underrated skincare brands. There's just not enough time to talk about all the products and the brands that exist out there. And a lot of times we end up neglecting brands that actually have really great products. So, in this video, the purpose of this video is to highlight some of our favorite products from the brands that we just don't talk enough about, right? And just because some of these brands haven't gotten a lot of love on social media does not mean they haven't gotten a lot of love in real life. So, not only will we be sharing some of those brands with you, we'll also be talking about some hidden gems we are certain you have never tried. Hidden gems. Here we go. I have a whole list of brands that may be better than what you're using now. Maybe not. We're actually never proponents of changing something that's working for you. But let us start with

### [0:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_FGZMVBI_4&t=43s) Brand 1

the brand Eucerin. So Eucerin, we mentioned it in different places, but they really have a lot of hero products. And I actually think in some ways they perform better in terms of texture and moisturizing than some of the other brands that are out there. I think the two my two favorite products is their tinted SPF. I think it's SPF 35. We'll show it on the screen here. And their eczema moisturizer, which is the one that I use on my own body at times, and daughter. So, Eucerin is one of those drugstore brands, but I think what makes it unique to me, their whole catchphrase is like skincare or Eucerin that does more or something like that. But I actually think this is true. So, those two products are amazing. I like the intensive repair. It has some exfoliators plus a really thick thick with 3C hydrator for just that very damaged skin. But I love their radiant tone line. So this has thymadol. It's an ingredient for dark spots. Was available in Europe, now available in the US. But I specifically love their sunscreen because this is just a true new wave of sunscreen that both protects and so protects prevents dark spots and will actually help treat dark spots if you already have them. Right. So thamol is a resource derivative and it works quite well at treating dark spots. It's proprietary to the Eucerin brand and so you really only find it within that have limited options where you can get thamol from. But having a sunscreen that's also treating dark spots is really just going to be adding to your dark spot routine. Next up, and this is one of Dr. Maxfield's favorite brands, May Love.

### [2:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_FGZMVBI_4&t=120s) Brand 2

— Yeah. So, May Love, uh, I feel like I've heard less about them lately. More like Max Love. It kind of is. That works. Okay, so May Love, I actually love these products. I do use their serum still to this day, even though I don't hear much about them anymore. But their retinel product, they're so early with retinel. And this is actually one of my favorite smelling products of all time, even though that's kind of illegal for a dermatologist to say. — Crime. cry. But also, one of my most frequently used products for them is their dark spot serum. I just am a sucker for colors, so I love the green aesthetic, but I also do love how they have complimentary ingredients to help address that one problem. My personal favorite from the brand is the peptide squad. I've become a huge fan of copper peptides just in general. My skin tolerates extremely well and in many cases can be a vitamin C substitute for me in my routine. And they have an affordable version of this. Copper peptides are one of the most expensive ingredients that you can formulate with. And so a kilogram costs like tens of thousands of dollars. And so when you get a high concentration of copper peptide at a relatively affordable price, you know you're getting a good deal on a product. So going back to the

drugstore, I think there was this old heritage battle between Cedaphil Caravee. When we first started residency, it's like was bad. It was cereophily. But Caravee caught this wave of social media love and Cedaphil kind of got left behind. So let's bring it back a little bit. They have some incredible hero products that are going to do wonders for your skin. — Yeah, they have some amazing products and it's sort of interesting. Everything grew during the skincare boom over the last 5 years and Cedaphil also grew alongside Caravee, but Caravee just grew a lot faster and so it became the bigger brand in the end. Actually, now Caravee is slightly on the decline if you look at actually retail data and Cedaphil is actually still on the incline, but Caravee became the much bigger brand in the end. So Cedaphil has some incredible products. I really like their restooderm line. It's got some really great eczema and barrier repairing ingredients. And I also like their I think it's their Dermapro line which is their oil absorbing sunscreen. So probably my favorite sunscreen that I often recommend to my patients especially with oily skin is their oil absorbing sunscreen cuz I think it's just a phenomenal product. For me I think you think cetaphil you think sensitive skin but I'll actually diverge a little bit from that because one of their great products is their vitamin C serum. It's just a very simple neoeththylcorbic acid. So a staple form vitamin C. If you're like looking for an affordable introduction to vitamin C and you want to try something a little less traditional, love that one. Additionally, I think their acne line is topnotch. They have this micronized benzel peroxide wash that will help minimize irritation, still extremely effective. And then they have this mattifying acne moisturizer with kjic acid and licorice to help with dark spots. Those are excellent for acne

