So today we're going to be testing out open work which is an alternative that's just launched to claude coowork apparently is four times faster than claude for chrome and co-work token efficient. You can plug in your own API so you can get a free API and use this. We're going to be testing out today just seeing how it performs. So it's 100% free and open source and let's try it now. Let's take a look at this. Download it the Mac. Here we go. Now we're going to open up. Let's try running it through GitHub. There we go. By the way, interesting thing here. If you actually download it from the website accomplish. ai, doesn't work. But if you go to GitHub and then download it back there, that seems to work. So, let's try this out now. So, I think we need to plug in an API key. You can choose between Google and Anthropic. You can switch between these different APIs here. Bear in mind that Grock is coming soon. Grock has a lot of free APIs and Google has some free APIs as well as far as I remember, but I'm just going to grab an API key from AI Studio and then we could plug that in. So, let's go over here and get an API key. Create one. Obviously, I'm not going to show that on a live stream, so one sec. So, now we have open work ready to go. We've plugged in an API key. As you can see, you can add multiple API keys as well if you want. And then we can select the AI we want to use. Obviously, we've only used the Google version. If you wanted to get a Claude Opus or Claude API key, we can go to console. anthropic. com. And what we'll do today as well is just test out both and see which one performs best, which one performs the fastest, etc. I do the fact that you can just download this as a DMG. So you don't need to set up the GitHub or run it in terminal or anything, which is great. So let's get an API key now. All types everything. Is that a paid API and it is a paid API actually from Google. So just bear that in mind. And then Anthropic 2 is going to be using a paid API here, but I think they've got Gr coming soon, which does have free APIs, too. So that'll be good in the future. And then we've plugged in Anthropic and also Google here too. B, will you show some use cases of co-work versus open work? And yeah, we'll come on to that later. So we've got the API keys set up now. We should be able to start using this for whatever we want right now. So let's see if we can do the same tasks as clawed co-work. So I'm going to run both side by side when have Claude co-work on this side and open work on the other side. All right. And we'll see which one performs the best. Bear in mind open work is free. Claude coowork is paid and also as far as I'm aware actually they're both only for Mac. So that's a good point. So that's something to bear in mind here. But let's try this out. So we'll just go with something basic like organized by downloads folder. All right. So going to type that into claude co-work like you see over here. Then we're going to have to allow it. I actually found the exact folder we wanted to go to which is pretty useful. So it figured out okay we need to go straight to downloads cuz I didn't set the folder inside the chat. Whereas normally inside for example claude co-work you have to add the folder that you want to work from. Right. All right. So, when you go to new task, you have to select the folder that you want to work with. In the meantime, what I'll do is I'll organize the desktop as well. So, I'm going to say to claude co-work organize my desktop folder so it's easier to manage. And let's just make sure in the API settings we're using Claude Opus, which we are. Okay, beautiful. So, which one is going to run the fastest? Just a note here where it says bring your own model and API key, any provider and model supported by Open Work. The only two supported are Google and Claude is supposed to be four times faster than Claude for Chrome. Let's see right here. So we actually started claude co-work a lot later than we started open work. Al so this is interesting as well. So with Chrome and Claude Co-work it logs into your existing browser right? So it would log into this tab right here to start using this. But with open work only it uses a different browser instance which means you log in only to the services you need which just avoids like risk of data loss but also that might slow you down because the problem is you're already logged in whereas if you have to log in again and do all the 2FA on everything that's going to be super annoying but it is free and open source. So let's see what we got here. Claude has already finished a task. Open work seems to have struggled completely. It doesn't seem to be I can't even see any progress right there. So it seems to be struggling with that. We'll try a new task in the background whilst we're waiting for that to be done. So, we're going to try something else now. this one out, which is a game that we actually built out with Claude. So, I'm going to type this task in say build out an AI automation themed Tetris game with a CTA boardroom. Link is here. We'll do the same inside the chat here. And we'll compare these side by side. I suddenly put my API key on the live stream. Okay, great. I'll delete that in a sec after this video. still it seems to be working but it seems like really slow like crazy slow cuz it's still working through the download section and that's been running for almost 5 minutes whereas Claude already finished that quite a while ago and you can see this is being operated by so it's opened up a new Chrome instance as you can see and that's being operated by open work it looks pretty nice I like the fact that it's just opened that up as well that's pretty good it looks more interesting than the original and you can see this is the ai agent actually testing out right so you can See here, Chrome is being controlled by automated test software. We've got Open Code just testing this out and making sure it actually works, right? So, you can actually see what it's doing in the

