.

How is this different from regular tree planting?
Tree planting is one of several effective landscape restoration strategies. It involves establishing trees in specific locations that have experienced significant land degradation. Landscape scale restoration, by contrast, involves coordinating many planting and management strategies across an entire landscape.

Looking at the bigger picture allows One Tree Planted to consider all of the factors that impact and interact with a given planting area. Based on these unique impacts, processes such as tree planting, assisted natural regeneration, or agroforestry are used to improve biodiversity, water, soil, and livelihoods.

🌲 About One Tree Planted:
One Tree Planted is an environmental nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation and the restoration of degraded landscapes through one practical, science-based solution: trees. Since 2014, we have planted 171 million trees with 489 partners across 84 countries. Our work prioritizes degraded landscapes, climate-critical regions, and Key Biodiversity Areas—places essential to biodiversity, ecological balance, and community resilience.

75% of Earth's land has been altered by human hands, and up to 40% is degraded. Putting food systems, water security and biodiversity at risk. The degradation is real, but so is the solution. Through the power of trees we can heal the planet. We can repair soil, purify water. Regulate climate. Preserve biodiversity and support community wellbeing. Not plot by plot, but landscape by landscape. Because landscape level reforestation is how we rebuild the living infrastructure that sustains all life on Earth. So we don't ask, where can we plant trees? We ask, where can trees restore the most life? That led us to focus on 14 priority landscapes globally. Where reforestation can weave broken ecosystems and fragmented habitats back together into one resilient, life sustaining whole. This is our landscape model. Science based, community led, designed for long term impact. Here's a glimpse at just a few of the critical landscapes we're restoring around the world. In the Pacific Northwest of the U. S. and Canada, we are planting fire adapted trees to rebuild soils and repair watersheds after devastating wildfires. In the Atlantic Forest of Brazil, critical restoration reconnects fragmented habitats, allowing wildlife to move, survive and thrive. In the Guinean forests of West Africa, we aim to bolster food security and support the economies of local communities through vital regenerative agroforestry programs. Our work on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia restores some of the world's oldest forests, supporting orangutans, coastal resilience, and indigenous stewardship. Along the Mediterranean and southern Europe, we're restoring biodiversity, strengthening ecosystem resilience and increasing community employment in the critical Leiria forest. Different places. Different needs. One connected strategy. Our goal is ambitious to restore half a million hectares of land by 2035 across 5 regions in 14 priority landscapes. We know restoration works. It's whether we'll choose to do it. Boldly. Together. Now. Explore all 14 landscapes and see how trees are restoring life.
