OpenAI Releases ChatGPT Pro, New o1 Model and More!

okay this is a great week for AI we got updates across the board from open AI pushing the envelope with a brand new 01 pro model under a $200 subscription all the way to a teaser of World Generation models from Google's Deep Mind a brand new top tier AI video generator that's open source and so many more unique stories in this week's episode of AI news you can use to show that collects all of the AI stories that you can actually put to work today we find them research them test them and package everything for you in one easily digestible video no time to waste let's get into it okay so the biggest story

and piece of news that you can actually use this week is definitely open AI coming out with 01 their full version of their reasoning model and they also released a brand new subscription Plan called chat gbt Pro coming in at 10 times the price of the plus plan $200 a month I already upgraded to this plan to show it off to you in this video quick side note I had to do it on a different open ey account as my main one because my main one is in a team subscription and I couldn't just upgrade my license with the team I had to use a separate account and when you do that it looks very similarly to what it looked like just yesterday you have the model switch are up here with two slight changes one of them is that 01 preview change to 01 this is the full version of 01 that we've been waiting for that performs way better on all sorts of benchmarks that you really care about if you're using 01 and then you have 01 Pro which is a marginal Improvement in performance but the consistency is the main selling point here when you run a prom 10 times way more often are you going to get consistently high quality results okay so before we talk about the new o1 and what my first impression is of how these models perform Let me just point out the other things that come with this $200 a month subscription now you get unlimited access to all of the normal models plus unlimited access to Advanced voice mode this is something that many people have been requesting and although they did change this over the past weeks some users even reported up to 90 minutes of usage sometimes and even the window in which it resets got shrunk from 24 hours somewhere around 16 to 20 hours it always varied nevertheless if you wanted to use advanced voice mode as a passive assistant while working you couldn't really do that cuz after about an hour it would just turn off this is the first plan where you can really do that you could have the advanced voice assistant on 24/7 which I guess opens up a new set of use cases that nobody has really considered yet if they pop up will certainly cover them but it is interesting that you could now have a 24/7 voice assistant on your phone I don't think most people need that just like most people don't need unlimited access to A1 even if you hit the rate limit sometime you just wait a little bit and you can run more prompts I think the one big selling point right here is the access to the pro mode and as pointed out by costing our community here today interestingly I think they did not mention is that this Pro subscription comes with a larger context window this is the first time you're getting 128,000 tokens of context inside of chat GPT which means you can effectively work with four times more text than you could up until now that includes everything from input to output and the entire conversation as it goes on and that's pretty much it so for most people this is not going to be interesting I'm going to talk about the models now and then I'll round out this segment with a recommendation of who should even be considering this obviously very expensive plan so let's talk about the models here and this is only a first look this thing came out a few hours ago I spent all of my time here running various test prompts through it and comparing it to the results of the previous models of GPT 40 01 mini and then also making the comparison to 01 full and 01 Pro now look obviously this is just a first look and not a comprehensive testing but I can already tell you that what you see here with these benchmarks like for example 01 and 01 Pro always being very close in the results right here 76 79 78 86 and these are competition math and PhD level science questions most people aren't asking those types of questions nevertheless as we talked about there's a lot of use cases that make a lot of sense inside of 01 even for everyday people you might not be working with mathematics or scientific questions or you might not even be using it for development which by the way it's really outstanding and probably even better than Sonet we will need some time to really state that confidently but as I mentioned in another video on the channel where I took a deep dive into A1 and looked at what makes sense in for