Now, many entrepreneurs default to doing only high- flow activities. This creates a schedule and a day-to-day experience for the entrepreneur that feels fun and flowy, but it comes at a cost of maximizing business growth. And this is called hideonic prioritization. It is the habit of prioritizing what you derive psychological pleasure from over what the business actually needs. Every entrepreneur has their own hedenism bucket that contains all the tasks that a given entrepreneur really loves indulging in. For me, it's things like highle strategizing, designing new offers, content development. I could do that stuff all day long. It's a blast, but often it's not what's required for business growth. Now, your hedonism bucket is going to look different to mine. It may include developing marketing collateral. It may include endlessly coaching team members and helping them grow. It varies by entrepreneur, but the pattern is the same. The trap is thinking that if you're in flow, you must be doing the right work. Just consider the top CEOs in the world. People like Sacha Nadella of Microsoft or Bezos, they don't filter their day based on what gets them into a flow state. These mature advanced operators filter what they work on based on what is going to maximally drive business growth. So the question then becomes, if your goal is business growth, how do you stop hydonic prioritization?
