Segment 1 (00:00 - 05:00)
Hey guys, welcome to another vlog. We're in the midst of a shop date. Shop update. So, I last spoke to you on Tuesday, I believe. Uh, I had a really good packing day Wednesday and Thursday. Those are both big days where I had like a hundred orders done a day or close to for both days. Just going hard all day. Uh, and then Friday is when I hit a wall. I was so exhausted and I've been working sick throughout this past week. And, um, Friday was my worst day for coughing as well. And so I was so tuckered out Friday. Did not get done as much as I wanted to, but um still, you know, got some work done. Packed orders up until 400 p. m. when the mail pickup happened. Um and then I spent my Saturday morning doing some sodoku and then I slept all afternoon. So that was a nice recovery day. And it's now Sunday. We're both working today. Christian doing more embroidery and heat pressing. And I am going to be packing orders. I just handled an influx of emails I got over the last couple days and did some accounting stuff. And next, I want to order some DTF transfers. So, occasionally Christian will make the wrong apparel item, which is totally understandable because there's so many different shirt types. Like for the faded black, for example, the faded black color, there's the regular t-shirt, the long sleeve t-shirt, and the boxy tea. And so sometimes he picks the wrong item. And um when that happens, he updates the shirt inventory in our material manager so that it you know so we don't oversell that shirt cuz now we have lost one. Um but he was not updating the DTF transfer inventory and we oversold one of the DTF transfers. So he needs to make another shirt or two with those and we have no transfers. So I need to order some now. And the place I get them from usually is pretty quick at making them. So hopefully I have them within the next few days so we can get those orders out. And I'm also just going to order more for a restock cuz some of the transfers are getting low stock. So I might as well just see what I need and order the whole restock now. And I do need to restock some t-shirts and sweatshirts. But I will probably save that for another day. Although I would like to at least get the t-shirts ordered quite soon. But in terms of today, I've spent enough time doing other stuff. I just need to get to the packing. So, we have a decent amount of the froggy transfers left, but for the gallery cats and dogs, we're very low on everything. And then a couple of the sizes are completely out. Size two for both cat and dog. So, I'll order a bit of everything, but especially that size two, I'll order some extra of. Okay, order is placed. Hopefully, I get it quickly. I did select Purator Express as my shipping, which is one to two business days after they've printed it. But this place is fast. Like I expect them to print it tomorrow. That's like the first business day after today. Tuesday at the latest. So hopefully I have it by Wednesday. That'd be nice. And as for the freebie stickers that I ran out of, I did order more. I think I talked about that in the last vlog. I'm not sure. I ordered more, but they're not going to be here anytime soon. Like once I approve the proofs, it said that my order would take 5 to seven business days. So, I don't think we're going to get it in time for the shop update. But, at least I'll have more of the paint squeeze sticker to last me until I get in the next freebie sticker. And then whatever's left over will just be listed for sale on the website. Uh, so yeah, I'm using the stationary brown as the freebie now. Uh, but even that there's not enough left of it to get through all my current orders cuz as of right now, I have 130 open orders still. Uh, so I'll have to switch to something else after. I'm thinking like Green Witch or Glitter Fairy cuz those two are not very popular. So I still have a lot of them left. So that's the plan. Well, step one for order packing is going to involve a little bit of
Segment 2 (05:00 - 10:00)
restocking cuz my pink Luna bin out. And then the coloring books, which I place on this shelf, they're mostly out other than a few bottom ones. Although, I've been leaving those there just so that the shelf is always bottom heavy. I mean, I could have pulled from there. I don't want to bend over that far anyway. So, I'm going to refill these three shelves. Uh, I think dainty flowers need some more. I might run out of these buttons at some point. This is the last of what I have pre-made, but I'll just make more as needed. And I could top up some of my stickers. Like I have one video game sticker sheet here. That's pretty low. And then that. So I'll top those up. I do have some of the paint squeeze stickers still here because some people purchased some to add to their order. So I made sure to set those aside for them. Uh, and just like I was using these up to a certain order number and I had to like skip those orders because Christian hadn't made the apparel yet. So, I got both here. So, when it's one of the earlier order numbers, I throw in this one and then if it's after my cutoff, I'm throwing in this one. Oh, how convenient. The ones I need are right on top. That's all I have for coloring books down here. I'm going to see if there are more signed ones upstairs. Otherwise, that's it. Cuz we signed about 400 books, but we've sold probably over 400 now. Last I checked it was nearly 400. So, we're going to have to sign more before we can finish all the orders. Christian has confirmed this is