## Транскрипт

### Segment 1 (00:00 - 02:00) []

Day 14 of looks maxing for an entire year to find out what actually works and what's Why do I have a worse hairline on the right than the left? And why does Botox treat hair loss? These three studies found that injecting the muscles around the scalp with Botox led to an 18 to 21% increase in hair counts. In the 1990s, this paper came out explaining that in balding areas of the scalp, there was a 40% reduction in oxygen levels, suggesting less blood flow, too. It's well known that DHT causes balding in the scalp. And the author of that paper argued that a low oxygen environment may bias free testosterone to convert into DHT instead of estrogen. So yes, balding is a DHT problem, but DHT might be a low oxygen problem, which is a low blood flow problem. He also argued that it was probably tension in the scalp from tight muscles restricting blood flow. So, this might explain why the Botox was so effective. This personally made a lot of sense to me because my hairline on the right side is a lot worse off than the left side. And I have TMJ, meaning I clench my jaw all night, especially on the right side. And my right mass muscle is much stronger than the left. It actually used to be much worse. Also, I have more tension all up here on the right side, and it's easier to pinch the scalp on the left than on the right. Now, this was all laid out in much, much more detail on my channel by Rob English, a hair loss researcher and editor of a dermatology journal. Part of Rob's idea was that, well, if Botox works, then maybe if you relax the scalp with a specific set of massages, it could help with hair loss. He got 340 people to do these massages and report on their experience and got the data published as a survey study. Of the people who stuck to the massages for at least 10 minutes daily for eight months, 75% responded, meaning they either saw their hair loss stall or even got an increase in hair density. Like a proper researcher, Rob is very careful to say this isn't a magic bullet. This survey data, it's very, very low on the hierarchy of evidence. — I used to do head massages years ago, and it felt like it was working pretty well, but I stopped doing it because it just took too long. But now we're looks maxing, so I'm adding a 20-minute scalp massage at least 5 days a week to my protocol. I found that I got the best relaxation of the scalp tension if I focused on pinching, pulling, and wiggling the skin as much as I could, especially if I started low and work my way all the way up and do it all over the scalp. I'll do this for at least 6 months and let you know how it goes. Follow for more. Oh my god, this hurts.
