Google just released two new updates to Gemini and the first one is absolutely massive. This is going to make Gemini so much more powerful and useful. We'll talk about what that is first and then we'll talk about some updates to Google's video generation tools as well. So Google just announced this new feature called personal intelligence. And as you're going to see in a second, that is the perfect name. Personal intelligence strives to fix a major problem with Gemini. You see, even though you can come into Gemini and into the settings over to connected apps and actually connect up with different tools like Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, or Google Calendar, this integration, well, it hasn't been all that great. And that's because it would basically have to retrieve information from these scattered apps when you ask for it. But now, if you opt into personal intelligence, it almost treats all of that information from all those different apps as part of its knowledge base. So, it's able to form connections between all of your information from all of your scattered apps, and it will learn your preferences a lot better than it's ever been able to do in the past. For instance, if you ask Gemini to recommend tires for your car, it's going to look through Gmail and your photos first, so it can understand your car's make and model and even the type of trips that you like to take, so that the recommendation is a lot more relevant to you. It also means you don't have to give as much information in your prompt to actually get a response that's actually really helpful. And the key here is that the more context you're able to give it, the better the results you're going to get out of it. And this is something I've always struggled with AI in the past. Gemini has always been super helpful. And even though it's been able to connect to calendar and tasks and Gmail in the past, I always had to tell it to go in there and look for it or would have to look for very specific prompts like what messages do I have today? Now, it's on its own going to search all that different context to be able to get me the best results possible. And if you compare the results of regular Gemini with Gemini that has personal intelligence on, you'll be able to see a stark difference in the results. For instance, ask Gemini to recommend some hidden gems while you're traveling in Chicago. With personal intelligence off, it's going to give you very generic results that it probably pulled from like Trip Adviser. But with personal intelligence on, it's going to look through your Gmail. It will know when you're in Chicago. And then by looking at your Google photos, it will tell that for instance, you love nature photography. So based on that, it's going to give you very specific relevant things that you can do while you're in Chicago to meet your interests. As someone who loves reading, I'm really excited about the idea of using this to help me come up with some book suggestions because as Gemini understands my interest a lot more, those results are only going to get better and better with personal intelligence. Personal intelligence is currently rolling out over the next week to pro and ultra subscribers. And if you don't want to use this, you don't have to. the first time it becomes available to you. As soon as you log into Gemini, you will see a notification right on the home screen letting you know. At that point, you can choose if you want to opt into it or not. But personally, I will be turning on personal intelligence moving forward because of how much more helpful I think Gemini is going to be with it on. The next big update is to VO, which is Google's video generation model. So, they made some major improvements to ingredients to video. If you're not familiar with what this is, this is basically where you can take multiple images and have the video generation tool use those images to actually make the video. So, for instance, I came over here to Gemini, asked to create an image of some alien planet. Here we go. I'm just going to go ahead and copy that image. I'll open up a new chat. Paste in that image. I'll also upload an image of myself and then I'll tell it to create a video of me walking on this planet in a space suit. I'll go ahead and click on create video and submit that. Now, this is something that we were able to do in the past with Gemini using VO, but now VO has drastically improved because their ingredients to video. First of all, the character consistency is much better, as you'll see in a second, and also it's much better at using those reference images to actually create the videos. So here's what it came up with and you can see it's the exact same alien planet and that is me inside the space suit. It looks just like me. So it not only maintain the character consistency of me and my photo but also look at the background and then look at the image that we generated right here. The two are exactly the same. So it's able to do consistent characters, consistent backgrounds and consistent objects as well. A lot better than it was able to do in the past. Now, there are a few different places you can access VO3. 1. In addition to Gemini, one of the places is inside of Flow. This is a Google Labs tool. I really like this tool. And the reason I want to show you it right here

is because in addition to having ingredients to video in here as well. I also want to highlight that now you can use ingredients to video and produce videos that are portrait 9 by6. So, that's new as well. And you can also generate those 9 by6 videos using ingredients to video directly inside the app as well. That's what I did with this video after I uploaded a photo of myself hiking. You can see it kind of transformed it into this action fancy hero sort of video with this dragon. Looks super cool. And embarrassingly, I don't know how long this has been around because I don't normally generate videos using the app. But if you come into the app and click on create videos, it pops up this page right here. And again, I don't know how long this has been out. This could be out for a long time and I just have never used it. But this is this looks sort of similar to like what Sora has or even chat GBT where you can choose one of these templates to create a video. So the one that I used was where is it? Action hero. I clicked on this one and then I uploaded an image of myself and that's how I was able to create that. But you could also do different styles like cosmos or video game or cyberpunk or glam. If anyone knows in the comments section how long this has been around, please let me know. But this is something that personally I just discovered myself.