the last of the signed books. So, we'll see if that's enough to get me through today's packing, but I'll have to sign more either tonight or tomorrow morning, whenever it works out. Okay, let's pack some orders together for Ruth. We have the fall florals brown zip. Silver florals black zip and froggy boxy tea on faded black. Video game sticker sheet. Forest cuddles gazebo cats strawberry stationery lunos and the coloring book. Hey, it's going up my sleeve. Anna is getting the gallery dogs long sleeve tea, the silver florals zip. I know you can't really see much with this. Christian decided today though that he's going to start folding them a different way like this. So, we can actually see the design on the front. And then the coloring book. Woohoo. This might be a little squishy in this box. for Latte's order. We have the dot grid version of the sketchbook, the coloring book, a couple t-shirts. This is the old pink that I'm discontinuing. And then doggies on blue, little ducky planner pad, and a couple bookmarks. Now, let's discuss a little update on our favorite topic around here, tariffs. And before the Trump defenders come at me again, yes, I know the US can impose tariffs on other countries cuz other countries countries. Like, whatever. It's just the way that it's all being done that has been so frustrating cuz number one, declaring fake emergencies in order to get around having Congress vote on them. And also it violates the existing trade agreement we have between Canada, USA, and Mexico cuz now the postal shipments don't qualify for Koozma whereas before they did. So like the stuff that's completely made in Canada should be
Segment 3 (10:00 - 15:00)
tariffree but right now it's not. Like if you're going to enact tariffs, go through the proper channels to do so, okay? And stop flip-flopping every other day. And there also multiple types of tariffs, okay? Not all tariffs are the same. And the Supreme Court recently struck down his EA tariffs, which were the ones where he declared a false emergency to enact them. And those are the ones that directly affected my shop. And so the tariff amount depended on the country of origin of the product. So um like my made in Canada stuff had a 35% tariff. The made in China stuff had a 30% tariff, but then that number has also changed over time. Um, my t-shirts are made in Honduras, which is a 10% tariff. So, yeah, it varies depending on country of origin, and those were struck down. So, those tariffs are gone. But on the same day those were struck down, Trump announced some new tariffs because he was mad that those other ones got removed. So, he announced a 10% global tariff. So, 10% across the board, every country, it's a set 10%. And that would affect my store. Um, and thank goodness I didn't go and update my shop right away because the very next day he's like, "Actually, it's 15%. " This is why it's so annoying. Plus, when he said that actually it's 15%, it was on Truth Social, not like an official press conference or anything. So, you never know like if it's in effect or like what all the details surrounding it are. It's just so confusing and so annoying to deal with. Now, apparently 15% is the maximum under the current method he's using to enact these tariffs. 15 is the max. So, it shouldn't go any higher. And some of my stuff will now still have a lower tariff on it for the US. Like I said, the Canada tariff was 35%. So, if it's now down to 15, that's a huge improvement. Stuff like the t-shirts though, it was only 10. Now, it's 15. So, that the price of those will go up. Wait now, wait a minute, though. So, is this still 15% for postal? I'm going to have to check Zonos on the 24th when this officially kicks in. Like, is it going to be 15% postal and commercial? And I forgot to mention these new tariffs are only valid for 150 days unless Congress approves an extension. So, I'm kind of hoping they're just gone after 150 days. And inserting a clip from the following day, I got another update email from Zonos. As mentioned in our previous communications, President Trump announced via Truth Social his intent to raise the global tariff rate from 10% to 15%. As of now, the signed rate remains 10%. The 15% increase has been announced, but not yet published in an official channel. If an executive order is signed today, that rate takes effect tonight. Could be 15% instead of 10, depending on the timing of that order. This is the we got to deal with. The tariff show continues. I took a break for lunch, came back down here and got through like an order or two before looking into things. We have this big light bulb in our furnace room and it burnt out. So, I was trying to figure out like where to get a replacement. And then also, we had a t-shirt inventory issue. We sold a shirt variant we don't actually have. So, for the 5XL long sleeve t-shirts, the color Carolina blue is only available in 4XL. And I did write that in the listing like it's only available in 4XL just so people don't like wait for a restock that's never going to come. Um, but I had set up the listing incorrectly, so it was showing up as something that's available. And someone did check out with it. So, I had to email them being like, "We don't have it. We'll see if they want like a different color or if they just want the item refunded. " Um, and I figured out why it was set up like that, cuz like the shirt itself is not in the material manager software at all. But when I was assigning DTF transfers to the listings, I had selected that variant as