Here in the movie, we've simply just see forward-facing shots from the car as the track rushes towards us. Point of view of the car. All the noises have disappeared. And they design an entire soundscape that is more ambient than anything else. And instead of feeling chaotic, the moment feels almost weightless. As if the driver isn't just racing anymore, he's flying. This is a really nice change of pace. We've had action, action, and now everything is quiet, and it's all about him taking it in. The film transforms what would normally be a mechanical event and sometimes anticlimactic. He's flying. Remember the Netflix show what happened in the final lap. Netflix does something very similar, but they still have to rely on flashbacks and an internal monologue to give us the dramatic weight of this moment. Trying to take everything in. This is the biggest moment of my life.
