I'm just out here in my garden, but I was thinking about money and I thought that I would share something that has really helped my clients when dealing with their money and it's something simple that is not going to overwhelm you. Something you can do that's going to make an immediate impact is to create separate accounts for your money. So, at the very minimum, have a spending checking account, a bills checking account just for bills and then you pay your bills out of that account, and then a savings account, a high-yield savings account. The reason behind this is very simple [clears throat] and it's because if you are using one bank account for all of your money. So, your check comes into one account and you're doing all of your spending from that account. So, you're paying bills, you're getting groceries, you're getting gas, you're getting sweet treats and whatnot. It's all coming out of one account and you do not have a good grip on what is actually leaving that account. So, it is very easy for you to overspend. When you have the separate accounts, it creates separation in your money and you have much more control over what is actually happening. And this does not have to be some crazy like multi-account structure. It can be very simple. Like I said, three separate accounts. And when you get paid, you send the money to the different accounts where it goes.
