Segment 1 (00:00 - 05:00)

So before you think about selling your first or maybe next digital product, this is a video that you need to watch from start to finish. And the reason why I say that is because I've been building and launching digital products, I would say for the past seven, maybe 8 years. And these are the things that I genuinely wish I knew before I got started because over the years I've made a lot of mistakes and I've wasted a lot of time doing unnecessary things. And I believe I went through everything I went through so that I could make this exact video. So, if you stick with it, I'm confident that you're going to learn something that's going to make your digital product journey a lot more smoother. And before I get into any of the practical steps that you're going to need to take before you sell your next digital product, I just want to go through a couple different pros, maybe a few different cons because there's so many people out there that just want to jump head first into selling their first digital product. And there's also some people out there that want to avoid it because they're scared of a couple things. But if you're aware of the different advantages and disadvantages, you're going to be able to take the necessary steps that you need to take. So right here on the screen, as you can see, I've got three different pros and three different cons. And I'm going to break down each one so that all of us are on the same page as I move forward in this video. So let's start off with one of the first pros, which is the fact that with digital products, there's no inventory and there's no shipping. One of the things that I love about digital products is that you don't need to ship anything overseas. is domestically. Once you build your digital product, you're going to be able to sell it over and over again. And that's going to come with so many different advantages. For example, you don't need to deal with a lot of logistic issues. items breaking along the way. You don't have to deal with a manufacturer, a supplier. Once you know exactly how to build digital products in the most effective way possible, you're essentially going to be your own manufacturer, and you're going to be able to create digital products over and over again. And because it's going to come with instant shipping, automatic shipping, you're also going to be able to take away that admin side of things as well. But moving on to one of the next pros, which is that it's near enough 100% profit margins. And of course, this is all dependent on how you're going to sell your digital product. There's a couple different ways, and I'm going to speak about them as we move forward. But the very nature of a digital product is that there's no manufacturing fees, there's no import fees, there's nothing like that. everything is basically going to be profit as long as you sell it in the right way. But moving on to one of the next pros, which is that you're going to be able to sell your digital product even when you're asleep. So, this is one of the first things that I noticed about one of my first ever digital product stores is that one of the benefits of it is that it's going to run around the clock without you having to physically do anything. Once you've built your store, you've listed your digital products available for people to buy. You're going to be able to set it up in a way that is going to be automated. Even when it comes to the traffic side of things, you're also going to be able to automate that as well, which is going to put you in a position where you have multiple different digital product stores running around the clock. And even if it's 1:00 a. m., 3:00 a. m., or 6:00 a. m., sales are always going to be automated. So, those are a few different pros. Of course, there's many others, but I just wanted to summarize it. But let's move on to one of the first cons, which is that it's basically easy for your competition to either copy or pirate your digital products. There's ways that you can overcome this, but there's no real way around it. You're going to have to deal with it. It's just going to be a cost of doing business. It could definitely be frustrating. It's definitely annoying, but as long as you've built a solid traffic funnel, this shouldn't be too much of a concern. One of the next cons is that you can deal with refund abuse. With this one, it's more of a psychological thing when we compare physical to digital products. When someone buys a physical product, they wait for it to arrive. They've now got it. They want to refund it. In their mind, they know that they can ship it back and get their money. But, of course, with that, they're going to have to go to the post office. package it up. They're going to have to wait. However, when it comes to digital products, a lot of people believe that once they buy it, if they're not happy with it, they're going to be able to get a refund automatically. But that's why it's very important to have systems in place so that people don't abuse this fact. For example, having clear terms and conditions, clear refund policies, making sure that people are aware of exactly what they're getting themselves into before they get into it. Ultimately, it's about making sure that your customers are happy before they've even placed their order. Because if you're able to do this, then there's a less likelihood of them wanting to return it. But moving on to one of the final cons, which is that you may deal with competition and it's a lot easier for them to undercut you in price. So, as I mentioned with one of the pros, digital products have near enough 100% profit margins. And with this means that your competition can price their item as low as possible. This is something that you can see on Etsy. If you go onto it, type in any type of digital product, you're going to see a bunch of competition competing with each other with digital products priced at $1, $2, $3 because a lot of them are all in the same place. But I don't really subscribe to the mindset that just because you're selling a digitalbased product, you need to sell it at the lowest price possible because of course it all depends on how you position yourself. For example, if