getting a DTF transfer and that made it in stock. I shouldn't have assigned the DTF transfer to it. So, that was my bad. And now I can get back to packing. Feel like I've gotten no packing done today. And this was the light bulb I was talking about. So Christian's parents gave us this one. So that's why I wasn't sure where to get it. And it's apparently called a garage light, but I can't find this specific brand anywhere. It seems like it used to be available at Costco. Uh so we're trying some other random brand from Amazon, but uh yeah, for now just a regular sad light bulb in the furnace room, which does not brighten the space much at all. Whoop! Oh my gosh, look how cute. I love being able to see the sleeve. We had another issue that pulled me away from packing orders. We ran out of faded black hoodies in a certain size and then possibly also a second size. So, I ordered both. Like, we're short. Our
Segment 4 (15:00 - 20:00)
inventory was wrong. So, those will luckily get here really fast. We'll have those by Tuesday. So, that's no problem. And then an update on that blue long sleeve t-shirt I couldn't do. Um they originally wanted charcoal but it was sold out. But we still have our spare charcoal blank and so I offered it to them. So they're getting what they originally wanted which is best case scenario. I can't believe it cuz I felt so bad being like we don't actually have that. But that wasn't their first choice anyway. So yay. Problem solved. And I'm just glad we still had the spare cuz we've burned through the spares for some of our t-shirts this shop update, but not that one. Uh-oh, there's a second blue t-shirt. We thought there was just one. I got to contact another person. We thought only one person ordered that shirt because Christian thought he printed off the pick list for all the remaining orders, but it only shows a 100 orders at a time. You have to click next page. So, that one was hiding there. Also, Christian comes out with the charcoal shirt. He's like, "Okay, here's the replacement shirt I made. " And I was like, "This is dogs. I need it to be froggy palettes. " He's like, "What? No, my paper says it's dogs. " And that's how we realized that we needed one more. But that's a problem because we had that one spare, and we used it to make the wrong shirt. Now, luckily, there was still one that we hadn't used yet for someone's order, and that order has a hold on it. So, we stole their blank shirt to do the proper Froggy palette and we can order more of those and we'll have them quite quickly. So, whenever that person's hold is done, we can make their shirt. And now I'm secretly hoping that the person who got the dog shirt chooses charcoal as their replacement color because we already made it. I just went upstairs to warm up some leftovers for supper and a package was sitting up there with this book. Has anyone else been seeing these on Tik Tok? These kind of puzzles. And apparently in this book, the answer is on the page immediately behind it, which is kind of annoying because I'm have to try to not see through the paper and read the answer on the back. Like, it lays out step by step how to solve it. So, I got to make sure I just don't look at that. I thought all the answers would be at the back of the bag. So, I've probably seen somewhere between 15 and 20 of these already through videos, but there are 160 in here. So enough of it should be new to me. And there's even a second book. But I thought, okay, just buy one, make sure I like it before I buy a second one. And what'll be nice is I actually get the tutorials for how the different puzzle types work. Like some are anagrams, some are selectors, hiddens, reversals. I don't even know what selector means. Okay. These are the different puzzle types. Okay. Um, so I could actually read through and get the tutorial. So I took a look at this very first one. It's anagram. And I got it. Okay. I mean, anagram is kind of easy cuz you're just rearranging letters. And what's weird is there's usually a word that tells you it's an anagram. Like that's the indicator is playing. And then there's a word that's like the answer, like a synonym to the answer. Um, so that would be little. Um, I'm explaining this horribly, but basically I'm taking the letters in the middle, tune, I'm, and I'm rearranging them cuz it's an anagram to make a word that means little. And without even writing anything down, I can tell the answer would be minute. Yeah, the anagram indicator indicators playing. Then tune I'm is the anagram fodder with six letters. Same number of letters as our answer. Little is our definition. Our answer will be another word for little. And then they recommend writing it out in a wheel for anagrams. Although I didn't have to for this one. Yeah. Anyway, they're like weirdly worded puzzles like meeting for romance module of poetry studies. Oh my god. But see, I have to do them in order because I don't want to look at the back sheet. Like I hate that they put the answers right on the back, but also I'm trying not to read through this blank part. I don't want to see the solution below. Okay. Okay, let's do this one cuz I've seen this one before. It was one I actually got myself, but it's one I saw on a Tik Tok. So without any directions, Ken is sent equipment. And so for direction, it would be like east, west, north, south. So if you cut out all the E, N's, S, E, N, there's no W for west. But we take out all of those, you're left with K I T. So the answer is kit, which is another word for equipment.
