Hi. Welcome to The Avi Narrative My name is Vamsi Avinash Gunji (Avi) and most people call me Avi. I'll be honest, more thought I would be here I never thought I’d be facing a camera. I never thought I'd be telling my story on YouTube. someone. This Vocal. This visible, this expressive. Well, You know! life changes you today I work as a Senior DevOps Engineer I build cloud platforms, I design Infrastructure, I automate systems, I build reliability, I build a story. But the story isn't about a job title. It's about a journey. Because if you met the 18 years older version of me, you would never believe that this is where I would end up. I Moved to United States when I was 18 years old. Coming from India, new country, new culture, new language, new education system, new lifestyle, everything felt unfamiliar. Even the smallest things, the way they spoke, the way the classrooms were, the way the friendships formed, the way the independence worked. Yes. Even food. The food was like a cultural shock. Different tastes, different routines, different habits. When you're young and far away from home, even food becomes very natural. Food becomes very emotional for you. Before the US, I was shaped in India. Strong High School foundation, discipline, structure. IIT coaching, Mathematics Rigor and problem solving mindset. So the foundation saved me in the US. It trained my patience, trained my consistency, it trained my resilience. So I did my bachelor's degree at Seton Hall University my entire undergrad in the US. Not many students from India do their bachelor's here. I did my double major in the computer science and math. Most people come for a master's. Bachelor's is different. It's not just education. It's like kind of like an Identity Formation It's independence. It's communication growth. It's like a cultural immersion. First, I struggle to understand the systems, like how professors teach, how students interact, how collaboration works, and how presentations work. I already had no clue. But slowly I adapted. College didn't just educate me, it shaped me. I became strong in English, reading and writing and coding. Not. Not naturally. Intentionally reading books, talking with friends, practicing communication. My accent, like, kind of evolved naturally. My confidence grew. I loved my college life fully collaborating, interacting, building friendships. My professors were like, really supportive. They were mentors, not just teachers. I even had the opportunity to do research work with them, and that shaped how I think. And before my career even began, I need to say this clearly. I did not build this life alone. My uncle and my aunt were my foundation in the US. They helped me settle down. They helped me understand the whole system. They helped me adapt to help me grow. They supported me emotionally. They supported me financially. They supported me mentally. They're the best cooks in the world. So I never felt disconnected from Indian food culture or home and life. Having someone who can hold your hand in tough times emotionally and financially changes everything. And today I'm here because of them. I'm deeply thankful, forever grateful, always respectful. I wanted data science roles. I applied, I tried, it was Covid. The market was brutal. Most roles wanted like five plus years of experience. So I kind of like Adapted I joined as a developer and that kind of decision changed my entire life because development taught me the systems thinking and coding, but kept asking one question what happens after development? So what happens after the code is written? deployment? What happens in the production? So this curiosity kind of pulled me into cloud Infrastructure, AWS, Containers, Kubernetes, Automation. I started learning, I started certifying. I started building step by step, skill by skill. Slowly, intentionally. I transitioned into a full DevOps engineer. I completed my master's degree as well. I hold the 11 plus certifications across Cloud, DevOps, Platform Engineering, including AWS DevOps Professional, Azure DevOps Expert not for titles for mastery, credibility and for depth.

Segment 2 (05:00 - 06:00)

Today I work as a Senior DevOps engineer. I design systems businesses depend on. I build reliability, I reduce chaos, I create stability. DevOps isn't just a tech, it's leadership. It's responsibility. It's the trust. No, AI isn't replacing DevOps anytime soon. Automation supports DevOps, but it doesn't replace it. So I feel like this Career has a 20 plus year future. And here is the part I never expected. I never thought I would be on YouTube. talk on a camera, never thought I would tell my story publicly. But I started YouTube for one reason IMPACT!. People see success, not the whole process. So I want to show you the journey. Tech, life, immigration, growth. It's been ten years in the US. I'm 28 years old. Not Done. Life is still building. I'm building my own platform. People ask me one question is doing a bachelor's in the US still got option today and how is it different from doing it in India, and how does it compare to my friends experiences? I can talk more about that. It's just not education. It's identity development. If my story helps a new immigrant, if it helps a student planning life in the US, if it helps someone about to graduate and this channel has a purpose. From the confused 18 year old immigrant to a Senior DevOps Engineer from an Introvert to a Confident Communicator, from survival to Leadership, this is my story, but it's not finished. Comment what you want next! F1 OPT Immigration Bachelor’s in the US, DevOps Career, Tech in America I'll break down everything for you. Real, honest, human. This is my narrative. Thanks for watching the video. I'll see you in the next.