skin. Next up is Vanic Cream. And I would say underrated in terms of social media advertising, but not underrated in the sense that people aren't talking about it. This brand actually does extremely well and again a brand that's super on the rise. Now you mentioned Cetaphil for sensitive skin before but I actually think Vany cream is truly the brand for sensitive skin because they just have more rigor around ingredient formulation. For Cedaphil for example you'll find fragrance in their products and they don't have the level of discipline I would say that Vanic Cream does around formulation. So, this is something I pay very close attention to cuz Remedy has a very strict formulation guideline and so it's tempting to try to use ingredients outside of that cuz it could make it easier and maybe even make the experience better for consumers, but you have to stick within that guideline if you're going to stick to a core ethos. And so, I think Vany Cream as somebody who doesn't have to turn over every product to make sure it is safe for sensitive skin. I feel like Vanagram is one of the more reliable brands when it comes to sensitive skin. And so, I really like their SPF, zinc oxide SPF. It actually blends really well for a zinc oxide sunscreen. And then also their vanic cream cleanser. The gentle skin cleanser I think is a phenomenal product. — Yeah, it's interesting because when you think of clean beauty, you know, we all have different derivations, different ideas in terms of what that actually means. But Vany cream would probably be like a dermatologist's clean beauty. So minimally hypoallergenic, so simple in terms of formulation. I do love their cream in a tub. It's just a thick moisturizer and if you just are really not wanting to guess at all in terms of will it be safe for your skin, it's a big tub. It's going to do really well for you. And I like their deodorant, too. So this is an antipersperent — anti-persperent. Yeah. The first oh the terminology. Yes. Anti not like this was like a thing that people paid attention to 2 years ago. But yes, so this is an antipersperent. It also will help stop odor because it stops the perspiration. But this is an aluminum deodorant. And if you're allergic to aluminum, then it's not for you. But beyond that though, it's really hard to find any deodorant that's fragrance-free. Like you don't need to mask odor if you're not making it. And so this is a great antipers brand for

you. Next up is Necessary. This is a brand we actually talk about quite frequently only pretty much on YouTube specifically, but they have some incredible products. — Yeah, Necessary is almost borderline like guilty pleasure. It's not expensive like your luxury skincare, but is a little more pricey. Now, they focus on body care. Like there's one body care brand that is just truly dedicated only to this. It's necessary. I love their body retinol. It's a combination of retinol exfoliating acids. It's been around for a long time. It's amazing for hands, body. It's a really good one. Now, my guilty pleasure from them that I just absolutely can't get enough is actually their body wash. I love Necessa's body washes. And so, you know, is it really something you have to dedicate your time to or your money to? No. But I love the eucalyptus one. I think it's incredibly sensorally great. And every time we talk about showers, actually, or like bathroom routines, the experience is actually a huge part. part. — So, I love the Eucalyptus body wash. I never get enough of it. It's one of my most frequently repurchased ones. And yes, it is better than Bath & Body Works. It's like a subtle mature scent. — Yeah. So, shower has become a ritual for me as I've said and so I do believe having something that gives you that elevated experience is really nice, especially as I've aged. And what I like about Necessary is that they offer all of these sensorials in a fragrance-free option. So, for people who have sensitive skin, it kind of blurs the line, right? You have fragrance line of shampoos, for example, and then you have their fragrance-free line of shampoo. You have fragrance-free body moisturizers and you also have your fragrance body moisturizers. So, so people can pick and choose depending on how sensitive you are. So, it's not excluding anyone, which I think is a rare for a lot of the body care brands that do focus on the sensorials. I really like their rosemary shampoo. I think it's a phenomenal product and it just has like a nice sensoral to it and I just I like the way the packaging looks in the shower. Just like overall the experience is really good and it leaves my hair feeling very clean but not overly stripped. Next up, two very unrelated brands. We're going to be talking about a similar product from the

### [8:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_FGZMVBI_4&t=488s) Brand 6

brand. So, first is Then I Met You. Now, this is a Korean brand, but it's available at Sephora. And what I like about their cleansing balm specifically is that it is yellow. No, it's more of like a oily cleansing balm. I don't know how to describe it. There are cleansing balms that are more balike and those tend to be a bit stiffer. I don't know how to explain it any other way. And then there are cleansing balms that are a bit more oily. And an example of one of those would be Alamus, which is a bit more on the oily side. And then one that's a bit stiffer would be something like Pharmacy or Remedy which tend to be a bit of a harder balm. This is more of that oily balm and it's just really a nice experience. It's really great at removing anything that's on the skin without overly stripping. And so this is a phenomenal product from Then I Met You. And then related to that is the

### [8:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_FGZMVBI_4&t=535s) Brand 7

brand Geek and Gorgeous. I actually bought this when I was I think in Germany and I saw it on the shelf and it was really affordable. I feel like it was close to maybe $10 or less than $15. And it's just a really, really nice cleansing balm. Again, a bit on the softer side, but incredible at removing things without stripping the skin. I would say that one of my favorite cleansing balms that I've ever tried, and he's made his own. So, I mean, to say be able to say that to make a cleansing balm tailored towards your preferences and have another that you love and feel like is one of your favorites, definitely a good testimony. And as we kind of talk about brands that aren't US-based, these are going to get either harder and harder or impossible to purchase. consider them like hidden gems and if you get it you're blessed.

