Biggest Upgrade to YouTube Algorithm

This is probably the biggest upgrade to the YouTube algorithm since it first existed. Right now, as it stands, when you post a piece of content, then your content is most likely only going to be shown to people in your general area. Now, it is true that people around the world can find your content on YouTube. It's a global platform, but there's that language barrier that keeps us from interacting with content from different regions of the world because it's in a different language. And this is where

New Features

the update to YouTube's algorithm comes in because they're rolling out this feature to more and more creators where when you upload your content, it's automatically dubbed into several different languages. And it's not just the dubbing. They're also testing allowing you to upload various different thumbnails for those different languages and regions. So, if I know that my video is dubbed into Spanish automatically, then I could upload a thumbnail that has a Spanish phrase on it, per se, so that I can get viewers and engagement from people from the Spanish speaking part of the world. And so, something you may have noticed recently is when you open up YouTube and you're scrolling through, you may see videos. And if you look in the bottom lefthand corner, you'll see that it says dubbed. And this lets you know that the video has been dubbed from their original language into the language in which you listen to or view YouTube videos. But as a YouTube creator yourself, you may have noticed that some of your videos have been getting a lot more impressions and the click-through rate is extremely low, but YouTube is still telling you, "Hey, your click-through rate is all right. " And so, you may see a video with the click-through rate of 1% that YouTube says is performing well. And the reason why is because your content is being distributed to so many more people. So naturally with the broader distribution, there's going to be a lower click-through rate. Now let's talk about why this is so important. First and foremost, let's just say that there is no other platform that does this. Tik Tok doesn't even do it. Facebook doesn't do it. Instagram doesn't do it. If your content is not in the native language of the person who's going to view the content, you have no access to that audience. YouTube is the only platform that is realistically and practically giving you access to other nationalities and regions of the earth without using AI tools to dub your voice manually and then repost your content. So, if you open a YouTube Studio app and you see that your video has an extremely low click-through rate or your content is starting to perform better than it usually does, this is probably the reason. And if you want to know if you have this feature turned on, open up the YouTube Studio app and look on the lefth hand side for a tab that says languages. And then if I come here and I click on one of these videos, it'll give me the languages that it's already been dubbed into. And these are already set up to be published automatically. I didn't want to look at them or review them because I don't know those languages. I know Spanish, so that's the only one I could realistically review. And then if I wanted to add a language, I would click here and then I could choose other languages where I want my videos to show up. And so for instance, Facebook is not as popular in the US as it is in a lot of other countries, especially places like Pakistan. And so if I wanted to, I could add erdo as a language to those videos. And one more thing that I

mentioned right here is that this will affect the monetization on those videos because as I've discussed in several other videos, when your videos are playing in the US, the ad spend is going to be different that you get paid for videos that play for a primarily US audience versus an audience in a different region. So that's one thing to be mindful of as well. If you're monetized on YouTube, I think the monetization of those videos when they're played in those specific regions is going to be lower than if they're played in the US, but I don't believe that that's going to hurt the overall performance of the video or your channel in the long run. How To Take Advantage

think that it's going to help. But now, let's talk about a few things that we can do to make sure that we're taking advantage of this new YouTube algorithm update. And so if you want to take advantage of this new YouTube algorithm update, one thing I recommend is this. Don't start trying to post as often as you possibly can. Now, if you have a posting cadence that is frequent, then keep your posting cadence. But one thing that I do recommend is that we focus more on the quality of our videos rather than the quantity of our videos. And I'm not talking about production value. I'm talking about the actual value that people get from the content because whether you know it or not, you're being introduced to people who have never seen you before. And you want your first impression to be a good one. And we all know that average view duration, click-through rate, all of those things play a role with the YouTube algorithm. But even more importantly, what everyone is starting to agree on is that viewer satisfaction plays an even higher role. So, we want to make sure that if someone from the Spanish speaking community or any other language views our content in English or vice versa, that content is giving the highest level of value possible. So, let's define value. Value means that when you write a title and create a thumbnail, it's going to create a promise of what you're going to give them by the time they finish watching the video. And value in simplest terms is just us overd delivering in the actual video content as much as possible so that when they walk away from the video they feel as though that was time well spent. And two things that I'm working on to make my content more valuable is to respect my viewers intelligence. I know that you're intelligent and you don't need me to overexlain or repeat things. And number two, I want to respect your time and not make the videos longer than necessary.
