## Описание

There is a truth nobody talks about when it comes to productivity…

It’s not about working harder.
It’s not about motivation.

It’s about your environment.

In this video, I’m sharing my journey from a messy, low-cost setup to building a $5000+ high-performance command center that completely changed how I work, think, and operate as a DevOps Engineer.

This is not a flex.
This is not a sponsored video.

This is about removing friction and designing a system that actually supports deep work, focus, and consistency.

If your current setup feels chaotic… this video might completely change how you see your workspace.

### [0:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot-Uk6ZBFfQ) Segment 1 (00:00 - 05:00)

there's very uncomfortable truth that most people don't talk about. When it comes to productivity, we've been sold this idea that flexibility is freedom. by working from anywhere is the dream. All you need is a laptop and a Wi-Fi to succeed. And on the surface, that sounds like very empowering. But in reality, what we have normalized, are the environments that are completely hostile to deep thinking. And what I mean by this is work from the beds that are meant for the rest. we sit on the chairs that slowly damage our posture. you stare at the screens with like poor lighting and the messy desks and then cables everywhere. I feel like this is all screwed up somewhere. You know, we expect ourselves to perform at a high level when you're kind of, like sitting in a messy environment. Completely, That was something wrong, you know, that was completely wrong. And I've misunderstood this, like, the whole time. Especially like when I was feeling really tired after the work or like, you know, was not able to, like, give it more attention. I've understood this. know, the problem is not that people are lazy The problem is, most people are working environments that were never designed for excellence. I'll show you what I mean. small table wires everywhere. Laptop barely fitting in, no structure. No system. Everything was like messed up. Like, even if I had to, like, you know, put in something like I had to squeeze it in. At that time, I thought it was fine because, you know, I didn't have any money. And like, I was studying in a college in the US, was doing a bachelor's, so I didn't have enough money for that. I told myself, like, If I'm getting the work done, what's the issue? I mean, bro, who cares, right? Well, that's where we went wrong. Like, I understood this, like, over the years. now I do a lot more different stuff now. So then I used to think like I would sit down in a cluttered and inefficient environment where not even getting my work done and expect my brain to operate like a high performance system. I mean, that's not possible, right? Like it's just like this. Like if you don't have an infrastructure like, you know, proper infrastructure, like the system is going to collapse at some point of the So that contradiction kind of hit me hard, like, I was fine with like one small desk where I had just like one monitor and the laptop was good at that point. But should understand that invisible enemy is the cognitive load on something in your brain. every cable you see, every message surface, every uncomfortable posture also matters a lot. Like let's say I mean, I've been sitting like this for like whole day. mean, by the end of the day, you just kind of have a neck pain or really bad back pain, right? so your brain will process all of it, like not consciously but constantly. it's kind of like it silently drained my energy or the time, I would lose focus after some time. Like I couldn't work longer hours. And you get distracted easily. And our time. It limits how real you think. I used to sit on a gaming chair. As I told you before, I was some, like, something that I got from Amazon for like, hahaha, 50 bucks, started hurting my back. Like you know, especially, I was having lower back pain for sitting for longer hours. So I switched to an H bottle ergonomic chair. and honestly. This wasn't an upgrade. It was the correction that I made. I spent like about $650 of like $800 on this. But, you know, you get some extra foot rest and everything in there. But the really good, cool thing is the like how it functions, like an ergonomically like it doesn't hurt your back in the long term. don't feel tired you know, and you can keep your back straight. Or if you want to just like vest for some time, can just like lay back. all the other chairs, they have it. But I feel like my posture got better after like using this chair. mean, there are some expensive options out there too. Like you can put $2,000, but it depends on like, you know, what suits you better. So try it with something that that suits you better. But for me, I feel like this chair was much better compared to the other ones. you would know what I mean by this if you worked late nights for, like, longer hours, like, you know, you would feel like really this comfortable. So this is not just about comfort. This is about the performance. You know, started thinking about, like, you know, having a longer desk, I started YouTube. I was having, like, more, more laptop, like one person, one one, one work laptop, Then came the biggest investment. secretlab Magnus Parexel desk, I don't like this. The $9 is what I spend. I ask me, wow. Like, why is it $59? It's all magnetic table every wire is inside the table. So, like, only get a single world, it doesn't look messy down there. And at the same time, it doesn't look messy here and there. This is a seven inch desk, and I needed that space because like, what sits on top of it is what I see and what I experienced throughout my day. The Samsung G9 curved monitor that I got in a deal like on Thanksgiving or something like for like $1,200. So I was on a deal, but the original cost was about eight and $800. So I'll put the link down below. You can check it out for all of the three I felt like the 49in. kind of like, you know, work for me better don't have to turn my head around like longer time. I see everything at once. Logs, dashboards, code, slack, teams, everything. Like whatever I want. I can just, like, glance at it, like, right there with, like, multiple windows open so I don't have to do this, command tab or, like, you know, all tab and all that stuff there. Every single cable is fit under something in the back tray, it closes properly, So when you don't see cables, you don't think chaos. Simple, right. I also ordered the desk Razer to elevate the monitor.