Segment 5 (20:00 - 25:00)
Yay. I'm so excited I have this. All right, it's 7:00 p. m. I'm out of here. And little baby's meowing at me to go play. I simply must. Okay, it's the next day. It's Monday. It's going to be another day of packing. But first, we need an update on this. I got this far into it last night. I need to slow down. Although, to be fair, the beginning of the book is a lot of tutorial. I mean, most of the book is tutorial. Yeah, I was talking about how there's different types of clues, right? And then there's the lucky dip section where it's like you don't know which one you're getting. So, it goes through four different clue types and then you get lucky dips with just those four and then it teaches you more and then at the end it could be like anything. So, um it's been really fun. But yeah, okay, the page that I thought was like an answer page at the back, it's not an answer page. It's just a series of hints and so you could read like one hint or however many hints you want. Um but the annoying part is something like this, it's a lucky dip, right? So, you don't know what kind of puzzle it is. You have to sus it out. But I can see the circle through the paper. Like the circle means it's an anagram. So that's kind of annoying. And you also have to be um like the first hint you have to be cautious of it because you can kind of see it through the paper as well cuz I was starting to cover the white area while doing the clues. But I can still see a little bit up here and have to try so hard to ignore the text through the paper. So that's my one gripe is the paper's too thin. And there are additional clues which I did use the first time I came across it but I've stopped using them where it's like telling you what two of the letters are based on previous ones you've solved kind of like it would be in a cross word cuz that's apparently the origins of this is from cryptic crosswords like you know how letter like words overlap so you always get a letter or two towards another word it's kind of like that but it's makes it a little too easy so I stopped using that after the first one but it's kind of a nice ist if you're stuck. Anyway, I'm talking too much about this. Oh, and I chose my um Oh, no. I took it out. I chose the stationery bookmark cuz that was the one that closely like most closely matched the color scheme of the book cover. So, I'm on page 105. But now that I'm into Lucky Dip, it is a little slower because I don't know what type of clue I'm looking for. And sometimes there's more than one. So they take a little longer now, which is good because I need to slow down. I'll be on to book two before I know it. And this is probably going to get me into cryptic crosswords because like I do enjoy regular crosswords, but I just hate that it's so trivia based. Like it's straight up knowledge based. I prefer puzzles when there's a way to deduce the answer using logic. And so that's what this is. So, it's introducing me to a whole new world of crosswords that I did not know existed. It's also why I really like the game show, The 1% Club, cuz anyone could figure out the answer. It's not based on memorizing trivia facts. It's just like pattern recognition and logic. Sorry if that's too much book talk. I don't have much to talk about during order packing time. I started a Friends rewatch during order packing. Just starting season two. Okay, I packed a few orders. I got to go back up. I didn't grab my stuff. My phone, my water. I didn't make a coffee. Although, right now, I'm just doing espresso shots because when I'm sick, coffee tastes really gross to me. Okay, for some reason, I thought I only had two left. There are four. Yay. There's another half to this. It's a black cup that matches. And it's slightly bigger than this, so it fits the double espresso better. But this one will fit. Just you watch. See, it fit. We have one drip. I've never had a drip before. It fits, but that's mostly foam. Okay. When the foam goes away, the liquid's actually up to about here. Okay, back to packing. I'm going have to make more of these shortly though. I'm running out. Breaking news, people. Breaking news. I was just looking into the international shipping rates cuz they've been bugged during this shop update and it's been overcharging people and I've been having to refund. They're seemingly fixed at least like as of 2 days ago. I've been checking orders. This one's from the 21st. Today's the 23rd. And it was charged correctly. I checked multiple international orders. They're being charged correctly. But then I looked
Segment 6 (25:00 - 30:00)
into some Canadian ones. Although I haven't had many Canadian orders where they had to pay for shipping in the past few days. But the Canadian orders are seemingly still being undercharged. Cuz that is something I realized about halfway through. I was like, "Oh, it's not charging enough for the Canadian orders. " It was as if someone else's Canada Post rates were linked to my account. and so it wasn't giving the proper discounts to stuff. But the international one was the more annoying one because I didn't want to lose out on sales by displaying too high of a shipping rate at checkout. So gladly that's seemingly resolved. I don't know. But it doesn't explain why the Canadian rate is still wrong cuz even I tried to create an order from scratch. like I replicated someone's order on my shop and went to check out using their address and it did bring through the low rate which is not right. So, one side of it's not fixed, but the bad side's fixed, which is all I really care about, honestly. I'm fine leaving the Canadian rates as is, and hopefully that fixes itself, too. But, um, hopefully the international stuff stays fixed. That's a huge relief. Um, but it's just annoying that happened during my shop update. Like the exact duration of my shop update is how long this problem persisted. Like I couldn't have done it at another time. Although maybe if it happened during a less busy time, I wouldn't have even known about the issue. So maybe it was meant to be. It was a pain in my booty though. Ooh, and back on the topic of tariffs, if the tariffs on the US are overall going down, then I should lower the free shipping threshold for Americans, but because the tariffs are still there, I can't really reduce it back down to 130 CAD. It's currently at 160 CAD cuz like for example, before you'd have to order um three sketchbooks to qualify for free shipping, but then with the price increase because of tariffs, you could order only two sketchbooks and qualify for free shipping. yet my profit margin wasn't any higher because I don't keep the tariff money and so that's why I had to raise the free shipping threshold on Americans. Um but right now it should be somewhere like in between. But is it weird having three shipping thresholds? Like should I keep the threshold where it is until these 150 days are up and then there will be hopefully no tariffs and we're back to how things were. I don't know. At least for this exact moment, I'll keep the threshold at 160, but I'm going to monitor the situation and see if it needs to be adjusted. Okay, it's lunch time. I'm making some chicken burger patties and some mac and cheese and some veggies. Oh yeah, giant chicken nugget and mac and cheese. There's so much room for activities up here. Not really. Uh, time to press some buttons. Wait, put down the grease barrier. Actually, I might have to hole punch some more first. I need 50 some buttons. I forgot the exact amount. So, I want to make about 60 um just so I'm not wasting time, you know, just make exactly what I need cuz I want to get as many orders out as possible before today's mail pickup. So, there are 30 laid out there. And I'll just do that twice. Okay, you can come for pets now. She's creeping closer and closer to my face. Oh, I did miss one that she was sitting on. So, I've done 59. Oh, my baby. She says, "Too much working, not enough cuddling and petting. " Oh, no. One more to make. Let's move this stuff away from your fur. Yeah. Okay. And maybe move this greasy thing. Okay. Don't knock over my zoa.