Segment 2 (05:00 - 10:00)

you're selling an info related digital product, you're going to need to brand yourself as an expert within that particular field. Because if you do that and you build a good brand, then people are going to trust you and they're going to pay whatever you're charging. If you've gone down the route of a faceless brand, as long as you've branded yourself as a specialist, you've built up credibility, testimonials, reviews, whatever it is, then you're going to be able to charge slightly higher. So, you don't really need to f too much about being undercut on price. is something that you need to consider, but it's all about how you're going to build your digital product business. Which actually now leads me on to one of the second things that you need to do before you think about getting into digital product selling, which is that you need to know the different types of products that are out there. And the reason why this is important is because maybe you've heard of one type of digital product, but you haven't heard of the rest, or maybe you've heard of a couple. The reason why it's good to educate yourself on all of them is because you're going to be able to pick which one is best for you in terms of your skill set, in terms of what excites you, your passion, your knowledge, and then from there, you're going to be able to spend less time building up a digital product that you don't really care about. For example, most people think of ebooks when they think of a digital product, and that's definitely one of them, and it's one of the decent ones if you're looking to go down the info route. But there's also audio books, digital planners, video info products, courses, memberships, Excel spreadsheets, Google Sheets, templates, apps, softwares. I would say that these are some of the main ones. Now, I'm not going to be able to go through every single type in today's video. It's all about going away, doing your research, finding someone that is selling a digital product that you can see yourself selling, and then from there, study exactly what they've done and how they've been able to do it. To give you an example of what I'm talking about, if I jump onto this app over here called Digital Maker AI, what I'm going to do is click on chat and I'm just going to come over here to the plus 5. 0 chat model and I'm just going to ask it this question. Let's assume that I'm someone that wanted to focus on digital planners. I'm going to be able to say, give me 10 sellers that are focused on selling custom digital planners and then click on send. And what digital maker AI should do is come back with all of these different sellers that are focused on the product that you've entered. So from here, what you can now do is copy and paste any one of the URLs. So let me go with this one over here. Okay. So this is a store that is focused on selling digital planners. I've personally never seen it before, but from here I can now see how they've structured it, what they're doing, you know, how they're pricing it as well. As we can see with this one, they've got a monthly subscription as well as a fixed pricing plan. This is something that I wasn't necessarily thinking about. They've also got this AI chat feature when it comes to helping customers. Maybe this is something that you wasn't thinking about, but that's why it's good for you to kind of study your competition. What you can also do is just copy the URL for any product on your competition page. Then go back over to DigitalMaker AI and then click into product research. Paste the URL in there just like that. and then click on analyze. And what it's going to do is come back with a lot of data when it comes to if it's worth replicating a digital product or not. So in this case, it's letting me know that this is a three out of five when it comes to the replication potential. It's given me all of these different percentages as well as a deep dive analysis when it comes to different ways that I'm going to be able to make things look a lot different, stand out amongst my competition and also the potential when it comes to the profit analysis and ways that I'm going to be able to price it for me to be able to make a decent amount of income. But yeah, the main point of what I'm trying to say right now is that you want to do your research into all of the different digital products that out there. Do pros and cons for all of them. figure out which one that you're passionate about, which one you have knowledge in, and which one you can scale. Then move forward, find a seller that's selling it, and try and find ways that you can replicate the success that they've already been able to achieve. But moving on to one of the next things that you must know before you start selling digital products, which is the different traffic methods that are out there. So, this is another common question that I get all the time from you guys, which is Sam. When it comes to selling a digital product, what would you say is the best form of traffic? And it's really hard for me to answer that question directly because it all depends on which digital product you're going to sell. Ultimately, traffic methods come down to two different types, organic and paid. But underneath that, there's different methods that you can take. For example, you can go down the demonstrational route when it comes to demonstrating the digital product and how it works. There's also the education route as well. So, if you're looking to maybe sell some sort of educationbased digital product like an ebook, audio book, video info product, course, membership, whatever it is, I would say that you can maybe go down the route of educating people and then from there you can now promote whatever your info product is. Or you can go down the route of demonstrating as well as educating at the exact same time. Let me show you someone that's doing this right now. So, if I just jump onto YouTube, I'm just going to type in the keyword for the

