### The 5 Levels of Confidence []

Why are some people completely confident in every single situation while others as smart as qualified like you sometimes fall apart the moment pressure hits? The answer is not talent. It's not personality. It's which of these five levels of confidence they are operating from. Hi, this is Bashal Sakar, India's highest paid public speaking coach. And for the last 16 and a half years, I've been training leaders, executive and professionals from companies like Microsoft, IBM, Google, Cisco, Apple. And in this video, I'm going to show you what I see as what I call a single biggest gap. And that is not knowledge, it's confidence. So, let's fix your confidence problem once and for all today. Level one is the foundation. And

### Level 1: Confidence Is a Skill, Not a Personality Trait [0:37]

without it, nothing works. Most people believe that confidence is a fixed character trait that you either have it or you don't. Some people are just born with this magical magnetic commanding energy and others simply are not. That is completely bull. Confidence is a skill just like communication is a skill. Just like leadership is a skill, it can be learned, practiced and built by anyone. The moment you truly believe that, you have already crossed level one. Because the first step to becoming a confident speaker is simply believing that you can. Because once you accept that your confidence is a skill, you move to level two, which is called

### Level 2: Behavior-Based Confidence [1:11]

behaviorbased confidence. And you might be thinking, what is behavior-based confidence? At this level, you start focusing on your external habits, your body language, your posture, the pace at which you speak. You adopt habits that signal comfort and ease to the people around you. For example, you slow down your speaking pace. When you slow down, you appear more in control, more thoughtful. It has a direct physiological effect. It calms your nervous system and reduces anxiety in that moment. Another behavior is responding at your own pace. You don't rush to feel silence. You pause. You think, you answer when you're ready. That kind of composure is very good. And it's very good because it creates automatic impression of confidence. On the other side, sometimes you have to also speed up while expressing your enthusiasm. Listen, energy is contagious. When you speak with excitement, the room rises with you. These behaviors are powerful starting point. They will absolutely help you in a short in the short term. But there is limitation. Behavior based confidence is not sustainable. It depends on how you feel on a given day. It can drop when you're tired. Someday you're stressed. Say you had some fight with your wife or husband and oh my god my confidence is going down which is exactly why you need level three confidence. Before we go further by the way if this is giving you real value hit that subscribe button. Do you see a subscribe button there? Yes. Hit that subscribe button and turn on the bell notification. Okay. So every single week whenever I share new video to help you speak with confidence, YouTube will notify you. At level three

### Level 3: Competence-Based Confidence [2:39]

your confidence comes from your competence. Not from how you look, stand, not because of your hairstyle or your body. It's not because of that. They come from how prepared and how experienced you are in specific situation. This is where the rep mindset becomes everything. Rep stands for, by the way, rep. It stands for repetition. You build confidence in specific situation by repeatedly exposing yourself to those exact situations, especially the ones that make you feel uncomfortable. For example, are you nervous about speaking in meetings? Start by recording yourself at home. Talk to the camera. Watch the footage. Identify what you need to improve and then gradually push your comfort zone. Speak up in smaller meetings first and then larger meetings. Break the scary situation into manageable steps and then take that step. Every repetition adds a new layer of confidence that is real, that is earned and that is specific to that situation. Listen, level three confidence sometimes can be shaken. It's tied to external experiences. But what if you don't have experience externally in specific situation? If you fail in a situation, your confidence will still take a hit. So to become truly confident, you need level four. This is

### Level 4: Unshakable Confidence Through Values [3:44]

called the unshakable value and it comes from your own source, your own personal values. Values are ideas that guide your behavior, the principles that you stand for. For example, let's say that you have not done a project before. You are not confident about it. But if you have level four confidence because of your value, you think I will figure it out. Here your internal confidence becomes rooted in something that no external event can shake. Here's why it matters. And here is why it's very powerful. Most people measure their confidence conditionally. It goes up when they are promoted. It crashes when they are rejected. It rises when people praise them. It goes down when people criticize them. That is not confidence. That is conditional feeling good. It is exhausting. But when your confidence is rooted in your own values and in your belief system, you know what? I can figure it out. That's when you stop measuring yourself against external outcomes. You start measuring yourself relative to your past self. Am I growing? Yes. Boom. Am I living according to what I believe? Yes. That's the only question that matters. And the most beautiful thing about level four is that your version of confidence is personal to you. Because listen, everyone has different value, right? The person who's recording has a different value than me. You are who's watching For some people, confidence comes from honesty. From excellence. From some people, it comes from humor and warmth. Here is the question that will help you discover your value right now. What is one thing? Write this down. What is one thing that I'm doing wrong that I know could fix and that I would fix? Answer to the question will show you exactly where to start. Because when you live by your values, you stop needing validation from others. You won't look for approval in the room because you're no longer measuring yourself by the room's reaction. Boss, in-laws, doesn't matter. That is freedom. But then there is level five

### Level 5: Unlearning Self-Doubt [5:28]

the highest level. This is where you realize confidence was never really about the goal in the first place. Level five is about unlearning self-doubt. It's about having what psychology calls unconditional positive self-regard. Meaning treating yourself with genuine kindness, compassion, and not just when you succeed, but always. At this level, you stop trying to be confident all the time. You give yourself permission not to be perfect. You allow yourself to be vulnerable with people. Sometimes you can openly admit what you lack. That takes extraordinary courage. Paradoxically, only true confident people can do it. People at level five make fun of themselves easily because they are not pretending that everything is right. Their self worth is not tied to how they appear to others. And here's one important thing in this level five confidence. When you get rejected, you no longer take it personally. Isn't that freedom? You see it as a lack of skill to develop. You know, I'm not fit for it yet. It's not a rejection personally. You think, okay, something is missing. I'll fill it up. So, which level of confidence are you at right now? 1 2 3 4 5 drop your level in the comment section below and tell me one thing that's stopping you from the next level. Before I tell you the next step and about my master class, let's quickly recap the