Segment 7 (30:00 - 35:00)
What was that? What was that noise? I don't know. It sounded like it came from behind me, like towards the packing station. Like something fell onto the white table or this table. Uh huh. H. Nothing looks suspicious. I got a little order note here. I wanted to say happy anniversary to Skye and Jonathan. It was our anniversary on the 20th. So, happy belated anniversary. I just went on a wild goose chase. I was like, "Oh, Christian, I need a froggy shirt, not a cat shirt. " shirt and he was like, "No, I definitely made one of each in that batch. " And I was like, "Oh no, that means I probably put the froggy in someone else's order. It just took me forever to find it. " Luckily, I can look up orders by skew. So, I look up that skew and I can see who ordered that shirt. And so, I wrote the name down on a sticky note and then went upstairs and I untied every single one of these bags one by one, going through looking for the order. Got through all the bags. couldn't find it. So then I went to see like what order names were next to it on the list to like look for other names that might be beside it. Um but I did eventually find it cuz according to Chef Station, I printed the label off last night, but we didn't know which bags were last night's bags versus today's. It was in this one. So if like I started here and if I had seen it properly the first time I could have stopped there but I kept going and then I was like where is it? But when I came to check the bags for the second time that's the second bag I opened. So that's good cuz I got to like pull every single box out and put them back in. But I found it and I did put the wrong shirt in that order. So now we can get the correct one in there. Cuz the barcodes on apparel only say the style of garment and the size. Cuz if we also had every single variant for the design and shirt color, we would have over 1,500 different barcodes and that's just way too much to like find the proper barcode to stick on here. That would just be a nightmare. So it's up to me when packing the orders to double check I'm grabbing the correct design and correct shirt color. So that was my bad. So, we'll take the froggy out of here and let's put in the proper one. Gallery cats. And I'm glad that's an order that didn't go out yesterday. And I'm also glad we figured this out before it went out today cuz we're only an hour out from the mail pickup. Okay, now I'm sweaty. I just went and retied all the bags. We're good to go. I was wondering how people were still adding this to their order despite me marking it as out of stock. And I'm looking at the listing and it says I have -4. And I'm like, that makes sense cuz I marked it down to zero. But here's the problem. Sell went out of stock on. How the heck did that get toggled on? I don't have anymore. I specifically set aside some for the people who did buy extras, but more orders have come through since then cuz it allowed people to check out with the sticker. So now I don't know what to do. Well, anyway, I'm at the computer now because I'm going to do some editing just so I can stay up to date on the vlog edit and just see how much footage I have cuz I started filming later this week. Um, so I can continue filming tomorrow if needed, which I think I do need. And it's now Tuesday. Last night I did not get much editing done. I was just zoning out. So, I went upstairs and I did more of my minute cryptics. I made it past the first section where you learn about the first four clue types and there was a there's a mini crosswords to do as well. And now it's moving on to learning four new ones. And I'm scared for substitutions because there's no indicator to tell you there's an there's a substitution in the puzzle. Like you just have to figure it out. I'm scared. Anyway, then I was slipping through the color catalog cuz I, you know, I need to work on that Froggy artwork ASAP for Froggy collection. And I have some ideas sketched out for Froggy, but I wanted to figure out a color palette. So, I printed out this whole book. It's like a digital thing as
Segment 8 (35:00 - 40:00)
well, but I printed out the entire thing. And what I kind of like is at the back there's a bunch of um smaller pictures of the swatches so I can flip through and just figure out what I want to do for Froggy cuz I have a general idea like I just really like the idea of the frogs being predominantly blue, yellow, and green or they could all be green and the environment is other colors. I just don't want the overall illustration to be green heavy. But I could not find a swatch in here that had yellow, blue, and pink. like that's kind of what I want is my primary colors, the main colors for this. And so this didn't really help me, but I guess it let me know what I don't want. Really, what I need to do is just sit down with some Copic markers and figure out which ones I want to use. Um, and then I busted out the sketchbook cuz like I said, I started froggy planning in here because we of course have froggy palettes, right? I was drawing some frogs. So, I went back to this spread and filled in a bunch of spaces cuz I had previously written down some ideas for the various froggies. So, I wanted to sketch some of those out, but also just figure out the composition. Like, I was doing a bunch of thumbnails trying to figure out exactly what angle we see the desk from. Cuz the idea is it is a art arts and crafts desk and then the froggies are interacting with items all over the desk. And I like the idea of there being a wall behind the desk with a shelf on it. Um, and at one point I thought maybe the shelf is a window sill cuz I was like the idea of there being a window in there that's casting light. Um, so with this one, the stuff sitting on the window sill ledge. Um, yeah, I sketch out quite a few different ones. And then this is the one I really liked here, like just for how much of the desk we see versus the wall. So here it's an actual shelf on the wall. I could go back to the window sill idea if I want or I could