Segment 3 (10:00 - 15:00)

same digital product that we was looking at, which is digital planner, and then click on search. As we can instantly see by looking at YouTube shorts, there's so many people that are creating content when it comes to different digital planners, and they're getting millions of views. If we just scroll down over here, there's people like this that's making content about their digital planner, and they're also able to get decent views as well. And the good thing about digital products, generally speaking, is that you're able to produce content without necessarily having to show your face. So, if I just scroll down over here, I'm going to pick a random one. Let's go with this person over here. Let me just click into this video. So, as we can see, this is a video that was uploaded 3 months ago. It's got over 20k views. And all she's doing is showing the digital planner how it works. She's educating her audience on all of the different features, the functionalities of it. So people can watch this and get an insight into how they're going to be able to use this particular product. And of course, right there, as you guys can see in the description, she's got a direct link to her website so that when people click directly into it, it's going to take them to the main page where she has all of these different digital planners available. And of course, from there, they can click into whichever one they want, add it to their cart, and check out straight away. And it goes without saying that YouTube is just one of the many organic channels that you can use. There's Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, Pinterest, you know, the list goes on and on. But if you're someone that maybe wanted to go straight into paid ads because you didn't want to wait to get your first organic sale, then what you can do is use something like meta ads. Meta ads work really well with digital products because you're able to demonstrate how the product works in your video creative. So, let me show you what I'm talking about. If I just go back over to Digital Maker AI, what I'm going to do now is just click into add library. And what this is going to do is that it's going to show you real life Facebook ads that people are running right now to their digital products. So I'm going to type in a random one this time. Let's go with notion template. I'm going to leave it on the UK in terms of ads that are being targeted here. And I'm going to click on search. Okay, perfect. There we go. So there's all of these different results for all of these different ads that have the keyword notion template in it. But what I'm going to do is focus on one of the ones at the top. So this is active. The person started running this ad almost two months ago now and they're still running it which means that they're probably seeing some success. So if I just click on play, you're going to be able to play the ad directly within Digital Maker. Let me make it full screen. So as you can see, it's a demonstration video ad where they're showing how this notion template works. There's text on screen also explaining what's going on. And this notion template is targeted towards people within construction, I guess, maybe design, architecture, whatever it is. But there you go. This is an example of a video ad that someone is running on Facebook right now. And of course, when the person sees this ad, they're going to be able to click into the CTA button, which is order now in this case. And then from there, it's going to take them directly to the product page where once again, they can add it directly to their cart and check out straight away. So yeah, those are some of the foundational things that you need to know when it comes to generating traffic to a digital product. You can either use organic ads that you don't necessarily need to pay for. Of course, you're going to have to pay for it in terms of your time, but you can also use paid ads when it comes to being able to demonstrate exactly how the product works and targeting the exact person that you want to target. But this now brings me on to one of the final things that you must do before you get into building your first digital product is super important and it's one of the things that I wish I had, which is that you need to make sure that you've got a custom step-by-step blueprint in place. The reason why I say this is because a lot of people want to take their first step, which is not a bad thing to do. But if you're able to take your first, second, and third step, knowing exactly what you need to do, having everything in place, what website you need to go on to, what text you need to use, what images everything is going to work out a lot more better. And the way that you can do this is by going onto Digital Maker AI and using it when it comes to creating your custom plan. And the beauty of this is that it's not just going to be any plan. It's going to be a tailor-made plan specifically for you that you can get for completely free. I'm going to leave digital maker AI in my description down below so you can check it out. But the way that this works is that you're going to go over to the prompt builder section and you need to select your ideal AI tool. So if you prefer using chat GPT, you can select this one. Claude Gemini Notebook LM, you know, any of these different AI tools. But in this case, I'm going to be using Google Gemini. So I'm going to select it just like that. and it's going to take you through a series of different questions. And I'm well aware that there's going to be many of you that would have already seen these different questions. But because AI is always changing, digital products are always changing, I'm always updating it. So I'd recommend that you stick around, but I'm going to go through it fairly quick just so that I can show you exactly what the custom

