Old School Tactics [8/20/09]

hey everybody the Wine Library setting for a Gary vaner trick. com mod I'm freaking out uh hey how are you guys uh new gb. com video want to talk about how old things shouldn't be sleeped on or slept on uh don't sleep on the old world moves something very funny happened a couple weeks ago I finally went out and got my 3GS right and uh here came with some you know apps one of them was called voice memos right we have a guy at Vayner media's on office by the name of David Zang Who records on an old school you know uh um uh phone like M just a silly phone he records all his stuff he's the controller so we hired him first so AJ and I would tell him things and he would take out this like little flip you know like 1994 phone I mean it you know luckily it's not like this kind of phone like you know that big but like you know the ones from like five years ago and he'd like record stuff and kind of made fun of him right like oh Zang what do you think it's 1999 then I got this and one of the default apps was voice memos and then I was like you know AJ it just it hit me I was like I'm always forgetting topics I'm always thinking and for these Gary book. com videos and I hadn't been doing them as much as I'd want as you guys might have noticed and I really want to get back into them as you guys might have noticed and I need to record some of that stuff so ironically M I've been using this app and it made me think like maybe the pencil and paper isn't so bad maybe old school work isn't so bad you know that's my theme right like maybe some of the old school stuff still works and a lot of old school stuff is going to work retail is going to continue to do well don't be scared uh you know events parties think about that business still going to do well and little things like the voice memos can still do well M now look at this I want you to zoom in here M I don't know how good our sound is here I'm going to pull it up full blast but like for example do a video about how smart the New York Times And The Wall Street Journal are to have a that's one of the things I'm going to do for Gary book. com and do a video about brand time brand your time is the new money making I'll get into that and uh do a blog post called consumers have graduated uh like that one more school that one reference blah blah and so do a video about how this recorder is back recording your voice 2. 0 yes why the iPhone 3GS come with it as a default there's got to be something there they wouldn't have just done it which I did now do a gary. com titled hey Mr DJ did that yesterday M you see what's going on here M uh don't forget to do the Goldfish gary. com did the Goldfish too Facebook is the new wallet to video that's my big one anyway this little recorder is allowing me to remember the videos that I want to do and it just made me think you know we made fun of voice recording a lot of old school tactics in business still work and uh and I want people to remember that and I hope you look forward to some of these upcoming Gary vuk uh. com videos I hope you're doing well I'm having surgery tomorrow on my knee I'm very worried wish me the best and make sure you go out and get crush it uh and uh that's it oh yeah tissue box stop crying go out and do it see you next time