just put a little bit of a window there, but you wouldn't see much of it. I guess it depends what I want for lighting as well because if the window is back here then we have that directional light coming from that way. That could be cool. Uh so I don't know. I got to play around with the lighting a bit more. And like should there be drawers up against the wall? Should there be a pegboard? Um playing around with ideas like that. And like if there is a shelf there could be froggy hanging off the shelf. And this has been in my head since the beginning is like a bottle of glue and one frog is sitting on it and it's squirting glue onto another frog who's stuck. Although it would have to be raised up on some kind of surface. Maybe like a little pull drawer or something. I don't know. The glue could even be up on the shelf and then it's dripping further down. Froggy in a cup of water like a paint cup. Although I don't know if we'll see much of that from the angle I drew it at. We'll see. I could also just draw the froggy fully submerged in the water in a clear cup. This is the bow frog sitting on a spool of ribbon. And the ribbon is still attached, but also they fashioned themselves a little bow. Well, a big bow. Um, and then over here there's a frog with a marker defacing some art. And then there's also another frog tracking prints from a paint tube. Tracking prints across the paper and across the desk. So, that's where I've gotten with the planning. And I think I'm at the stage where I need to just start sketching the actual thing which I plan to do digitally just cuz it's what I do these days especially for a complicated highdetail art piece like this and I can more easily move around the frogs and different elements as needed. So that's what I did last night and so far this morning I got to some emails booked the mail pickup for today and I ordered the t-shirt restocks. So, went through all the different t-shirt types and ordered those. Still no more sweatshirts other than a few we ordered the other day that we're short on. Um, but the sweatshirt restock will come soon as well. Like, I wanted to wait till some t-shirts moved before ordering more sweatshirts, but now I'm restocking the t-shirts. I'm just going to have to accept that we're going to have so many blanks here. Um, cuz we do need more sweatshirts restocked. Like certain sizes and colors have been sold out. So, yeah. I did order more zips today, but I'll save the actual like crew neck and hoodie restock for another day. But when ordering all the t-shirts, I came across some unfortunate news. Um, the suppliers no longer offering the pocket TE's in sizes 4XL and 5XL. Cuz last time I went to order some, they were out of most of the colors and now they're completely removed. There's only like four different pocket tea colors to begin with. like there were more before. They're only offering four different colors for the Gilden and they only go up to 3XL cuz typically for the pocket TE's I use uh comfort colors, but that only goes up to 3XL for pocket T. So I supplement with Gilden, but now I can't even get the Gilden in 4XL 5XL. So I guess that just means no more pocket TE's in 4XL, 5XL. I still have quite a
Segment 9 (40:00 - 45:00)
few white t-shirts cuz I had to buy a case of those. Um so there's a lot of white left. I had white and charcoal. Charcoal is not even available anymore at all in any sizes. Um, so for 4XL, 5XL, we only have white pocket TE's until they run out and then they're gone. But expect a t-shirt restock soon. I'll send out an email when that happens. So, subscribe to my email newsletter if you're not already, if you want notifications for that kind of thing. I don't typically announce restocks like that, but because so many of the shirts are sold out, I think it's worth it to let people know when they're back. Oh, and I just remembered I need to sign some coloring books before I start order packing today. And Christian laid these out for me yesterday, so they're ready to sign. So, I'm going to do that now. And this looks to be about two boxes worth. And that should be enough to get through the remaining orders because we have like 61 or 62 open orders right now. And I still have a few coloring books on my shelf downstairs that are ready to go out. So yeah, let's get signing. And once we're caught up on the shop update, I do want to sign the remainder of these just so I know how many I actually have versus B-grades. Like we're not really coming across much for B-grades, but there was one box where an entire half of the books had bent corners. was like if they pllopped them into the box, it was like the corner caught and just wrecked that whole stack. So, that's the kind of stuff I want to look out for cuz we still have this stack and this stack to go through. I was just thinking this box could be collapsed cuz there was only one thing left in it. And then I thought, let's make a temporary kitty house. did it. But then I want to make a little window that's about at sitting height. So if one of them is sitting in here, they can kind of peek out. This would be easier if I made it a square window. Okay, got a blankie in there. My main concern is that it's too spacious. They might want a small, more cramped box. Kiki, come see the box. Come on. What's this? Look. See, that would be so fun. You could play in there. She's like, is this a trap? Enter. Oh, here we go. She tacked it. Okay, enough of that. I don't know where Midna is, so she'll have to have a go at it later. Wow. May my markers stay juicy. Over time, they get less opaque as I sign. So, I switched to another one. But there's really just one marker that's better than the rest. Uh-oh. It's already losing its ooze. Yeah, my markers are not doing so hot. I might try these. I don't know how opaque they are and they're very fine point. Otherwise, I might just have to switch to like a regular black Sharpie or something. Update, they're kind of dry, too. I think I do have some gold leaf pens, but those might be too thick. I also have Puscas.