example a business and marketing context it's really good at long-term planning whenever you need to keep the bigger picture in mind and not just go step by step but really think about the outcome and the resources you have and bringing all of that together every step along the way this is where these reasoning models are fantastic and way Superior to anything you'll ever get from a sonnet or a gbt 40 and as I also pointed out 01 mini is fantastic at rewriting I didn't really see a difference in performance when it comes to rewriting so we can just leave it at that for now but I ran this fairly Advanced prompt on how to create a SWAT analysis it doesn't include examples in the end but there is quite a bit of context in here that allows it to do a great job at this and I compared this between GPT 4 and even 01 Pro and let me tell you my opinion didn't really change compared to what it looked like a week ago when it comes to these models o1 previe is way better at actually thinking this through and as I said considering various viewpoints and things like an outcome or division even more than 40 will ever be able to do and this didn't really change with 01 matter of fact I don't even see a big difference in this particular use case I mean fair enough they adverti this as hey this is really good for science it's good for math it's good for code generation and I guess that's where all the gains will be found but just like before I always went to 01 preview for a lot of these strategic type prompts 01 seems to be doing equally as excellent on those tasks and if I compare this to 01 Pro mode it's virtually the same except that the pro model took even more time I then did the same thing for social media content calendar which 01 Pro took over 90 seconds for and o1 was faster and again it essentially came up with the same thing and both of them are Head and Shoulders above what you can get from cat gbd 40 so I don't know I oppose the verdict is 01 is Head and Shoulders above chat GPT 40 when it comes to some of these strategic use cases that I personally really care about but the promot not really necessary for most users and again that's just speaking from The Limited tests I ran here I mean hey I literally only ran one coding prompt which is where I asked it to build a browser chess game and it did that and the pr mode was slightly longer I ran it through the tokenizer and the output was around 10% longer but when I ran the same thing through CLA that was actually 30% longer plus obviously in the artifacts you could actually run it in the browser but I realized that this doesn't mean at all just time will show how this actually performs in practice this is just a first look but nevertheless my verdict for now would be I don't think most people need 01 Pro matter of fact if you look at the graphs the main thing it has going for it is more reliability that's where the real difference lies between 01 normal and 01 Pro if you run a prompt four times 01 Pro is going to be more reliable so who's this $200 month Pro plan for well over the years of learning all different types of software and buying all sorts of electronic Hardware I mean I have free cameras just laying around on the table right now randomly and that's because I'm selling some of the stuff that I don't need but the point is this I came up with a rule of Thum of my own when it comes to all of these technological upgrades cuz there's always something you can upgrade there's the new pro model there's the new iPhone model there's the more expensive lens whatever it might be if you're already using a product and you find yourself running into the limitations three or more times in under a month that and only that is a scenario in which you should even consider upgrading to a higher tier subscription or a more expensive version of the thing that removes that restriction in other words if over the course of the last month you haven't hit the rate limits of 01 preview a single time or maybe you only hit the rate limit of advanced voice twice don't bother save your $180 it's not going to be a game changer for you on the other hand if you're using it for your work every day or maybe used a one preview for code generation every single day and you were consistently annoyed by the fact that the limits came up and you can afford this more expensive subscription plan it might benefit you but I believe that for most people that did not hit these rate limits more than three times over the past month this plan is a easy skip although they might include more into it over the course of the next 11 days with these 12 days of open a ey Christmas that they're doing okay so that's the news from open AI but let's have a look at other stories cuz so much more interesting stuff that you can put to work today came out this week some of it arguably way more practical than these new1 models for most people

