Did you know that you can control access and prevent unauthorized use of your IQ EV charger using RFID? To do this, purchase or use an existing RFID tag that operates at 13. 56 megahertz. It needs to be ISO 14443 A/B or ISO 15693. Register this tag with your IQ EV charger two on the Enphase app. You can then use the tag to authenticate charging sessions. In this video, we will demonstrate how to register your RFID tag and how to use it to authenticate charging sessions. To register your RFID tag, go to menu, settings, IQ EV charger, security, authentication. Here, enable authenticate sessions via RFID and click apply. Now, click on add tag to register your RFID tag. Once this message appears on your app, tap your RFID tag on the charger as shown. The blue light indicates that the charger recognizes the tag. Please wait until the tag is processed. You can rename the RFID tag as per your choice. Click on continue. Your tag is now successfully registered. Click on done. The newly added tag will appear under the added tags section. You can add up to 25 RFID cards to the charger and update or remove any tag from the security page under the settings menu. Now, let us see how to authenticate a charging session using the registered RFID tag. Plug the charger into your EV. The blinking green light indicates that the charger is plugged in and is ready to charge. Now, to authenticate the charging session, tap the registered RFID tag on the charger within 2 minutes as shown. The LED on the charger starts blinking blue indicating that the charging session has been authenticated and the EV is now charging. You can also tap the RFID tag first and then plug in your EV within 2 minutes. Once a charging session is authenticated, you can control charging in the app through the start stop button on the status page. Or, you can use the RFID card to authenticate the charging session. If you unplug the EV and plug it in again or the cable gets disconnected in the middle of session, you will need to re-authenticate the charging session. However, in case of a power loss during the charging session, the EV charger will resume charging with the same authentication when power comes back. You can also track which RFID card authenticated the session from EV session history page under the system menu page. This is how you can control access to your charger using an RFID tag.
