Bouts of excessive drinking, known to drink to the point of obvious intoxication, excess, rightly paranoid. Those are descriptions of FBI director Cash Patel from a blockbuster article in The Atlantic that dropped on Friday, April 17th. Rumors have long swirled around Washington that Patel is flailing at his job, that he's terrified of being fired, and that he parties to excess. Reporter Sarah Fitzpatrick got more than two dozen sources to confirm it, and the city went wild. Multiple sources said Patel drinks to obvious intoxication at Neds, a private club in Washington DC, and the Poodle Room in Las Vegas, where he frequently spends his weekends. Patel raced to Fox News where he announced that he was going to sue the pants off The Atlantic. — Tomorrow, you will be dropping a lawsuit against The Atlantic magazine. — Yes. Yes, I will. — The complaint alleges one count of defamation and demands $250 million in damages. The complaint also does not allege a single dollar of lost income for Patel. But if this turkey of a lawsuit against The Atlantic ever does get to Discovery, Patel is going to have to sit for film depositions and answer questions under oath about his drinking night by night, venue by venue, hangover by alleged hangover.