okay next up we have something that came out last week but I just want to point this out briefly it's Innovative thing that came out of anthropics clae and it's called the mCP protocol aka the model context protocol now this might sound fancy but at the end of the day this is just a way to link up external tools to your CLA interface you can think of this like the tools inside of chat GPT like here it has the ability to search the web and as you might know under the hood it has the ability to browse the web run the code interpreter or generate images now what clots did with the model cont protocol is actually gave users the ability to implement custom tools so if you want claw to browse the internet which it could not do previously you can hook it up via model context protocol to a internet browsing API and now Claud can do that if you want to hook it up to your server or a weather app that pulls live weather data you can also do that with mCP there's a lot of possibilities here and I'm planning to actually spend my weekend exploring this as I definitely want to cover this more in between the channel and the community it seems like a fantastic advantage way to get the most out of these llms because the stuff they'll ship into this is well aimed at a user base of 300 million users and a lot of the people watching this channel are probably in the top percent of those 300 million in terms of sophistication and ability to get the most out of these tools and that's where something like this can really shine so again it just came out that I'm looking forward to exploring this a bit more but now you're aware of the fact that they open source this and if you want to extend your CLA you can go ahead and give it a shot

the world of AI video generators there's a brand new top tier player and I'll keep this brief but let me just tell you that this is one of the best video models out there and they completely open source the damn thing you could try it on their own website but there you need a Chinese phone number I would just recommend using the file. a interface I'll link it in the description below but right here you can generate anything and let me tell you this video generator is really damn good I mean look opening I might just really Sora over the coming week or so but I'm not even sure how much that would matter at this point cuz some of these video generators are so amazing here's a little clip that didn't turn out too well but this is the first thing we generated a penguin riding a skateboard let me tell you each one of these clips cost 50 cents but if you want a full breakdown of this I would recommend a video from friend of the channel met with Pro AI where he does a full breakdown of this with many more examples of how this performs but yeah I think overall when it comes to open source models this one seems to be the best one available right now and now let's move on to the next story okay

next up we have King's virtual Tryon tool and this is the first commercialized virtual Tryon tool that I've seen maybe there some very Niche ones but this is the first s tier company in this case cling coming out with a specific tool to try on different clothes on AI avatars as we talked about in last week all these video companies really try to bring forth all the use cases and all the Practical use cases for these tools and this is a fantastic example and looking in I got this offer that I wasn't expecting there's a trial package where you get free credits you can just try things for free without having to subscribe so let's see if we can actually use this tool without ping here so if we go to AI images there's this new tab called AI virtual Tryon and well it allows you to do custom models in this case I'm just going to go with one of the recommended ones and we just going to search for some old school style Prada dress ah this is perfect black vintage gown let's see if we can try this on one of these models quick screenshot upload that to the tool and how about we just put this onto the first model I feel like this would be a great fit let's say generate wa wait that worked really well no this is the dress I guess the shoulder is a bit different isn't it and the length is totally off okay wait let's try with a different model then okay well I don't know the length is definitely off the shoulder looks better but this is different and then also all the details around the belly and the chest area are completely different I don't know if I were a fashion designer I wanted to sell this dress of mine and somebody came back with these pictures it's a bit of a disaster that's not even the same piece of clothing let's try once more with a different piece of clothing ooh this one looks a bit tricky but hey I'm not here to give it easy examples I'm here to test it in practice take this dress and let's take the same model what now it mix the two images what's up with that so I don't know this doesn't seem even close to being production ready so I checked out the user guide here to see if I was missing something and it seems like this is more of a tool that is set up for you to try on different types of clothes and not for manufacturers of clothes to put them on different types of models so you can upload yourself here and see how the clothes would look on new roughly my initial impression was that this would be absolutely amazing for online shopping but really it's just to switch outfits instantly and then you can even easily turn it into a video with one click on this free plan I will have to wait for 1,178 minutes for that video to generate though so feel free to digitally try on clothes on yourself if you create a custom model of yourself here it's something new that works okay and that's always nice to see next up we have

Minimax coming out with a brand new tool and this one got me excited when I saw it because Minimax already was extremely good at doing characters and they came out with a feature specifically focusing on characters and the main thing I want to show you is the launch video here and I got to say this has to be one of the best AI feature launch videos I have seen yet these are always heavily cherry-picked obviously they're there to market the best results you can get with the tool nevertheless these results are impressive Sora on the day of its reveal type of impressive I mean look at some of these scenes incredible some of these moving frames look just like the ones inside of Harry Potter and this final scene of these two guys leaving the frame this would be so hard to pull off with visual effects now you can just prompt it with this brand new tool and just to be clear this is an image to video models so you start with a static image and turn it into videos like this and here's a comparison from Twitter user yiat I suppose between the original model and this live model and how much better this really is at animating in this case anime so we can easily give this a shot ourselves if you go to the website and switch on over to the image to video tab here you can switch a new live model down here and what if I give it a frame of this little AI Comics I made back in the day when we held a little workshop on how to do this in our community I'll just take one of these images and see what happens when it tries to animate this rabbit so here it is the live model is selected there is a free trial here so we can just go ahead and generate this without a prompt sometimes it does help to describe exactly what you're seeing and what movement you want but I'll just leave this blank let's see what we get all right mouth randomly moving look at those eyes this is pretty good honestly if you dub this accordingly you have a usable anime scene so just like the trailer this seems to live up to the expectations of being a use worthy application that can create animated shows or scenes pretty cool on to the