Segment 10 (45:00 - 50:00)
I take like the fine point gold or like any pusca. Any color could work really. Not these wide ones though. That'll be too thick. These are a bit thin. My thicker pas too thick. These ones too thin. Wake up my pretty. I know you're old. Old gold and bold. Come on. Oh, I see something. Okay, I'm going to need a little more juice than that. Come on. H, this one gold leaf pen's actually working quite well if you use the flat edge. If I try to use the corner to get a skinnier line, that's when it's not flowing so well. So, I don't think I can use it to sign. I give up. I decided I do just want to order more gold Sharpies cuz I could just use a black Sharpie, but I kind of want them all to have gold. Like I've started with gold, I want to finish with gold. But maybe for future books we uh skip gold and just use a normal Sharpie. I've signed this many. I'll sleeve them up, tape them shut, and hopefully that's enough for today's orders. If not, I'll come back and sign some more. And hopefully that'll give the markers time to juice up a little bit. I think they're at their the end of their life. It's better than nothing. Good news. The tracking for the DTF transfers says it's out for delivery. So, we should hopefully get those today. I knew it would be fast. Like, they got to the order Monday, obviously, after the weekend, and I got the shipping notification in the morning. Like, they printed it fast. I went upstairs for lunch and Kiki was in her box house with just her toes hanging out the door. One set of toes. But when I approached, she ran out of the box and then she went back in it after. But again, when I approached, she would run out. I think she feels trapped. So I cut a second door in it. And that should help two of her and Midnight are playing. one of them doesn't get cornered in the box. Breaking news, the transfers are here. I cut out two of the dog transfers that I needed and gave them to Christian. We've got a man in the house and she's out of the house. And it's now Wednesday, another day of me being too lazy to look presentable. But I just finished adjusting US pricing on my website cuz the new tariff rates went into effect. And as of right now, it's still 10%, but I'm expecting it to go up to the announced 15% at some point. Who knows when? Um, I had to completely remove like all the US settings and start from scratch cuz before, like I was saying, there was different tariff rates on different countries. So I had to adjust my tariff like adjust the pricing on every single product depending on the country of origin. Whereas now it's like a 10% across the board. So that makes it much easier other than like a few things that don't have tariffs at all. So that would be the art prints, the bookmarks, the sticky notes, the coloring book, and any digital downloads. Those are all tariffree. Um so those are the only things I had to go in and manually change the price for. Um, so if it does go up to 15%, it's just like a quick one number change for me. So that's set up and good to go. Although, who knows what the future will hold. There could be more country specific tariffs coming our way. Who knows? But for now, it's dealt with. So, a lot of items in my shop, the price has gone down. And like I was saying earlier, it's really just the t-shirts where the price has gone up a little bit. Well, actually, well, as of today, they haven't. 10% that's what the tariff was
Segment 11 (50:00 - 55:00)
and what it is now on shirts. But once it goes up to 15% uh the shirts will be a little more expensive than they were before. But everything else should be cheaper. And something I forgot to mention yesterday is that the faded black sweatshirts I ordered came in cuz we were short one hoodie and so we got it in and Christian stitched that out first thing this morning. So that's dealt with. And I showed you that the DTF came in so we could use the missing sheet that we needed. And then the stickers, the freebie stickers. They're out for delivery today, which is exciting cuz like I showed you, there were oversold and so some people were still managing to buy those even though I had them marked out of stock. So, uh, I can put those in people's orders. And as of right now, I have 34 open orders. So, I'm going to be officially caught up today. I'll get through the remaining orders. And that's going to feel great. Okay. As soon as I stopped filming that, the doorbell rang. The stickers are here. Okay. What the heck is this? This is new packaging. Usually they're in elasticated stacks. This is more of a flat pack. I will say the elastics would sometimes leave a mark down the middle of a sticker. So, kind of nice not having to deal with that. Although, this might be a little bit more plastic cuz even though they were in elasticated stacks, they were still like in a plastic sleeve. Anyway, so yeah, this is what we were waiting on. We can go back to using this as the freebie sticker. And then we have the meeting cuz it was sold out. So, I'll add that to the shop