### [5:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot-Uk6ZBFfQ&t=300s) Segment 2 (05:00 - 10:00)

Well, you might ask me why. Why do you need this desk riser? Like you got a better posture, better viewing angle, and the cleaner layout? You know, you don't have to, like, put the monitor on top of it on top of the table and them, like, be made. Look like very messy one. Right. And then it aligns with my like, you know, the height of the laptop so that I put it on here. well here comes my favorite part. The lighting I'm a camera enthusiast. also do like some video graphy tool. lighting changes everything. I've invested more into some going. Again, I'm not promoting them, so I'll put the link down below for the rope lights that I've used. So it perfectly wraps around my desk, I feel like it kind of defines the setup. and back of the monitor, there's all the inbuilt lights that comes up with the monitor, but that's not bright enough. you want to have something that reflects the wall and then like, know, be something cool. So behind the G9 monitor, like I've put up some monitor backlight which I got for like 80 or 1, 20 bucks or something to go monitor. I'll put the link down below for that too. It reduces strain especially like, you know, you don't have to, know, looking at a giant screen, especially with like such a high bright brightness. And the resolutions just want to make sure that, you know, you have enough light around you to, like, not strain your eyes. given that Ice training, you just want to make sure that there's some light bar on top of it. just to make sure you don't get the glare of the monitor. So I mounted on the top. So where it lights the desk without any glare. So even if I after like work on the night, I don't have to worry about turning on all my lights there. It's just lights the desk and the in the monitor without any glare. So it's all cool. Now my desk lights itself. And my focus stays here. under the desk there. There's some space for the salt sound bar or something that you can put in. So I installed both sort of sound bar. Which I feel like, you know, it's adding up to marketing and not like post-production work that I do. it also adds up to my work workspace, too, I don't have to like, you know, increase my volume every time I'm in the meetings or something. Well, the good part is that it connects well with my Mac and also my mics that I use. I want something with the noise cancellation tool or I can use like, you know, AirPods, but you know that doesn't work well with the noise cancellation. I took a boss chick ultra took out for like 3 to $400. there's even been my magnetic holder for the table. So it's always accessible. noise cancellation is at the peak. So, the sound quality for the boss is, like, always good. I mean, they're always great. I really love sound. I've got this HyperX, quad cast mic that, like years back to do some podcast along with the podcast, like, you know, this kind of helped me to get like lot of interviews, actually, when people like recruiters see me through the video call or something and then it's cleanly mounted it like it's, it's no clutter. It's like a professional audio system. Right? So it kind of looks cool to them. Like, okay, there's a guy like, you know, just sits professionally like a podcaster and he's just talking about some DevOps stuff. And then like, you know, it makes you look like more professional than your manager, to be honest. the sound part is good for me. everyone keeps telling me this. Like, you know, some of you might not even turn on your cameras during the teams call or like a Google Meet. This changed my presence. Now I look directly at the people during the meetings, the webcam is either at the top or the bottom, like you below looking like this. Or you'll be looking like this. Unless you're like looking into the camera every time. now, since with the plexi cam, I can look into their eyes, because it's magnetic. And then this is Insta360. link to is like, you know, it has some eye tracking which where we're like, let's say if I move here or here, it kind of tracks me very well. felt like it was really good for like, you know, better communication. Like, now I have more authority. I have, like, more confidence because, like, it just gives you 4K video. On a video call like that was really cool. I mean, like, I look clear, I look bigger in history. So it's really cool. So I really like that. that was a worthy upgrade, was about like, you know, $300 to altogether. I'll put the link down in the description. Coming to the control system. So this is where I've thought a lot about. I've tried everything. And then I, I ended up with, like, Razer mechanical keyboard. I'll put the link down in the description, but for like, you know, one Sony or like $200, it's like precise, fast, reliable. So good. And like, you know, the kind of mechanical noise that it makes when I'm typing in kind of like makes you feel like, you know, you want to type more. it's like a kind of like a typewriter noise. So it's I really like it. But it's up to you, like, I mean, if you don't want to spend more money on it, I also got a Logitech G502 XOR mouse. so far throughout my entire career. Like especially, I think in six years I've changed about like 25 mouses. So I took this one and it has like more customizable buttons, like I can just do like copy paste or, or I can just quickly open some terminal, I So, I can assign buttons like as a one and it's not RGB, so just cool. I mean, you know. this is an optional upgrade. Amex Square Creative Console I love this for like 200 to $200. This is where like things get very really powerful. I really didn't wanna spend money on that. I must create a console. But, like, as I was editing and like, I was doing constant things like command C, command V every time, like an, lot more different shortcuts. I felt like I should have something extra, Trust me, it's a game changer for me, at least for me. It was like really easy to like switch between apps It's really useful for editing and like, all I like doing, like going through some timelines or something. it's like a I'm in a parallel universe, you know, like I automate everything, have shortcuts, I felt this was a game changer for me. Having this kind of keyboard and mouse are like the most creative console, kind of like, you know, you can do things like, really faster, when you add everything, the setup is roughly about.

### [10:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot-Uk6ZBFfQ&t=600s) Segment 3 (10:00 - 12:00)

just to be clear, I'm not promoting any of this products. These are not sponsored for me or I'm not sponsoring them. So this is just what genuinely worked for me over the years. So after years of trial and error, I'm like, you know, trying out everything. or I'm not flexing my money here. This not this setup is not about money. It's not about esthetics or like, it's not about some fancy lighting around the stuff. mean, when, whenever I used to like, you know, starting my college, I always used to think about starting now, if you have, like, a bigger table and like, you know, have some, like, you know, this lighting setup and all that. I'm always crazy about lights. So, I mean, I love, I love lights. So every hit on cable, every optimize tool, every intentional placement, It just makes working easier. So you don't become productive by working harder. You become productive by designing a system where working becomes easier. I started with this. A $200 setup full of chaos. And today, I operate here. Control. Clarity. Focus. You don't waste to your goals. fall to your systems. I'm glad, like, I'm able to do this, like, you know, sooner in my life, you know, understanding the importance of the, the set up and everything. I think like it's, it's more important for you guys to. So try it out. Like, let me know, like what you think in the comments below. I'll put the extra lungs links down in the below so you can check it out again. There's no promotion for this. There's no coupon codes for this. if you get for the cheaper price, let me know in the comments. I'm Avi and this is my narrative. I'll see you all the next video.