next one okay next up we have 11 Labs entering the big boy Arena of voice AI agents and what this actually means is that there's finally some true competition to open ai's advanced voice mode the prices were super high and there was not a lot of pressure on them because nobody else really came out with a platform that was as easy to use and to implement as opening eyes advanced voice mode for the API but now that changes as 11 Labs is making its move here so if you log into the platform on the conversation you can go to agents and here you can try various agents we'll go with the default one as I think this is the universally agreed upon use case that just makes so much sense customer support so I'll try a call here put on the headset and I expect the voices to be really good but let's see how good the latency is and how fluid this feels I understand it's important to have a smooth and responsive experience especially when it comes to voice interactions yeah 100% so let's see how the interruption Works o I actually like that it interrupted very smoothly let's see how long it takes now between me stopping my monologue and it answering that's great to hear I'm glad the interruption Works smoothly I'm always working to improve my response times so I'll be sure to note your feedback let me know how long it takes for me to respond after you finish speaking no you're good Eric I got to say this feels even more fluid than advanced voice on the phone the interaction is often a little wonky and what happens if there's some other rustling sounds or something like this no you don't get distracted could you answer now that's fantastic to hear okay this is really good first look based on intuition here excellent work so if I go on to create an AI agent what does the interface look like cuz I think the amazing thing about the advanced voice mode editor is that it is really simple but 11 Labs has always been good at interfaces that has not been a weakness of theirs so let's see what we get here okay pretty simple the starting message the language there's a system prompt you can pick a llm you could even take Cloud 3. 5 Sonet I suppose this was Flash that's why it was so fast nice ah they even have a knowledge base that takes URLs or pure text this is super convenient look at that it can catch web hooks this means you can easily integrate this with any automation processes you might have or if something happens on your website in your CRM you could set up a little automation that fires a web hook and then the agent can catch it and adjust the conversation so making orders or tracking shipping all relatively easy to do as they have this in here and then you got to give a description of when to use the tool this looks fantastic okay as I would imagine there's a ton of voices to choose from I even have my custom trained one in here wow I'm just realizing what big of a move this is by 11 Labs they're really going outside of just providing voices they don't want to be the ones just providing the tech they also want to be the platform that it gets distributed from a lot of advanced features in here like authentication and they even give you a super simple widget that you could Now integrate onto your website where you could offer these customer support calls instead of a chat bot that's quite cool I think we will have a closer look at this and we'll definitely be creating a community guide on this but if this really works as well as it looks right here I'll follow up with another video and I'll show you how to integrate this on a website hey I'm just wondering how a agent chatbot Works instead of having to type hey there I understand you're curious about how agent chatbot Works without typing that's a great question agent chatbot can be used with voice input allowing you to talk to it instead of typing this is really cool and this implementation seems incredibly easy and you literally just copy paste this into your head or body text off your website and you're good to go wow strong move 11 Labs again we'll have a closer look at this and follow up with more info and