background. If you have a look on the right hand side, you see here it logs that the game is working beautifully. Let me scroll down the full layout including the CTA section and we got the CTA at the bottom which drives people to the AI profit boarding. That's looking really good. If we have a look at Claude, this is Claude co-work. And it seems to be working a lot slower. Let's actually play this game out. You can see here it's still trying to build it out. So it is way slower than open code for actually building that game out. Let's just open this up and see if it works. All right. So this is the version from open work as you can see. And this is the version from Claude Code, right? From Claude Co-work. Honestly, if I had to choose one, this is a tough one, but I'm still going to say that Claude Co-work did a better job. It was a lot slower for Claude Co-work, but I think the outputs look nicer. The only thing that I do that's better here is it's got these flashing colors and then also it's got a nice little background here. But if you look at like the actual pieces, there's more detail on the Tetris pieces. The UI is a lot nicer as you can see. And then also the CTA is in a more relevant place. So the CTA to the air for boarding is right here, whereas inside here you have to scroll all the way to the bottom, which doesn't quite make sense. I'll be interested to know which one you like and prefer uh if you're watching right now. But I'm still going to say Open Work didn't win there. I would say that Claude Co-work still won that. So let's do one more. We're going to say, okay, create a budget tracking sheet with formulas. And we'll do that inside both of them at the same time. So we're going to do that inside the desktop on claude co-work and then on open work we'll do the same. I will say one thing I like is the right here. It makes it super easy. So you can just go inside and say okay here's what I want. Whereas if you have a look here it's a little bit it's not quite as nice for the UI. So let's try this out. I also like the fact that inside claw coork it actually it gives you the options. So you can see here and it will talk you through ask you questions before you get started. was it seems like with open work it really just seems to just go ahead automatically without asking you any questions. So you get less customization from what I can see. However, one of the biggest things I would say here is to actually use claude co-work with open work you can use this however you want. Right? So you can see here that co-work is only available for claude max subscribers which is their most expensive package. Right? Whereas for example if you want to use open work all you need is the API key. You don't need to be on the most expensive subscription with claw to actually use this. So that's a massive win. If you're not on max, but you want to test this out. You can easily do that by just using open work instead. I would also say even though it failed on this task as you can see right here, it still did a similar result for the Tetris game and it can still do similar things. So it may not be as good as Claude Code and Co-work, but it's not far off, right? But you can see the speed of it. So, for example, if we have a look side by side, you can see that the budget tracking spreadsheet is nowhere near done for open work, but Claude co-workers already completed it. And if we open that up in numbers, that's ready to go. As you can see, that's already done and dusted. So, overall, from what I can see, I mean, it's still struggling on this task as well. Really, the only one that's done properly is the Tetris game. So, I think if you're not on the max plan, give open work a try. It's a decent alternative to Claude Co-work, but it's nowhere near the same level. It's definitely not faster. As you can see, with the same tasks, Claude Co is literally 10 times faster. It's already completed the task or it's already completed two tasks that Open Work is still struggling with. As you can see, these two are both loading the Tetris game and the coding out was pretty good for Open Code. Sorry, for Open Work, but Claude Co-work I still think is winning in pretty much every single way. So, it's a cool idea. I also like the fact that you can just install it as a program and then plug in your API key. That's nice and easy. You don't have to use terminal even though it's an open source project. If you want to get all the video links from today, you can get that inside the AI success lab which connects you with a community of 46,000 people. As you can see, if you go inside the classroom here, then you go to January part two, you can see all the details on Open Work, how it works, how to install it, all the video links, a 30-day plan for using it, and also you've got over 100 prompts on exactly how to use this and what sort of stuff you could do, right?
