BNY Legal uses OpenAI

If I'm tackling a novel question about the law, I use deep research to kind of do a first pass. As a highly regulated company that's in a trusted position within the financial markets, we have a very mature and robust resiliency and risk management framework. Building the governance guardrails and having responsible AI principles by design is super important. We decided as a cross functional group to get together to come up with a way where there's a baseline safeguard. Some might see AI governance as a barrier, but in our experience, we have seen it as an enabler. The contract of view assistant helps our attorneys improve the speed, quality, consistency of their reviews. It's helped reduce the time by 75% on average. I do think that what AI has which is a big opportunity is it can actually be the strategic partner.