while we're on the topic of voices hum has a brand new model that allows more customization than anything we've seen out of any voice Creator before remember the 11lbs feature we looked at a few weeks ago where you can just prompt a voice into existence I think it was under voices and you could add a new voice right here from a text prompt well this same feature is now offered by Hume and Hume you might not be aware of because we covered it multiple months ago but their main focus was emotionally aware AI that could pick up on things like tonality and intonation that underly your words they call themselves The empathetic AI platform and in this case they have a brand new voice creation feature let's have a look at it and in their voice playground which looks like a simpler level lapse right here but with some unique capabilities you can do similar things just like you can do in 11 laps so for example if you go to voices you can create a voice and this is what I meant you really get to dial it in here look you could pick how nasal of voices or how clear it is okay let's make this one super nasal extremely bold while being very smooth and slightly enthusiastic Also let's make it more masculine and let's call this the AI Advantage nasal dominance and creates this brand new voice let's have a listen to how this sounds hello I'm your friendly neighborhood AI with a knack for emotional intelligence what's on your mind today okay we need more nasality in here and also I want it to be even smoother a Advantage nasal dominance 2. 0 let's go hello I'm your friendly neighborhood AI with an act for emotional intelligence what's on your mind today okay what happens if I go to the other side of the nality slider but now I do have to change the name which I can't easily do never mind let's listen anyway hello I'm your friendly neighborhood AI with a neack for emotional intelligence interesting so if you really want to dial it in you can do that with it right here and then you could head on over to the playground and also build the AI voice agent right here I could pick my custom voice here the AI Advantage nasal dominance will do system prompts and as tooling I can only use web search or a hangup feature and there's no knowledge base and the supplemental llms offer similar options to 11 labs this product has more emotional intelligence than both open a and the Lev Labs unless open a has some trick up their sleeves over the coming two weeks as they will announce a lot of new things but again I just love to see more competition in this Marketplace and as this Market segment develops we'll keep an eye on Hume and what they come up with this seems very promising too

okay next up we have a brand new topic something that we haven't really covered because it hasn't really existed it's a new category of AI generator and as you know all of these generative a models are based on Transformers which basically take one type of input and turn it into another type of output you can take images and turn them into videos you can take a simple text prompt and turn it into a massive essay and in this case the output side are worlds game worlds concretely and we have two projects coming out simultaneously I don't know if this is a coincidence or what's going on but both World laabs here and Google deepmind came out with their very own models the one from Google Deep Mind is called gen2 and world laabs came out with an announcement where you could try the model right inside of the blog post it's quite cool so let's begin here as you can see if you open up this link which by the way as always is in the description below and as some comments pointed out will sort them by the way they're sorted in the video to make it really easy for you to find the right links but in this blog post that you can find it's not really usable yet but you can use this blog post so we decided to include this in here and what you can do is you can scroll down just a little bit and here in these various demos you can use the W ASD keys on your keyboard it's just like in any computer game and you can move around the scene while clicking and dragging around the seams now this is quite Limited as you can see by a purple border here I hit the limit of this little demo but you could go around here and look around keep in mind it generated all of this from a simple image so as I move around this bush of flowers it has threedimensional properties and as opposed to some of the game demos we've seen recently this has temporal consistency so if I look around it's still the same Bush of flowers over here no matter what I do in some of the demos of the generative game engines you did a 360 and everything looked different so here's a few more examples and it doesn't end here there's a lot of other examples and demos within this block post but you can just move around these images it makes them navigatable it makes them threedimensional look at that I can move around this little mountain over here and see what's behind it is it perfect no but all of these models are just in their infancy this is just getting started and there's multiple effects that can be achieved here this is a classical Dolly Zoom where you physically move a camera back and forth in space while zooming in or out so as I pull the camera back I would slowly zoom in and do the opposite while moving closer well now you can simulate this with a model so there's a few more here if you want to explore this yourself just head on over to the website it's really fun super simple to access and they also provide a weit list if you're Keen to see the latest updates as early as possible now the second project here is genie2 coming out of Google Deep Mind and they also have a very similar demo where you can use W ASD and the mouse to navigate stuff and this is actually text to 3D World and as you can see from a simple text prompt it generates a playable video game demo again with temporal consistency meaning you look around and the stuff is consistent across time just like we're used in the real world it's kind of important I mean imagine coming home from work and every single day your wife is a different one I don't know I suppose some people would enjoy that but generally speaking that's not a good thing I think you understand my point here and especially if you're creating worlds or games you want consistency and it even has something like long Horizon memory which is essentially long-term memory where as it generates something and you leave that area when you come back it remembers that it generated that and it recreates it adding to the consistency across time I really want wonder how far this can scale and how video game manufacturers will implement this over time but these early looks at things are exactly the reason why I got into Ai and why I always was into Tech in the first place if this interests you at all I highly recommend you check out both of these blog posts they're packed with examples and information and especially