### [9:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_FGZMVBI_4&t=573s) Brand 8

But the next one is theramid. We had talked about their azelleic acid serum. It was 15% which is equivalent to what we will prescribe for rosacea in the US. But the aesthetics of it were so good. Yes, this is a phenomenal aesthetic product and just being able to get that 15% load in a product is just amazing especially without not making it gritty for the skin. Now, this is part of a bigger group, which actually is a very successful international group based out of Spain called Niche Beauty Labs. And they have a whole range of products, and a lot of them are really good. I really, really like their cleansing oil. I was actually looking to go purchase a refill of their cleansing oil, but could not get it shipped to the United States. So, ever since this whole tariff debacle happened, they are no longer shipping at all to the United States. And so, I'm trying to figure out a way to get this into the United States, but yeah, you can't order it online anymore. you used to be able to. But one of my favorite products is their acid uh 15% aselic acid product and their cleansing oil is absolutely phenomenal. So if you're living internationally, this is a brand that I would definitely try out. And the next ones also are kind of like if you know, if you can get

### [10:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_FGZMVBI_4&t=631s) Brand 9

it, you can get it. Labor. They have a new sunscreen. This one is purple. It is beautiful and elegant. If you know, I love this brand. It's out of Indonesia. When I knew this product was launching, I like got to talk to them behind the scenes. It's for dark spots. So they have an incredible acne sunscreen. This dark spot sunscreen has some incredible unique technology to it which makes it particularly effective not only for just simple dark spots but mechanistically it could be particularly helpful for melasma and I can't get it. I mean we can get Korean sunscreens now but it's like black market Korean sunscreens. I don't know. It's not really but like I don't understand the international sunscreen trade. They won't ship it to me. They won't give it to me. I can't purchase it online. I cannot get the sunscreen. I've only tried the testers and I love it and I will never be able to use it unless something changes in the world. — I have not tried enough of these labor products that Dr. Maxfield is always hyping up. I think I need to figure out a way to get these myself and be able to experience this phenomenal experience he's always talking about. And then

### [11:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_FGZMVBI_4&t=681s) Brand 10

related to this is a brand called Cough K Ahf. We said in a video and I think it was like that podcast style video. I don't have a hair product that I love. I do now. So what I like is a hair product that is stiff. It'll hold. Looks it makes it look a little bit voluminous. This is a cool packaging. It is. And the interesting thing about this one is it dries down firm, but I have it in today. You can manipulate it for the entire day and it's not stiff. It's not sticky. It doesn't feel heavy or greasy. And if I go get my hair wet, I can do a complete reset with this stuff. So, it's not like gel, but it's a very firm matte hold pomade. And I've never felt anything like this from texture. And as he smelled it, Cough is a men's line in Indonesia and they actually have a particular ethos for fragrance. And so, it's kind of a subtle masculine fragrance. But overall, found my hair

### [12:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_FGZMVBI_4&t=726s) Brand 11

product finally. Now on the category of hair care, another international brand but widely now available in the United States. You can get on Amazon, Tik Tok shop. I think they might be going into Sephora or a major retailer soon. And this is a brand called Dr. Groot. And I ordered this, I believe, from Tik Tok shop because I'm a fiend for Tik Tok shop. And I wasn't sure if I liked it the first time I used it, but then it kept looking at me in the shower every time I would shower. And I ended up using it a few more times after that. And I ended up really liking this product. I think that at first it's a little bit unlike most of the shampoos I use which tend to be more of that like creamy base and this is more of a gel formula and so I just maybe wasn't using it right the first time cuz you really have to kind of work it in there to get the right lather and the right results that you would want from a cleanser and sometimes you even need to double shampoo in order to get that result with this product. But I really ended up liking this a lot. So this is meant to be for fuller hair. It's supposed to increase the volume. I don't know if it does any of those things. But I think overall it doesn't strip my hair. It keeps my hair super hydrated. My hair doesn't feel flat afterwards and I felt like it was a nice experiential product for me. And this is really targeted towards hair growth and hair thickness and it is a Korean skincare brand. So if you are looking for Korean hair care, then this is a really great brand to should check out. Nice. Yeah, I'll have to use this one myself. Hair loss is like one of my top goals. Want to keep maintaining this for another 10 years and then perhaps I'll be satisfied. But definitely a good one. There's so few hair loss shampoos out there that really have anything meaningful in them. Definitely worth a

### [13:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_FGZMVBI_4&t=805s) Brand 12

try. And then finally to wrap this video up, shout out to Ilun, which we've mentioned before, another Korean brand, but their body moisturizer. That gel is just absolutely phenomenal. So, you really can't get much like this over here. 12 oz. Really affordable product, cool looking pump, and feels amazing on the skin. If you're looking for like a lightweight body moisturizer for the summer, I'd check out the Ilun ceramide ado lotion. Right. And just like I think in America, Caravee anchored their whole identity around ceramides. to kind of marry that relationship. Illune similarly has married their whole lineup around these encapsulated ceramides like slow release long hydration. I think the core messaging around this one is 100 hours of hydration. So in theory, you only need to moisturize every 3 to 4 days. So this is one of my favorites, too. Sensitive skin, Korean skincare brand, perfect. All right, so those are some underrated brands that we've loved. Let us know what are we not talking about that you all are thinking about consuming, trying yourselves. I feel like there's tons of brands we always leave out and if we haven't tried the products, we'll order them, we'll check them out, we'll give you our feedback. But thank you all so much for tuning in. We'll put some links below for any product that we mentioned, especially if it's available in the United States. And we'll see you next time.