inventory right now. Same with this. I don't think it's quite sold out, but it's nearly sold out. I'm just feeling so annoyed by all the mess and chaos in the house. Like going upstairs to grab these stickers. I was just accosted by how messy the main floor is. I just can't wait to clean that all up and clean up down here. And I've got so much laundry to fold cuz Christian did like a mega load of laundry since we missed a week. And so there's things everywhere. I'm like, ah, I need to get this house in order. But first, I need to finish off these orders. Back to this packaging. The annoying part will be that I'll have to put them into stacks cuz I store them in stacks. I keep the elastics on until I pull a stack forward. So, I'll have to organize this into a nice stack myself. The meeting stickers are much easier to align. And I don't really care if they're upside down or not as long as they're in a pile. And here is where I ran out of winter buns tape. We're back to stationery. Okay, it's now Thursday and I need to wrap up this vlog so I can start filming the next one. But I just wanted to give my final words. Um, first of all, just a huge thank you. Uh, this shop update was a huge success. I got 68 orders during this shop update. That's way more than I thought. So, thank you so much. And in terms of coloring books sold, I sold 457 out of the 750 that I purchased, which is insane. I mean, I had listed like 650 cuz I haven't gone through them all yet to see exactly how many B-grades I have left. So, there's like under 200 listed on the listing listed on the shop right now. So, I need to get through the rest and get an accurate inventory count up for the books, but that's amazing. I might even have to order more. Like, I thought 750 would last me a while. And maybe it still will because this was the initial rush. sales will slow down now for the coloring book, but I feel like I want this thing around long term. I'm going to have to order more at some point. And it's also making me wish I ordered 1,000 off the bat instead of 750. But like, you just never know with these things and I just never know how things in the shop are going. Like, as I get more and more products in my shop, I'm trying to order fewer of each because there's so much more selection now than there was in the past. And so I don't want to overdo it, right? But that's fine. If I need to order more, I'll order more. Like, it's a book. It should be in the shop for years to come. Even if I make more coloring books in the future, I should have the full coloring book line available at all times. That just makes sense. It's an evergreen item that should always be
Segment 12 (55:00 - 57:00)
there. Now, it did take me 2 weeks to pack all the orders, which is a long time. I am now officially caught up, by the way. Um, but I was packing solo. A big part of that is cuz we dropped some new apparel and Christian's one who makes the apparel. And so I still don't know fully how I'm going to juggle this for future shop updates. Like if it's a the Big Froggy collection dropping, for example, that one I guess I do know because we've already released the t-shirt and I do want to do a zip. And the zip though is on a new blank that I've never offered before. And so we could just pre-make those because that's the only design available on those zips. So that's at least handled. But it's the something I got to think of for the future. Like maybe I got to stagger releases where the apparel is not released at the same time as the rest of the collection. I'm losing my voice here. Still sniffly, coughing, sore throat still. I thought at least like the main cold symptoms would be gone by now and maybe I just have a lingering cough, but like it will not go away. At least I'm functional. Like we're at the point where it's pretty mild and you know, it's really been not that bad. Um, but I might not get to go to karaoke this weekend if I'm still sick. What other updates do I have? My Sharpies came in today so I can sign more coloring books. Um, some t-shirts are coming in today. the main like the plain regular t-shirts. Those are all being delivered today which is great cuz we actually are short on yet another blank. We're missing one. But that's great. I ordered it a couple days ago and it's arriving today. So, we can get that out. Um, all the stocking crises have been solved, which is nice. And expect the t-shirt restock very soon, like probably sometime this coming week. Christian said he did want to get to those t-shirts right away and get them added to the store. Um, so keep your eyes peeled. And I guess that wraps up the shop update. Uh, I can finally get the house in order and get working on that froggy illustration, all that good stuff. So, that's exciting. And yeah, that's it. Thank you guys so much for watching and I'll see you in the next one. Ah, wait. Oh, we didn't get an exact shot pass, but yay, it went to 30,000 at six, now eight. Woohoo. The order counter starting with a three. What the heck? It's not supposed to do that.
