I can't believe I've been living in my first solo big girl apartment in Chicago for almost six months now. Because even though I've made so much progress with transforming this space, there are still a few spots that have been bothering me since I moved in. So, it's finally time for the ultimate ride of passage, a very intentional IKEA run. First thing on my list is a new media console because, as you can see, my media and vinyl setup has gotten very cluttered, and it's hard to reach my record player at the very top of this shelf. I just feel like it does not look good. And the second thing I want to tackle is this huge empty space above my kitchen cabinets because I feel like it's begging for some greenery or at least something. So, we're on the hunt for some perfect plants to bring it to life. But obviously, we can't make any major design decisions without getting some fuel in our system. So, we first stopped by the food court. And then after minutes of browsing, I immediately found the perfect media console that can go next to my TV. It fits the space perfectly. And we're going to stain the wood so that it matches better. And then now entering the kitchen section. And guys, my goal is to have a super organized fridge that looks kind of like this with like the containers and stuff. I don't know how practical it is, but I see videos and it's so satisfying. So, I got this one for my drinks. And then we also needed a mixing bowl, so I got this one. I had to stop myself from buying this really cute cutlery set. I couldn't tell if it was giving sreé dupe or just childish. And then of course, I ran into the famous doughnut lamp. I was actually shocked that this was in stock, but I did stop myself from buying it because I don't know if it's like overhyped and overpriced. If you have that lamp, please let me know if it's worth it. There were so many, so maybe I'll have to go back. But then after that, we got to the plant section. And unfortunately, I do not have a green thumb. So, I only have like two living plants in my apartment, and the rest are going to be fake. I'm hoping my best friend Haley doesn't see this because she will be very much ashamed. She has like the greenest thumb of anyone that I've ever met and has so many plants in her apartment. But sadly, I just do not trust myself to keep that many plants alive. At least not yet. But I ended up getting all of these plants and the media console. So stay tuned for how I use it and decorate