Segment 4 (15:00 - 18:00)

blueprint is going to look like. So first question is, what type of digital product do you want to make? As an example, let's say if I was someone that wanted to build an AI powered info product, I would select it like that. Question two is, what type of info product do you want to make? I'm going to go with a hybrid option, you know, showing my face in some parts, maybe faceless in others, and then click on next. What is your skill level when creating digital products? I'm going to go with advanced because I've been doing this for many years. Next, what niche do you have knowledge or experience in? As I've already mentioned, you need to pick a niche that you actually have knowledge in. Otherwise, you're going to end up wasting your time when it comes to not really being able to help your customers. So, what I'm going to do is go with Instagram/social media growth. I would say that I'm pretty good at it. Next, will your info product require screen recording demonstrations? We're going to go with yes. And finally, do I have an idea of what my topic will be about? I'm going to go with this one. Go from zero to 1,000 followers on Instagram. And then from here, I just need to click on generate prompt. Now that I've got this prompt, I'm going to be able to save it as a text document. Or what I can do is copy the entire thing. And again, because I've chosen Gemini as my chosen AI model, I just need to head over to it, paste everything in there, just like that. Click on tools, then click on canvas, and then click on submit. And what Gemini is going to do is that it's going to come back with the custom blueprint straight away. So, we're just going to share this so we can get a better look. Okay. So, the reason why this is powerful is because on the dashboard, it's going to give you a custom projection based on the digital product that you want to build based on all of the information that you entered. So, if I want to, let's say, sell this for 97 and I'm hoping to get around 200 daily visitors, this is the estimate of what I can expect. It's going to come back with some ideal titles for me to choose from. Because Gemini is directly connected to Google, it's going to also have this search data as well. So, instantly, I can see that this is probably a better title for me to go with. Instagram growth secrets for beginners. There's going to be a step-by-step checklist that I'm going to be able to go through and take everything off, as well as all of the different prompts that I need when it comes to actually building out this specific digital product. So, yeah, guys, I'm sure that you can see how beneficial having something like this is because it's going to give you everything. It's going to give you the competition. structure of building out your digital product, just everything that's going to go into it. So, once again, if you wanted to get your hands on that prompt builder, I'm going to leave it linked down below. And if you've enjoyed this video, you've learned anything, you got any sort of value out of it, don't forget to press the like button. I really appreciate that. And don't forget to subscribe as well. I've got many more videos just like this coming out over the next few days when it comes to helping you on your digital product journey. And you're not going to want to miss them if you want to watch another YouTube video that I made not too long ago. Well, in this video, I'm going to be able to spend a little bit more time walking you through the fine details of what you need to know, do when it comes to building a digital product step by step. You're going to be able to watch that by clicking the link right there. Check that out straight after this. That video's already helped out countless people. And I'm sure if you're able to watch it from the very start all the way to the very end, it's going to be able to help you out as well. But as always guys, I'm going to catch you on that next video. Make sure you stay safe out there. Peace.
