## Описание

If your Nissan Versa sunroof does not open and close reliably, lubricate the tracks! Or ye shall befall a fate similar to myself... with much gnashing of teeth and breaking of plastic in thy future...

The overhead lights and sunglasses compartment has parts that can pop off, almost exposing a manual Allen Wrench mechanism to manually close the sunroof. ALMOST.

Are ya faint of heart? Do ya fear breaking tiny bits of plastic? Are ya a puss? THEN STOP! Go no further, for what you shall see will forever scar your soul.

It was PLASTIC! A tiny piece of PLASTIC which I broke! And I don't regret it a tiny bit.

For that tiny bit of plastic was all that stood between my and a closed 2010 Nissan Versa sunroof.

Am I ashamed I broke that piece of plastic? No... I'n glad I did it, and I'd do it again.

In fact, that's a nice 2010 Nissan Versa you've got there... mind if I check something out with my pliers... it won't take but a moment...

...and if you normally watch my videos and were expecting a nuclear power video... I just wanted to try something totally different (given what happened) and see what happens. Sorry if this non-nuclear video feels like spam... let me know and I'll perhaps never-ever do this again. -Gord

We have a 2010 Nissan Versa and the sunroof was stuck. It seemed really intermittent for the longest time. It would open and then it wouldn't close again. I'm gonna show what I did so that it would close again and you can decide for yourself whether you think it was a stupid thing to do. These things pop out so I can get access to an Allen bolt. I'm using an Allen wrench to manually close the sunroof. I'm trying to access the motor. Never made... this little tiny motor up here... It never made any sound so it wasn't like any indication it wasn't turning. So that there can be turned with an Allen wrench. And I couldn't get access to that because there was a little piece of plastic that was out here and I never would have even thought of looking for that if it wasn't other people with YouTube videos saying there's an Allen wrench. But of course their Allen wrenches were not covered by plastic. This was a little piece of plastic. It didn't seem to do anything. It all folds back in and it stays secure. So I'm not sure what it was there for unless it was there to hide that. My suggestion is use some pliers and you work the little piece of plastic till it just snaps off and it gives you direct access with an Allen wrench. And then by turning that you could see every turn it closed the sunroof a little teeny bit. I cleaned the tracks with paper towel with WD-40 type stuff on it. That didn't matter until I was able to physically move it with that. That let the oil kind of distribute. It seems to be permanently fixed and maybe when I knew it was jamming I would have been better served by applying some WD-40 and cleaning it back then before it completely jammed. But once it's jammed then you might have to do something like I did. Of course there's also probably a way of accessing that without breaking this piece of plastic, but... I couldn't tell how much of this would have to come down. Is it this? Does that just pop off? I don't know. I don't want to try pry at it and find out. I couldn't find any videos explaining to me whether this would pop off or not. But someone did make it at least clear that this comes out and it comes out pretty easily. And of course after I snapped that piece of plastic I was very concerned: is this going to pop back in? And yeah it does pop back in. And that's kind of why I wonder why the plastic was in the first place. I can't see anything about this being less secure than it was before. You know? Ah... Good times.
