It breaks a problem into smaller tasks, works through each part, then solves the whole thing. Two, improved coding and debugging. Gemini wasn't really focused on coding before, but now it's kind of awesome. I'm no developer, but I will show you a few things it can do, and you will see what I mean. Three, improved memory. Gemini can now pull information from your search history and past chats. Basically like chat GPT except it's Google. On top of that, there are a bunch of smaller improvements too. Better image generation, canvas mode, deep research, and more. There is a lot for you to

explore. In Gemini 2. 5, reasoning is always on. When you ask tricky question, Gemini silently breaks it down into smaller steps, solves each part, then gives you the final answer. points. There is also a floating menu with a quick edit options. Instead of typing make it shorter or make it more formal, you can use sliders or drop downs to tweak the tone. Casual, formal, or length, shorter, longer. Gemini applies the changes on the spot, so you can see the documents update in real time. This is awesome for trying out different writing styles or making sure the whole dog has the same voice. Another button is suggest changes, which makes Gemini analyze the text and offer improvements. Right now, it's in a testing phase, but in a few weeks or months, it will replace the 2. 0 model and lose the experimental label. Audio overview is a new Gemini

feature, and it's pretty unusual. You never really know when it's active and getting it to show up can be tricky. Basically, Gemini can take written text like a document or article and turn it into a podcast-like audio summary featuring two AI voices talking about the content. It's kind of like an AI powered podcast that discusses your text. We showed you something similar in Notebook LLM. To create an audio overview, just upload your document or slides, then click the suggestion tip that appears above the prompt bar. That is all you have to do. For example, you can say close-up headsh shot, wide shot, bird eye view or portrait orientation. Also mention focus or depth of field if it is important like blurred background or sharp subject.

If you need the image for something specific like a logo or thumbnail, say so in your prompt. For example, Gemini will tailor the image for things like logo, icon, wallpaper, or YouTube thumbnail. While you can set exact dimension, mentioning the format can guide the composition. Also, let it know if you need a certain aspect ratio, square, wide, tall, or medium.

Don't worry if the first attempt isn't perfect. Gemini lets you make changes step by step. Once you see the initial output, you can ask to brighten the scene, change the color scheme, or add or remove elements. Just say it in your next prompt and Gemini will produce a new image with those tweaks. This iterative process helps you quickly zero in on exactly what you want.

The best part about Gemini's deep research is that it actually shows a research plan you can tweak. That plan is exactly what Gemini will do. You can click edit and for instance narrow down the publishing dates for its sources. Just type in your changes, submit the plan, and confirm. I prefer this approach over Chad GPT peppering me with follow-up questions. Take a look at what it did for my query. Although it took around 5 minutes to finish, so they really need to work on that. Deep research is the best for tricky questions or topics that need information from various places. So when you prompted, go broad. Ask for comparisons, analysis, or in-depth overviews. If you only need a quick fact, regular chat is faster. But for things like overview, compare, how does X affect Y over time, or what do experts say about Z, deep research is your go-to. It excels at giving well-rounded answers to big open-ended questions. It's not just about summaries. You can also ask deep research for recommendations or action plans. absolutely need to learn is gems. Think of them like custom GPTs, mini models crafted to do one job really well. Gemini does come with a few built-in gems. You can see them in Jam Manager. There is the writing editor for fixing grammar style and structure. A brainstormer that spits out creative ideas, a career guide for personal career tips, a coding partner for everything from building code to debugging, and a learning coach that breaks down tough concepts into small steps. The newest edition is Chess Champ, but you probably won't bother since you have to literally spell out the positions of each chess piece to play. If you need something more specialized, making your own is super simple. Just follow my lead. In the same gem manager, click new gem and give it a name. Unlike Chad GPT where you would type out a detailed description, here you're mostly filling in blanks. You will see a preview on the right and I suggest you test it as you go to ensure it behaves the way you want. Besides name, there are two other sections to fill in. Instructions and knowledge. Try this formula for your jam instructions. Roll plus task plus style plus algorithm plus format plus restrictions. You can shuffle these any way you like, but including all of them usually gives the best results. For example, if you want better results, add more details about audience, your preferences, or anything you want Gemini to avoid or focus on. Once you have a solid instruction, click the magic one. Gemini will upgrade your prompt, making it more detailed and precise. It builds on what you wrote. So the more details you include, the better final improvement is. After finishing instructions, move on to knowledge. Here you can add files for Gemini to use. Maybe formatting samples you like, past text you admire, or even articles for Gemini to pull data from.
